- Beautiful location and outdoor
- Doggie friendly and lovely grounds and staff
Cons -
- It needs a bigger pool area and a second Jacuzzi
- Small poorly equipped room as for 4 star hotel . Old tv , fridge did not work ,window view to the bins, no robes which would be ideal to use spa
- We upgraded £20 per night to a room with a garden view. Our room (room 129) does not have a view of any description, other then that of flat roof and a fence!!!

Doggie friendly and lovely grounds and staff
The staff were really friendly and welcoming, the rooms were as we expected and the health club was amazing, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and the pool itself. Had a wonderful time :)
Very good
We upgraded £20 per night to a room with a garden view. Our room (room 129) does not have a view of any description, other then that of flat roof and a fence!!!
Was clean and welcoming
The people working at the swimming bath area should be more welcoming
Great location and lovely lobby / bar / restaurant. Rooms cosy and clean. Staff were all really friendly and atmosphere in downstairs of hotel lovely with live music in the evenings.
Bathrooms abit drab / dated - not really a lot of toiletries. Toilet seat and tiles all scratches.Spa facilities felt more like public swimming baths not very relaxing - although we didn’t have treatments so can’t comment on that!
Beautiful building, warm, great night sleep and the staff were personable, friendly and welcoming.
Could do with an extra coffee machine in the breakfast room.
Lovely place. Lovely grounds staff were friendly and polite.
Shower was to small. And think they let to many people in spa. Jacuzzi was always to full and lucky got seat by the pool.
The hotel was very nice and the staff polite but all went wrong when in the Spa.
Paid for my partner and I to use the spa and have a massage. Spa was full of children jumping in the pool, a swimming lesson was taking place and the staff were condescending when we spoke to them.
The hotel was really nice and very well kept.
The staff were really nice and friendly and all spoke and smiled throughout the stay, they were very welcoming. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of food for all you could want and the restaurant for the evening meal was very reasonable in price and the food was good. Having the use of the spa was great. The grounds were beautiful.I highly recommend this hotel
We have stayed here before so had expectations as to what to expect, but all members of staff exceeded all expectations due to their friendly, professional and dedicated commitment to customer satisfaction. While food was excellent, well cooked, presented and served and always used quality ingredients.
Nothing, just looking forward to our next stay at Oulton Hall.
Very pretty location, the communal hotel areas looked fab. Great staff, very friendly
Hotel rooms dated, not super clean and poor condition Hotel pool had swimming lessons on, not relaxing. Not super warm pool
Room and bed very comfortable.Overnight stay including breakfast & use of spa good value for money.Hotel amenities very good & it's a fun place to stay. Restaurant staff very friendly and attentive.
Breakfast was very average, sadly: bread quite stale, eggs cold, coffee awful and croissants dry.
The spa
My room was dirty with cob webs everywhere, my shower in my room didn’t work and was dribbling water, when I asked for poached eggs for breakfast they came out raw and clear (not cooked) which I very dangerous, when I told the staff you might want to mention the eggs are not cooked they done nothing, when checking out I wasn’t asked about my stay so I mentioned to reception my stay was terrible and listed the above they couldn’t care less and just wanted to take money.
It was clean and comfortable. Beautiful setting.
The spa should be available until maybe 10:00pm to allow those who arrive late to use it.
Really lovely hotel, great location, very clean and well equipped - lovely atmosphere. Went for business but would love to go back on a leisure basis & would recommend.
I booked a double room for approx £135 per night on a Monday. The hotel is lovely however the room itself overlooked the hotel bins. I immediately asked if there were other rooms available given that it was a Monday and they were probably not at full capacity, the front receptionist said that for a room with a view I would need to pay for an ‘upgrade’ for £30 and this was because they are newly refurbished rooms. I was Quite disappointed to have had this response, it seems like the hotel are penny pinching and happy to give the old outdated rooms overlooking the bins as their entry level standard doubles. There was noise throughout the night with bins being emptied wns for this reason I won’t be returning as I cannot book an upgraded room on a business trip. Breakfast was fine though the normal standard fare, the sausages were passable. Spa was fine. The overall hotel building is beautiful, it’s a shame the receptionist wasn’t more accommodating.Rooms came with two bottles of water.
Checkout was equally brusque. Overall the staff were not very friendly or accommodating, from the spa, to the front desk.
Potentially a nice hotel in a nice setting.
The staff are not happy with the management! Every time! The choice of piped music is dire, house music with an audience 50+ in lounge area.It needs a manager that actually has a sense of purpose and understands the word Hospitality which requires, an understanding of fine detail, It gives every impression of being run by accountants and we all know where that leads.
Lunch in the bar. Late night in the Champagne bar was friendly
