Holiday Inn Manchester Central Park By IHG

Plenty of room in the car park to rebook another stay in a different hotel although getting threatened with a parking fine whilst I was having to book!!

The fact that i had no contact as to this booking, holiday inn or booking.com had not tried to rebook us somewhere else. Arriving on the day to find that the hotel was closed and being let out to immigrants wasn’t a great start to a nice weekend!! Having to rebook a different hotel on the day isn’t easy when it’s a bank holiday!! Not happy at all. I am hoping that no charges have been made to my credit cards but yet to check the bills as of yet. Utterly disgraceful.

When we got to the hotel the manager said we could not stay here even though we had paid the money as this hotel was for asylum seekers only we had to go find another hotel and pay again we have been trying to fight our case through booking. Com but with no reply we are now seeking action through a solicitor

When we arrived we were informed that we no longer had a reservation as the hotel was for asylum seekers, this left us without accommodation and to find elsewhere! We would have appreciated knowing this info before arriving as it was still showing active and confirmed on Booking.com

We didn’t stay at the property as it was being used as an asylum seekers hotel. Whilst booking.com helped find us alternative accommodation, they haven’t responded to our complaint sent 3wks ago!

Booked with booking.com who took payment promptly - but failed to advise that the hotel had been closed for over a year. Still waiting for customer service to get back in contact

Turning up and finding the hotel was shut because they had let asylum seekers have the hotel was a laugh!!!. We actually booked this last October through booking.com Was nice to be able to book even though it was shut then and nothing was mentioned!!! Booking.com are an absolute disgrace of a company to deal with…

Getting scammed through the hotel was also a highlight. They communicated directly through booking.com - messaging us about needing to have a new card on file. Looks like the clever asylum seekers knew how to take control of the hotels messages and setup a nice fake website link to rinse me of some money. Booking.com have had no interest in refunding me or even looking into what has gone wrong. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

Arrived at the hotel to be told that it wasn't open to the public, no warnings from the hotel or booking.com beforehand to say the hotel is no longer in use, just left to arrive to be told by a security guard. Had to book another hotel & drive 40 minutes away.Cancelled the booking but still have a £95 cancellation fee pending. I messaged the hotel & booking.com 3 days ago now & not heard a thing back from any of them, disgusting on both parts

Room was cancelled and hotel closed without telling us…had to source other accommodation as customer service didn’t get back to us

I was informed when I arrived that they are no longer taking paying guests as they are housing asylum seekers. The security man who informed when I arrived was very polite.

The staff were helpful and directed us to a new hotel which we could book.

The property is being used for asylum seekers so our booking didn’t exist once we got to the hotel. Very disappointed by booking.com as they should have removed this hotel.

Nothing - got there and was told the hotel had been taken over for asylum seekers after travelling 3 hours with not even an email letting us know - leaving us with no where to stay

Horrendous experience

Everything as it wasn’t trading as a hotel anymore and booking.com failed to tell us and we didn’t find out until we got there on the day of our stay!!!

Well satisfied with the accommodation, the friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff and the location - so near to the AO arena and the city

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely bed comfortable

No bin liner in bin. Fine dust in areas. Bathroom floor tiles were very soft.

The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast adequate.

The pillows were far to small and hard. The carpets in the room needed changing as they were stained.

easy to get to location by car, very good size car park with lots of parking spaces. very close to the Manchester Central Park tramway stop, just around the corner. very warm bedding with nice space rooms.

make sure you get receipts and keep them when you check in/arrive. as due to staff error, I was almost charged twice for breakfast and car parking fee which I had paid for on arrival. also you can hear the other guests in the room corridors going back and forth due to other guests behaviour. on the last nights of stay, overnight a confused guest or guests mistook their room for mine and did try to open my room door which I awoke to banging on my room door.
