    Pros +

    • The location was great, close to the main part of town and very near Gloucester Green
    • Amazing location, room was very clean and recently had some updates to improve issues reported in previous reviews, sink had a filter which made the water perfect to drink/refil bottles, staff was very friendly when interacting
    • This is an expensive location, so for the price, it was perfectly fine. A quiet neighborhood and central location.

    Cons -

    • The website said breakfast would be available in the restaurant attached to the hotel. That has been discontinued. Also, staff was only available in the evenings.
    • carpet could use an update, mattress was not terribly comfortable
    • The room was very basic , but was clean and was perfectly fine for a night.

Rooms 2 and 3 were spacious and comfortable, accommodating our family of five very fittingly. The location was near to everything whilst being in a quiet and calm neighborhood.

The cleanliness left a little to be desired, but wasn't worth mentioning during our stay; we made do just fine.

The property itself was a short work to central Oxford and out of the busy areas which was great. There was also a convenience store, bars and a coffee shop around the corner. The bedding was clean and comfortable.

The room we stayed in wasn’t clean. While surfaces had been wiped down, the bathroom needed a good scrub as it had layers of limescale and grime build up. Carpets were stained. The staff also weren’t responsive to messages or phone calls. While it was cheaper than other accommodation, it wasn’t cheap enough for the challenges. Visitors should also note rooms weren’t clean up flights of stairs and while this didn’t affect us, someone with mobility issues would struggle.

    good location.

Staff is generally not available to help you until late afternoon. Which can be very bad if you lock yourself out or need something. Very very small rooms.

    Location was decent

Unacceptable Experience – Would Not RecommendWe arrived early to The Jericho Hotel in Oxford and they offered to store our bags for us while we explored the town. When we returned later, we found the door propped open with a chair and our bags sitting just inside — completely unsecured. It was concerning, as anyone could have walked in and taken our belongings. At first, we noticed an odor in the room but didn’t think much of it. We went out again for a few hours, but when we came back, the smell was overpowering — unmistakably cat urine. My daughter’s bag had been left on the floor, which we now saw was wet, and unfortunately, her bag and most of the belongings inside had absorbed the smell. We informed a worker, who simply said, “There haven’t been any cats in there,” and offered no solution or help. At that point, it was clear we could not stay in the room. We returned the key and left to find another hotel. What should have been an evening spent enjoying Oxford turned into hours of washing clothes and trying to salvage our things. This experience was incredibly disappointing and we would absolutely not recommend this hotel.

Quirky place above a Middle Eastern Restaurant. Staff was friendly & helpful. The room was small but clean with all the amenities - coffee & pot, TV, wi-fi. The location was wonderful: quiet, and only .3 mile to the Ashmolean and .5 to the Martyr's Monument & busses. There are steep stairs to the rooms (no lift) but staff assisted with our bags. The bathroom was only big enough for 1 person but everything worked. The shower (step up!) had plenty of hot water (& the head is adjustable for height).

Our room had 2 twin beds but because of the small size should really have had 1 queen. The beds were junior twin instead of standard, just a bit too small for normal sized adults. And the combo coverlet was not much larger than the bed which was aggravating when you rolled over & pulled it off or to the side. We saw a larger twin room that would have been perfect.

Very cozy in a quiet location. Staff were very helpful when I needed to drop off my suitcase before checkin.

    Clean and perfect location

    Beds not very comfortable

Staff are located in the restaurant next door - were friendly and helpful, room was very clean, bed was comfortable. The room isn't attractive, furnishings are old but functional. Fridge. Double glazing. Good value.

No lift - The room was on the top floor with three steep flights to get up so I had to ask the staff of the adjacent restaurant to help me up with my bags, really they should just offer to help. For some reason the towels are on a shelf that's so high I couldn't reach them, almost at ceiling height need to stand on the bidet to reach them. The shower controls were also so high I also couldn't easily reach and I am not unusually short at 5'2".

    Good

There is no room service and no 24-hour staff to contact in case of emergency. It's less of a hotel and more of a house.

Great location, bed comfortable, rooms had all you need

Tired and tatty in places not clear how to check in

    Bathroom was basic

Good location in Jericho, easy walk to centre of town

Could do with an update. Massive mould stain in entry hallway which isn’t a great first impression! Bathroom for my room was located across the hall which was a little strange. It’s cheap but still wouldn’t say great value for money.

The room was fine, fairly central location in quiet area, no breakfast though.

The hotel was basically a restaurant with rooms. The website offered 'room service' and 24/7 reception. There was certainly no sign of any staff other than those in the restaurant and no information about how to access these services other than a mobile phone number. I was shown my room by a young man who gave me a key and pointed vaguely in its direction, along a corridor and through a fire door which had been wedged open.

Great location and good value for money..

Rooms were clean but needed some TLC eg mastic and grout in bathroom. Single beds in twin rooms quite narrow.Needs more wardrobe space.Security is poor as one key opens the front door and all the rooms! Potential to be a safeguarding issue if children or vulnerable adults staying as well as risk of theft.Doors to rooms have daylight visible around them so would be ineffective as fire doors. No staff present on arrival which was after earliest check in time. Spent 5 minutes looking and knocking before someone arrived. Tried ringing disconnected after 1 ring. Demonstrated this to staff member. He didn’t seem concerned.Loud drilling at 0840 Sunday morning replacing a sink in the room next door! Checkout is 11 am.Some sites state hotel can provide a continental breakfast. It doesn’t.

It was a short walk from the city centre.

The walls of the hallway were covered in mold, and our bathroom smelled of mildew after showering. It was difficult to find the entrance, and the staff gave us little information once we managed to find them.

We arrived by train. This location perfect. Staff very helpful
