Pros +
- Pleasant stay in triple room. Staff very friendly and accommodating, breakfast plentiful. Beds comfortable. Daily, reliable room service and everything provided. Water of shower was always hot. Good connection by bus to Oxford, 10 min bus 2 or 2A. Thanks!
- Staff was very kind, thank you!!
- Parking was available.Bus stop was outside property but we chose to walk 40 mins into town. Nice shops/cafes just by property.Friendly staff.
Cons -
- The bathroom (shower) is very small, but everything is provided: toilet, toilet paper, sink, shower, shampoo, body wash, big towels and hand towels, hair dryer.
- Mattress was old, poor quality and soft.Heating was on full blast. Breakfast basic-no fruit/veg/pastries.
- The room was draughty and cold because we were on the top floor in what looked like what once would have been attic space before being converted. The room had the basic things you would need e.g. kettle, hair dryer, mirror etc. which is good but the floor rug looked unclean. It was a basic single small room without an en-suite and breakfast wasn’t included in the price, so it didn’t feel like great value for money.

It was convenient to get into town via the bus. The property had parking. The man that checked us in was friendly. There was a small heater already in the room, as the rooms we were in were very cold, so that was handy. The bedroom didn’t have an en suite (which I was already aware of) but did have a sink which was handy. Good storage for luggage and clothes. Check-in and check-out was straightforward

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable room, very warm..... good value.
Hot and cold tap in sink wrong way round but was but a minor issue, probably added to the charm of the place.
Had all the requirements for a pleasant overnight stay with added bonus of friendly staff, opportunity to check in early and free parking ( often an extra cost in Oxford!) Some distance from the actual city centre ( 30 minutes walk) but frequent bus service. Good range of shops and restaurants in the vicinity.
Room had lots of space. Bed was comfy and there was an extra blanket for warmth.
I couldn't get the internet to connect to the TV so I had to settle for watching live TV instead
Great hotel. I've stayed twice now and had a positive stay on both occasions. It's a little further out but there are plenty of buses providing easy access to the city centre. Rooms are comfortable and clean.
I booked last minute on my second stay (same day) and hadn't received any details on how to access the property / room by the time I arrived at about 8pm. However, I called the hotel and a staff member arrived within 10 minutes of me calling to let me in. A minor point though and quickly remedied.
Walking distance for food and drinks surrounding
Cold room, slow heat up heater especially in winter season.
Comfortable and very responsive staff.
Parking was not available for our large car so that was a problem on arrival. Staff tried to respond. Stairs so a bit of a struggle with luggage.
It was close to local amenities and bus routes
We had two rooms but found the beds very uncomfortable and creaky every time we moved we all didn't really sleep ,really needs decorating in the rooms and odd bits renewing staff was lovely and didn't like to ask for my money back even though we wanted to
O was staying with my partner and 10 years child.I booked Deluxe Room with double bed and one single however i had room with 2 single beds. There was only 2 towels and 2 cups so looked like room was for 2 people not 3 what we paid for. There was no hot water from the tap in a bathroom, floors squicky, room was really hot. Also on booking page there was no explanation how to get into your room, only when I rang number which I found also on a sign outside guest house,so staff explained there was key safe by front door,he told us code and that way we got our key but all this information should be provided on booking.com system.I didn't ring and complained about beds situation that night cos we arrived late and we had to leave early and my child was exhausted so I left it but basically we had one of the worst stays ever.DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GUEST HOUSE
We didn't get the room we paid for, 2 single beds for 2 adults and child is beyond joke
Exceptionally friendly greeting, very easy parking in Oxford, excellent location in summertown, very clean, very warm, very comfortable rooms. I could not fault this guest house.
Nothing at all.
Location
Freezing cold, not the cleanest, smelt bad
Rooms was clean and bed bas fairly comfortable
It was cold, really cold. Shower had almost no pressure, and was either scalding hot or freezing cold - completely unusable.
We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the location couldn’t have been better. Our triple room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family of three. We really appreciated the free on-site parking and the convenience of having bus stops nearby, making it easy to reach the city centre. There are also some fantastic spots just across the road — OXTWO serves delicious small plates, and Colombian Coffee Roasters offers excellent coffee and generously filled bagels.
For the price we liked everything. It was excellent value for money.
The room was compact but had everything we needed. There was an ensuite which despite being tiny had everything in it.When we arrived the front door was locked as we were in the process of following the directions to call for access a lady arrived who was aware we were coming. She had a table in the dining room where she seemed to be managing guest bookings from. She was helpful regarding what was available locally , we had mistakenly thought we had booked to stay in Oxford or a short walk out of Oxford, the guest house is in a district called Summertown, a short bus journey from Oxford.Breakfast seemed a little confusing, we were given no option to book breakfast when we booked the room, although buffet breakfast seemed to be available we were not given the option to take this up. We were able to park on the front of the property, but the space was challenging and limited to 2 cars, apparently there is other parking , this was vaguely described and appeared to be on the road. There was a slight smell of drains when you were in the bathroom, but this was not evident in the room. The room was pleasantly decorated with co ordinated linens , there was a hair dryer available. Check out at 11.00am was great, we were able to go for breakfast locally without rushing.
Smell in the ensuite.Would have liked more clarity of information about the breakfastFurther information about safe parking
Location is great, very easy to get to and well connected to buses etc if you don’t fancy a 20 minute walk from the station.
Information about breakfast etc could have been advertised better
Breakfast was limited but acceptable to us The location was ideal for us as we had no car so proximity to shops and bus stops was ideal.
The room and bathroom were very clean, and the staff were really friendly.
I wasn’t thrilled with the location. It was a little far from the center, but there was a supermarket and some restaurants close by, so it was still convenient.
