The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We ate at the restaurant and were really well looked after, The room was very comfortable and bigger than we expected - no camera tricks in the photos.
A comfortable stay, and perfect for one night away for work. Ideal for NEC. A clean and spacious room.
Due to location the hum from the main road was little noisy.
Easy check in. We were leaving at 4 am so couldn't really take advantage or check out the other amenities. Nice quiet location and good access to the A45.
Breakfast was pretty good but the staffing level is very light. I ordered a cooked breakfast but it really wasn't up to my expectations, quality was decent but two eggs on 1/2 slice of toast was not what I expected.
Small cooked breakfast. Children had to pay full price for breakfast. Wifi was non existent for me, just wouldn't connect on iPhone.
outdoor patio for drinks, restaurant and parking facilities
Because of my disability, I had requested a downstairs room, sadly it was not provided and caused much discomfort getting to my room with the help of my wife. The hotel and rooms are looking a little tired and would certainly benefit from a facelift.
The size and cleanliness of the room was excellent. The staff were really friendly and worked really hard to make sure all the guests were well looked after. The breakfast was really good and there were excellent choices.
It was a bit tired around the edges and could do with some refurbishment.
Comfortable room, nice garden and beautiful surroundings. Decent coffee and well served beer.
Booking team didn't liase with housekeeping staff properly and room was not adequately stocked for 2 people. The restaurant/dining experience was an absolute disaster. We checked in just before 9pm after a very long days travel and work. Staff behind the bar rushed through a good order as they were being provoked by the kitchen team/chefs as they were desperate to close and leave the site for the day. When told we were staying as guests, the attitude changed completely. Starters were adequate and well flavoured, value for money and for finished without complaint. Main courses were absolutely abysmal, one being overly sweet and tasted clearly straight from a container and the other a steak quite frankly disgusting. Food was cold, steak was overcooked and poor quality meat. Very, very poor. I was refunded and told that the kitchen staff had left as well for the day..Bottom line - For a restaurant to have a team of chefs more interested in rushing orders through, (all food coming at once in fact) and then leaving when people should be given the chance to order is absolutely wrong on every level. The quality of the main courses was poor and the fact it was rushed out really was annoying. If you want somewhere with good transport links and a nice garden to stay, this is the place. If you want to eat well and feel you're being accommodated by the restaurant team properly, stick to starters only and arrive before 7pm as the chefs/kitchen team clearly can't cope or manage at anytime after that.
the food was delicious - we had Easter dinner and we had drinks out on the patio. Our room was spacious and quiet with a pretty view of the water and wilderness
the towels were a bit scratchy but that's being picky i guess.
Excellent breakfast, plenty of everything. We also had a meal on arrival which we found very reasonably priced.Location was easy to find even with the on going road works in the local area.
A minor niggle, we had to pump the toilet to make it flush. The air pressure bag in the flush mechanism probably needs replacing ( we had something similar recently at home!).
Location, room too far for disabled guestDinner for 9 excellent, staff super friendly with banter no frostyness or woke here!
Breakfast on Sunday was lacking zest, sausages and bacon and tomato need more cooking time, feel that C&B need to prep their kitchens earlier to meet an 0800hrs demand?
Room was spacious and clean. Staff very friendly and welcoming.Breakfast service was OK, again staff excellent, lovely location, large car park with lots of CCTV coverage and good outside seating area, with seperate no-smoking area well away from the smoking area.
Bacon very salty at breakfast. Not really enough coffee provided but these were minor. We also had an issue with the shower, the tap and regulator fell apart while my wife was in the shower. Managed to reassemble it enough to turn the shower off, reported to reception
Great location, fantastic staff, especially Mark. Water was hot. Pub made space for us when we arrived for evening meal. Tea and coffee selection in the room was good. Great location for NEC. Definitely would stay again.
Shower curtain was not weighted and therefore gets sucked into shower space. Toilet paper was adequate. No tissues in the room.
Large, clean & comfortable room. Nice quiet location, next to river. Large free car park. Friendly & welcoming staff. Excellent fresh cooked breakfast with quality ingredients.
Friendly staff, nice location and good choice of food.
Easy to find , lovely big room with excellent shower. Staff very friendly and helpful
The room was clean and comfortable, food great and staff so friendly and helpful
Loved the size of the room and the big bed. Loved having my own radiator to control. Loved the spacious bathroom and great towels. Loved the shower pressure. I love the choice of food on the menu and also Aspel cider on tap.
The chairs are a little tired and also the headboards and outside woodwork. At the end of the day it didn't really bother me as I have stayed there before and will stay there again .
