Clean room, heaters, helpful reception, nice location, self catering kitchen and luggage area after check out

    10AloziePosted on: 2-15-2026

Very Clean and classy shared bedroom. With a confortable charging port for each bed.

The toilet is inside the room closed to the beds, which obviously will produce a bad smell when in used and disconfort other guest.

    Clean rooms, friendly staff

For a family room with 5 people, it is very cramped and uncomfortable.

Hostel was easy to find if you come from Piccadilly train station. You can take the free bus 1, get off at the Science museum then walk straight ahead for 8-10mins until you reach the canal, and there it is on the left side by the Giant's Basin. Very good location to get to the main city center area. There are shops near by like Sainsbury's or Cost Cutter right across the street. They also have a self catering kitchen where you can cook or make quick meals/drinks. The lounge area was pleasant and well furnished, with board/aracade ames, pool table and even books. The room was nice and spacious, bathroom was clean and in good condition. There was plenty of storage space for all the guests to leave their luggage or coats. Premises have only 2 floor but fully accesible by elevator. Other facilities include parking, bar and free water refill station too in the lounge reception area.

The windows were a bit fussy to open/close and the soundproofing was not the best. But with some earplugs and a mini curtain attached to your own bed may make the stay more pleasant.

Great value for money, I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm and the room was spacious, comfortable bed and very clean. The entire place was well designed and plenty of space the chill out. Enjoyed that there was a kitchen for self catering meals. Not too far to walk to the train station and bus stops.

Would of loved friendlier staff and laundry facilities would've been helpful. More toilets on the dorm levels

Great value for money, nice positive vibe in the whole place

The windows were so thin, it sounded as if we had no windows at all. Could hear the full conversations of people outside & the noise levels were very high

Staff are friendly. The place is clean. People are nice. Facilities are good.

    The mattress is too thin.

    8ElizabethPosted on: 1-25-2026

The hostel is very nice spotless, well located. Staff was polite, the size of the room was big enough, the view was wonderful to the canal and the bridge. There had no time enough for taste the breakfast.

Even though I was delighted with the spotless room and bathroom inside the problem was the shower. The shower wasn’t hot water at all. On Saturday I got a cold shower and Sunday I should’ve used the outside common shower.

Great value, comfortable beds, own small shower room, lovely view of the canal. Very nice reception area. Good community kitchen. Good communication before visit. Helpful staff. Good food at reasonable prices

    3AbhishekPosted on: 1-19-2026

Clean rooms and bathroom. Most of the staff was friendly.

Lack of basic facilities for such a large and expensive hostel. No laundry and spotty wifi.Had to walk 25 min to the nearest laundry place. The Indian girl at the reception was also very rude sometimes.

    9chloePosted on: 1-19-2026

The cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in! I was in a shared female only dorm and there were 4 of us with our own bathroom, which is a great ratio. There were heaters and windows and natural light - sometimes not the case. The dining / common area was spacious and lit with lots of places to sit if you were alone or in a group. Really well planned out. I'd definitely stay again.

The mattresses were made of rubber, and the fitted sheet on the top was very thin, so it was uncomfortably hot

    8NadarajahPosted on: 1-18-2026

Very accessible close to shops, university town centre etc…

    8IonPosted on: 1-15-2026

Iconic view in the dining area along the canal, the brick and metal train and tram bridges, the boats on the water... and a guy smoking. True Cottonopolis. Worth to be there for at least a day.

    9CosminPosted on: 1-12-2026

I went there with my 17 years old son for a football game. Considering the child in a foreign country, i felt the location was safe, i had no worries at all about this. Plus, it was a few minutes from public transport. The staff was nice with smiling faces, always up for help. The other guests were also nice and quiet. The room was cozy and the heater was more than warm all the time. We were not cold at all.I will definitely go there again.

    7LonedreamerPosted on: 1-8-2026

Great staff, friendly and helpfull. Common areas with good furniture. Bar open with flexible hours. Good behavioral advisories relevant to silent time. Common toilet room and common shower room in the floor. Beds provided with usb and electric sockets.

Very small toilet and shower room inside the bedroom. No curtains around the beds. Quite far from public transport.

The breakfast was good for the price. The location was in the centre of the city that you can access all the main places in Manchester

    8Elizabeth0773Posted on: 1-4-2026

Location as it's great for families with the science museum a few minutes walk away and the local tram service at deansgate

The communal toilets and showers smelled in the walkway
