    Pros +

    • Stay somewhere else
    • new clean and stylish
    • We booked LEVEL OBEN paid full price of 750€ per night ! No upgrade even if possible. Breakfast was very poor for a lounge and service was as well poor ! Happy hour was very very poor in quality and choice. Reception at lounge was not friendly, no smiling and not helpful ! with exception of a Spanish lady!

    Cons -

    • The rat that was roaming around the plates and cutlery where people get their items for breakfast. The staff did nothing about the issue
    • staff in the lounge, check in staff, breakfast at the lounge, happy hour lounge, room cleaning, just forgot to clean the bathroom and only put the towels !!
    • For the cost of over 700 euro's a night this was exceptionally poor value the hotel was akin to a 3/4 star hotel. the room smelt of sweat/body odour on arrival wo we had to spray the room with deodorant. there was no coffee machine which for the cost of the room is extraordinary. the towels were very thin. the room was cold and difficult to change the temperature. the plastic flooring was awful. the restaurant was fully booked for our entire stay. the buffet dinner downstairs was congealed and not at all appetising. the breakfast was chaos, no teaspoons anywhere near the coffee machines, staff were curt and told me to look for them on the other side of the restaurant. the layout was bad, the jam and condiments were no where near the toast. the clear away staff were arguing loudly and for a long time next to our table. And the breakfast itself was very basic, not what I would expect for this kind of money. I've, in fact never been in such a badly valued hotel.

Very well located, easy to reach by car and decent parking offering (e-charging included), and with plenty of public transportation available at close distance. The building is nice and modern, rooms modern and spacious. The restaurant and bar on the 15th floor are very nice, and personnel is super friendly and efficient. We loved the stay in all aspects.

Parking is expensive (well, in Frankfurt it is so everywhere).

Spacious room and a great breakfast. Location very convenient for the marathon.

Online check-in did not work - had to go via the desk

Everything: facilities, staff, location, breakfast, bar on the roof top for a quick drink with colleagues.

The staff were friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was fine, with a reasonable variety. Overall, was in line with expectations.

Parking at the hotel is limited, so we had to use a nearby public car park as no spaces were available. We didn’t get the chance to try the spa or the gym, but they appeared to be on the smaller side and quite busy

We were in 1414 room on 31/12. We didn’t know what happened, up stairs it was noisy all night with moving furniture or luggages, i couldn’t sleep whole night, early morning babies was crying on the hallway, and we got breakfast time information from 7 to 11. But when my boyfriend came around 10:35 , they said it closed, we didn’t get anything like no entrance after 10:30 or something like that. Because we had long flight after check out, this is reason we paid more for breakfast. We have been there before, but this time staffs weren’t kind for helping moving trolley with full check in luggages , even though one guy from reception helped us little moved it to in front of desk, we still gave him tip for thanksgiving. So uncomfortable with this booking.

Hope in the future, hotel will available amenities for get with 4 stars level. Many thanks!

    OK but nothing special.

Problems with the booking. First booking via Booking.com was rejected by the hotel after I paid by AMEX. Had to do a second booking with a higher price. Still waiting for a refund of the first booking.Bed was too hard and not very comfortable. The bathroom was missing a separate shower. No privacy in the room. people from the office across look straight into your room. Only solution to close the curtains which is not a great solution.

It was my second time , the hotel was very good but parking place is deciding, since there is not any other parking place

How could an Hotel Not manage to organise parking Place ? It was Daily 45 € which is Not acceptable since the room price nearly the same price?

We arrived a bit earlier than expected from our London flight and the receptionist advise us to go to the Lounge Area in the 15th floor, where Lihn was waiting to accommodate and checked us in, Lihn advise us that we can have some drinks whilst waiting for the room to be ready. But we have booked a river cruise tour at 1pm, we needed to leave our luggage with Lihn and go to the tour first. When we came back at 5pm, IRENA/IRINA (I'm not sure about my spelling), was a superb Receptionist at the OBEN Lounge and made sure that we were looked after. (Irena/Irina even remembered and greeted us "Happy Anniversary" as we are celebrating our 23rd that is why we came to FRANKFURT to celebrate our anniversary and to see the CHRISTMAS Market which is very close by to the hotel which by the way is a bonus points for the hotel. Everything is closeby and you do not need to spend for expensive transportation. IRENA/Irina advised us that the lounge is open for tapas/canapes and drinks from 5-7pm, and checked us in a very lovely room on the 22nd floor with a nice balcony terrace (SUPERB VIEW)!!! Room also got good facility - NESPRESSO COFFEE MACHINE WAS A BIG HIT for us, as WE LOVE COFFEE SOOO MUCH!!! And on top of it all, the surprise amenities of Chocolate/Fruit Platter with a personal welcome note from ANDRES TOLON (Hotel Manager) and YESSICA (Guest Experience)... It was a very LOVELY Touch and it melts our heart...The OBEN Lounge Breakfast was amazing during our stay as we are also looked after by the waitress "Auntie ALICE"... superb customer service all throughout, good recommendation of hot foods to order....We will definitely come back and stay again at MELIA FRANKFURT CITY HOTEL in the near future... fingers crossed we might come back next year...

Before we retired for the night on our 1st day at the hotel, we approach a gentleman at the ground floor reception desk (could not see him name plate - so I did not get his name) We tried to get directions on how to go to our next tour the next day - we were enquiring how to get to - Frankfurt Wiesenhuettenplatz 38 or LE MERIDIEN HOTEL where we are supposed to be pick up at 9am on 29NOV for our Heidelberg, Castle and Old City Guided Tour....but the gentleman at the ground floor reception desk was not happy to help us --- he just said - I DO NOT KNOW...he did not even offered to help us at all and it was not even busy at the desk during that time. Which is not what we expected from the Luxury Hotel MELIA was.... I used to work in the hotel in London (RESERVATION Agent - ROYAL GARDEN HOTEL and THE ATHENAEUM HOTEL in LONDON) and I also do Guest Relations on some occasion so I am also stationed at the desk. If we were asked by the guest about directions, if we do not know where it is, WE STILL OFFER TO ASSIST BY SEARCHING THE INTERNET for the direction and helping the guest out as much as we can. Even my husband was appalled by the gentleman's response to us. My Husband works in the Hotel as In Room Dinning Manager (from CORINTHIA HOTEL and THE CHANCERY ROSEWOOD HOTEL). My husband said this is not a hotel standard to reply to the guest - "I DO NOT KNOW"....

Modern, clean hotel with city views. Level lounge has a great vibe for working or relaxing. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Located a short walk from Messe but personally I quite liked that.

    modern design hotel

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent check-in experience.I arrived over an hour before the official check-in time. At the front desk, I was informed that I would have to pay an extra €20 for early check-in. While I agreed to pay the fee, I mentioned that the policy felt excessive, especially since the official check-in time was approaching and I had previously received an email stating that I could check in early if the room was ready. The staff member assisting me reacted unprofessionally, stating that I was not allowed to call the policy "ridiculous" and threatened to cancel my reservation. I found this behavior extremely strange and inappropriate for a customer service representative.Due to this interaction, I have decided to check out next day and do not extend my stay and move to another hotel for the remainder of the trade show.

I asked the staff to add my company name on the invoice. But the staff is not friendly. It is very difficult to communicate with her.

    Beautiful but disappointing.

⚠️ Negative ExperienceUnfortunately, the reception service was quite disappointing. We arrived around noon and only wanted to check in early and leave our car in the hotel parking lot, but they refused and told us to come back at 2 PM. Later, I ended up completing the check-in online by myself. In the evening, we faced another issue — although we had already paid for parking, there were no available spaces. I was asked to go back into the parking area and manually move the metal barriers blocking some spots, which felt very unprofessional. On the last day, we even found our car wheel locked by hotel staff, which was very frustrating. To make things worse, one of the security guards shouted at us and threatened to take pictures and report us to the police, even though we were just trying to reach reception to sort out the parking issue.Overall, the hotel facilities are great, but the management and reception team need serious improvement in communication and customer service.

It was clean and good value for money

We got wrong room and we the restaurant was not good and it was sad because the hotel is very good

    7GavinPosted on: 10-30-2025

The room we were moved to was very comfortable and quiet and equipped with what we needed. The breakfast buffet is excellent and offers a generous variety of hot and cold options. The staff were friendly and very understanding of the issues we experienced and I thank those involved for moving us to an upper room.

Even though we booked a premium room, we were given a standard room on the dreaded 14th floor directly under the Sky Bar/restaurant. The noise from the shifting of tables and chairs was unacceptable. After raising the issue twice we were finally moved to an upper floor. Surprisingly this issue is a well known amongst the staff. Surely something can be done in the restaurant to solve this well documented issue. Also I reported to reception that our fridge wasn't working and that our room was too warm but unfortunately neither were solved nor did I receive any feedback.
