    Pros +

    • Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is convenient that there is parking at the back.
    • Loved the feeling of being personally looked after. Loved the location. Loved the comfort of the room.
    • The staff were amazing at The Old Bank Hotel. Made us feel very welcome from setting a sign to reserve a parking space to the personal touches throughout our stay. This includes writing a personal note congratulating us on our 20th wedding anniversary. The room was spotless and the attention to detail was amazing. The view to the University Church of St Mary's to the front was stunning.

    Cons -

    • The weather!
    • Being central location, and an old building (which I assume is listed), it is busy on the main street to the front of the hotel. Vehicle noise (buses, taxi's etc.) and pedestrians returning passing by in the early hours after a good night were heard. I have to emphasis this is not the hotels fault but if you wish for a quite evening then ask for a room not overlooking the main road to the front of the hotel.
    • 450 pounds per nigjt for a small mediocre room in a old hotel.

Location was excellent. Views were beautiful over the rooftops of Oxford. Bed was extremely confortable with lovely sheets and great smellies. Free parking was a bonus!

Location really central. Staff really friendly and helpful. Phoned a week before to see if we needed parking and reserved it for us.

No complaints- would stay again and recommend.

Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable room, free parking, lovely restaurant.

The location was good, and personally, I like paintings, so I enjoyed seeing many artworks displayed in the lobby, hallway, and inside the room. And when I requested water or in-room dining, I was able to receive prompt service.

At first glance, it looks clean, but since it’s a very old building, the floor is uneven, and the walls give off the smell of old, rotting wood. Although double-pane windows were installed, they are poorly made, and the outer windows are so old that they fail to effectively block external noise. Throughout my stay, I was constantly disturbed by the noise of ventilation fans and car traffic from outside. Not only was there noise from outside, but I also had to endure various sounds like footsteps from the floor above and the opening and closing of doors. It’s difficult to overlook the issues, even considering it as an old, traditional building. If they want to present themselves as a five-star hotel, structural improvements to the building are urgently needed.Even though there was a small elevator, it was very difficult to move luggage because there were multiple fire doors and stairs to pass through before reaching halfway. There was a lack of adequate assistance from the staff.

Exceptionally helpful and pleasant staff. Immaculate room and a lovely restaurant. Location is perfect for central Oxford.

Adding a service charge to the bill on departure sneaky.

Regarding breakfast: Service was a wow. The entire staff seemed happy to be there and very welcoming. Food was excellent.Regarding rooms: spacious, bright, modern, clean, great views, wonderful shower.Regarding dinner: we enjoyed a lovely dinner in the outdoor courtyard.Staff at the whole property (desk, housekeeping, restaurants) is terrific.

The only negative - trying to access the parking lot from the very narrow street was a real challenge. Don't try this with a large car.

Was a bit tight turning into the car park in a big car

    9GeorginaPosted on: 1-5-2026

Beautiful big room with spacious bathroom. Very comfortable and quiet. Staff very friendly. Amazing location on high street and near all colleges.

Breakfast not as good as we had hoped for the price.

Fantastic customer service - check-in team was incredibly knowledgeable with local tips and nothing was too much trouble - brought toothpaste to the room when we forgot it! Booking a parking space was really valuable - allowed us to make the most of our time in Oxford. Great to be able to watch Sky Sports in the room/cast to TV.

No sweetener in the tea/coffee tray. Cleaner in the adjacent room was noisy quite early in the morning which woke us. Sink didn’t drain well.

Located in Oxford city centre with view of University Church and All Souls college Fantastic staff and facilities and rooms was spacious and beautifully designed with exceptional bathroom. Best hotel bath towels ever

    10CynthiaPosted on: 12-25-2025

The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were in excellent condition and immaculate and stylish. The location was the best in Oxford. The staff couldn’t have been better. Everyone one we dealt with was gracious, friendly and helpful. The hotel went through great effort to decorate for the holidays and it was truly a magical experience.

Everything was excellent and there was even parking for hotel guests behind the building. But be aware the alley entrance is quite narrow and it’s hard to get larger vehicles into the parking lot.
