    • Location, style, friendly staff, Delicious Breakfast

    Cons -

    • There were micro-ants in the bathroom - the shower partition was too small, and on our last night claimed they switch to blowing heat through the ac so they brought up a portable fan and had us switch off the air system that was set on 19c.
    • Rooms ate small, but it’s London after all.
    • Tiny bathroom but it’s ok

The room was comfortable, if a bit small. The staff were personable, pleasant and efficient. The hotel is in an excellent location with many restaurants, pubs, shops, and Underground stations within easy walking distance.

I needed to extend my stay - but found that the on-site staff could not do that for me. I had to make all arrangements on-line. That required me to book new, separate reservations. The staff accommodated me and let me keep my room - but I understand that is not assured in all cases.

everything was absolutely great and the staff was just amazing. Excellent full breakfast. The hotel is less than 100 steps away from Hyde Park, very close to metro stations.

Small bathrooms, but it is understandable since the hotel is the former palace. We did not have any problems.

    Great location and historic building

Cold water was hot and room very small with uncomfortable bed

While the hotel benefits from an excellent location and generally professional service, the room rates during December are simply unjustifiable. Prices increase to an unreasonable level considering that the rooms are extremely small, barely around 10 sqm. This significant mismatch between room size and seasonal pricing is disappointing and does not reflect fair value for money.

Victorian style hotel situated near two tube stops, convenient. Bartender was exceptional making hot milk/butter/honey to soothe a cough I had. Really marvelousReception helpful and pleasant.Would have given top rating except the hvac never fully heated the room and room was too small

Hvac did not fully heat the room though the fan ran continually rather loudly Room too small. Hvac did not heat room properly

    Terrible experience—-no heating in winter!

Terrible experience – no heating in winter! We arrived on December 28th in the early evening, and the moment we entered the room, we could feel it was freezing cold — clearly, no heating had been on at all. The air conditioner only blew cold air, and the radiator was ice cold. When we called reception, they casually told us that none of the radiators or air conditioners in the hotel were working. Their only “solution” was to bring us a tiny portable heater, which was absolutely unacceptable. We asked for a room change, but they claimed the hotel was fully booked. When we requested a refund, they said only the manager could handle it — but, of course, the manager wouldn’t be available until the next day.The next morning, there was still no manager around, and the staff refused to even give us a written statement confirming that there was no heating. They showed zero empathy or willingness to help, even though several other guests were complaining about the exact same problem. It was freezing in the room all night, and we couldn’t sleep because of it. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had.

I only liked the location. I didn’t think it deserved extra points, as there are many accommodation options around Kensington.

The hotel looked unclean due to its old condition. Both the rooms and bathrooms clearly require renovation. The beds were old and uneven, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The room window was completely locked and could not be opened even slightly for ventilation, so it was impossible to air the room despite an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioning. The elevators were frequently out of order and even stopped while in use, which caused safety concerns. The staff’s attitude was disappointing. Despite clearly stating that our room included breakfast, the reception staff insisted that it was not included and reconfirmed this in an unprofessional, slightly mocking manner.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

Check-in was a little slow. In most hotels rooms are released upon cleaning. Here we had to wait until after 3:00 to get our room. Also while there is a lift the door to your room is at the bottom of a staircase. So as you open your room door you have to climb 8 to 10 stairs to get to the bedroom

It is located in a wonderful location, the property is beautiful and well conserved.

The heating didn’t work as good as expected and you could hear all activities from the upper floor, especially during the night.

It is right in the middle of the village across from a wonderful restaurant.

I was moved from this hotel to another one in the same ownership. I was given less than 24hours notice. The receptionist was very kind and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable.

The room was very small with old windows that were better not to try adjusting. There was no bar or lounge area available. It was more of a low grade B and B.

After our train trip from North England, we were kindly greeted by the wonderful staff. They were very helpful and ensured that our luggage was safe. It was great walking to and from the hotel knowing that you were in good hands. The ground floor was also beautiful to look at - we really liked how there were food and drinks in the main room and entrance of the building. Not only that, but we also liked that there was an iron and an ironing board that we could use on request. The bed was comfortable as well as the bathroom and amenities. Another great thing is the location. Across from Hyde Park you can easily access the hotel that is a block away from both Queensway and Bayswater Station. We look forward to coming back on our next London trip.

bed was comfy , room was clean ,good staff , comfy bar area and lounge area , 2 minute walk to Queens way tube station .did not try the breakfast so can not comment.

very small bathroom area , small room ,was in party of 6 ,, 3 twin rooms ,, 2 rooms on lower ground floor air con heating was fine, but the room on 3rd floor was freezing , air con was not producing warm air , another customer had the same issue ,, so i guess the hotel has a heating issue ,, the staff did provide a space heater to provide heat ,, for a 4star hotel that issue needs resolving ,, as we approach winter .
