    • Nothing. It?s old.?..in major need of a makeover. Inside and outside. The only pleasant thing was the night porter. Very friendly and courteous. That?s about it.
    • The staff were friendly.
    • Perfect location with free parking, for going to Anfield for a match.

    Cons -

    • ?--- for a room with a 10 year old. Absolute rip off. To include breakfast which was a cold buffet. Hopped into the shower only to realise there was NO shower gel. Paid for the room upon arrival and was then hit for another 50 deposit
    • The property is very outdated. When we arrived at our room it had a terrible odour, was cold and damp. We were in the room for a couple of hours and could hear the guests next door as the walls are paper thin. The door at the front kept getting stuck and our room door looked as if it didn’t even lock. There was a door in the hall that banged very loudly every-time someone went through.
    • It was a very cold weekend and the heating wasn’t on when we arrived. The property has large, old windows so the room was very cold. When we returned to the room later the heating was on and it was warmer but given the weather, needed to be on all day.

Staff were all amazing, polite and helpful. No issues there whatsoever.Bed was comfy and clean. Check out was quick and easy.Ideal for a 1 night stay.

Parking is not guaranteed as advertised, there are only a few spaces and was completely full, so we had to find space on the road. Short queue for check in, but was offered tea or coffee whilst we waited. £50 deposit which is not guaranteed to be returned for 30 days. Our room was really cold, was snowing outside and our radiator was barely on. You can hear pretty much everything from the room, people slamming doors, going in and out of their rooms, walking up and down the stairs, floor creaking from the above rooms. Shower pressure was really slow.Breakfast was really basic, no hot food, was just picky bits really. The building is really outdated, as is the interiors.

Clean, comfortable & friendly staff, that's all we ask for.

    Nothing really.

The room was pleasant but could do with an update , bedding and towels very clean, continental breakfast had plenty choice and staff were lovely

unfortunately shower was very awkward to get in and out past the sink and the door to the bathroom did not open fully as it banged of a cupboard that contained the boiler.

    9MartinPosted on: 2-10-2026

Stay was exceptional and I was upgraded to an apartment from a double room as I had booked for almost a week.

The only minor disappointment was only having a continental breakfast option as opposed to a full cooked breakfast choice.

    Not far from the stadium.

On the outside looking in the property does not look great. Once inside it perks up a little but not great again. The rooms are very run down. The best thing about our room was the shower room and again thats at a push.Shower and toilet are close together and if you have muscles or a bit of a belly you will struggle to fit on the toilet. The room floor was dirty and broken in places, the beading around the edges was broken in multiple places and loose. The walls have clearly got damp issues and is smothered in very thick paint to try and hide it. There was coffee/tea or food marks up the walls. The clean bedding had stains all over them. There was sweats and chocolate on the floor from previous guests. The lamp was loose and broken. The lamps on the wall were loose and the shades were broken. The breakfast was poor, its continental only, the cheese was hard think as if you had left it out in the fridge and it starts to crack. Looking at the cheese and seeing the meats i chose to stay away from them all.The bar on the evening had no draft on tap at allSelected bottles 3 for £10 but again only a selected few,Asked for the football on the tv and told the tv didn’t work in the bar and don’t have any football. For a busy weekend it was very poor.Service in the bar was poor, 2 girls working front of desk and dealing with any problems what came in the hotel aswell as running the bar so waiting for a drink was anywhere between 2 minutes to 5-10 minutes.I paid £165 for a 1 night stay for me and my son for the footy. All i wanted was a double bed for us to share. I called the hotel and asked the question and i was told no he must go in his own bed and pay the extra for a double and a single.£50 deposit on arrival takes 5-10 days. This should be immediately returned not a week or so down the line.Parking at the hotel was nonexistent as it was a busy hotel and only around 10 spaces outside so we parked on the main road with no issues.

    Leaving

Rooms need paint and a general tidy up showing there age. Breakfast was also disappointing would have liked cooked.

The check in lady was friendlyThe bed was comfortable

The double room was tiny, with the en suite in what would have originally been been a cupboard The bathroom in room 81 smelled - we couldn't open the door to air it as it then made the bedroom smellThe room was incredibly small - seriously me and my partner couldn't walk past each other at the end of the bed, it was one at a time Other residents were noisy - not helped by the laminate floors. This was both late at night and early in the morning We were in the annex building and despite the sign, other people did not ensure the exterior door was closed which made it feel unsafe (especially given the area)Car Parking was not good - due to no bays being marked other residents parked haphazardly, and some did double park making it unusable We were charged £158 (a Saturday night) which we now feel was scandalous, as other nights the cost is around £45ishThe hotel needs lots of updating and TLC - peeling wallpaper, threadbare/dirty rugs, none of the draft beers were availableWe did not bother going for the Continental breakfastI did tell the lady at check out I will not use this hotel again, and I would not recommend

    Very basic and not presented...

First impression on arriving was looked very worn out, inside did look better but when walking to the room it was horrible, tripped while walking to the room as the carpet wasn’t in the floor grip, opened the door to the room and it was grim, stain on the wall, floor dirty, bathroom dirty, broken toilet seat, bed was uncomfortable, one thin pillow each, we didn’t even stay we watched the game and drive home, didn’t even want a change of room as the hotel didn’t give me high hopes on any room

    Good

They charged me the £50 deposit and it wasn’t until I chased repeatedly that I got my money back. I am in disbelief at how long this charge took to be refunded.

This beautiful old building is in desperate need of upgrading before she becomes as dismal as her surroundings. I was confused by the need to pay a security bond upon check-in but quickly realised that accidental damage is unavoidable. This old love is so deprived of care that she crumbles at the human touch, with both the bathroom door handle and shower rail collapsing once held. Tiny showers, decrepit furniture, a sprinkling of dust and dirt and room keys that consistently failed to work, leaving one trapped outside and tempted to do a runner added to the “charm”of this budget friendly hotel. HOWEVER, the staff were bloody amazing. Friendly, courteous and generous when it came to pouring a glass of red, so much so that we were too hung over to sample the included breakfast. Parking was also a definite plus. So, a mixed review for this one. It’s a bit like seeing your granny dressed up and wearing her lippy before realising she has forgotten her dentures and knickers…a bit shocking, a bit funny and definitely memorable.

    Helpful staff

Breakfast Toaster poor Couldn’t have eggs, said they stop cooking half hour before breakfast ended

Very close to the shops and town centre. Free car park. Breakfast was good, my partner expected cooked breakfast with bacon and beans. Nice and helpful staff, bar on the ground floor.

In need of deep clean and updating. Cobwebs on every chandelier.
