    Pros +

    • Spa is excellent.
    • A lovely hotel with excellent soundproofing in the rooms — I couldn’t hear anything from the lobby, even at its busiest. The staff and doormen were incredibly friendly, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I will definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Liverpool and would love to stay here again.
    • Place looked lovely and rooms were nice.

    Cons -

    • I wanted a nice restaurant for Saturday night and couldn’t get a booking online myself so turned to Concierge. They had not tricks to help snag a table or decent alternatives to offer. I expected more from a high-end brand (they were v nice to be clear)
    • Arrived after 3 but couldn't check in till nearly 4 o'clock which wasn't good. My hubby asked how long was the wait. Was told don't know. Big disappointment as was for husbands birthday. A lot of money as you could not even check in on time.
    • Dinner on the main floor restaurant was not very good. Avacado whip with cherry tomatoes on top. Not a very good salad. Lobster mac and cheese had no taste, bland.

Breakfast was very good. Service at the bar good and surrounding booths and bar tables good.

Good Staff and got a complementary drink as the housekeeping took awhile to prepare the room. Decor was extremely beautiful in the bar and old architecture in the center of Liverpool which made it easy t travel.

Took awhile to get the room setup from the housekeeping team and was late for a liverpool game which we wanted to see the preamble of the game. Staff did apologize and helped us with directions though.

The breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced. We were delighted to discover we had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was luxurious and a wonderful experience. The afternoon tea offered by Anna and her staff was extraordinary.

Central city location and historic decor

Our room faced an interior wall with barely any natural light

Stunning hotel, excellent staff with very clean rooms and nice and quiet.

The only thing I was disappointed in is that the pool was apart of the spa facilities and you had to pay £50 each time to use it. It would of been nice as a resident to be able to use the pool as part of the facilities without charge as it’s nice to have a swim when staying in a hotel but you don’t always want to use the spa.

Gorgeous hotel and great location.Beautiful room, stunning bar and amazing staff who could not do enough for us

The cost of breakfast at £25 each.

The hotel was stunning, really beautiful facilities. The staff were really accommodating, friendly, polite and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. I also really enjoyed the spa facilities.

The breakfast and afternoon tea could've been better quality. The tea was great, but the sandwiches were a little dry. The breakfast had great choice, but the quality and taste just weren't amazing, I have definitely had better.

The staff, all of them without exception, where very friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. That is a huge plus. The lobby bar was one of the most attractive that we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying: the service and the quality of the food & beverages were excellent. The only disappointment was the size of the room (small enough to make it difficult to occupy comfortably) and the strength of the water flow in the shower (weak). But the bed was awesome! Probably one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Overall, great location, fantastic staff, just a room which was a tad on the small size even though perfectly formed.

    Please see above.

    Clean. Good location.

Poor lightning - it was dark like in the cave. The suite was on the ground floor facing the central street, so it feels like visible to pedestrians on the street. The smell of dampness in the room.

Wonderful building, lovely interiors and a great location

We were getting in a little bit early and I believe check-in was three and we got there at two and they couldn’t accommodate us with our room despite several attempts in communicating with him. I ended up having to pay for an upgrade so my wife and I could have a shower after we arrived and started our day in Londonthat was a bit of a bummer

In a good Location .. Spa staff exceptionally friendly

Room check in could not find my booking ... Room was exceptionally dirty especially the bathroom on checkin was unacceptable and rugs had not seen a hoover .. Difficult to get anyone on the phone for room service or enquiry .. Had someone actually hang up the phone in middle of a conversation. Room service trays would come dirty and on 3 occasions half opened and used bottles of ketchup which were for single use were on the tray .. Food below average ..

Great venue, lots of character - friendly helpful staff great food and clean/well maintained

Restricted use of pool, which i expected to be part of the hotel, and not linked to the Spa.I asked for the invoices to be emailed to me, but not yet received.

Couldn’t get any service in hotel bar library

The whole experience was 100% professional and the staff was very friendly. Mini bar with water, lifts very quick, roomy bathroom, bed was super comfortable, breakfast in bed, wow I can go on Amazing stay ❤️ We was in are own element with the menu of the pillows..... so soft and comfortable It was like sleeping on a cloud

The prices were a little high at the bar but to be fair it was excellent service and all the staff where very friendly

Fantastic location around the corner from Mathew Street. Friendly staff

When making booking on booking.com it wasn't clear that we wouldn't have access to the spa without paying an additional charge. This was only pointed out on our booking confirmation.

The hotel is gorgeous and really well-located in Liverpool. We were only there for a short time, but were able to walk to explore the city. And the pictures are true - the lobby, in particular was amazing. Though the rooms were tiny, they are well-appointed.

We were super disappointed in the breakfast experience. We came downstairs to breakfast around 9:30am. It seems the hotel was hosting a large wedding and they were overwhelmed. That said, our options were to pay 25€ for a buffet that was out of most food, including eggs, or wait *30 minutes* to order a la carte! It was really disappointing, especially given the price of the hotel. We just expected more.
