The Darlington Hyde Park

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Our room was so unbearably hot Room #400. Do NOT stay here if this is your room. Any room above the first floor is hot with small windows and fans which are of no help. We asked to change room after one miserable night only to be told they were sold out.

The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Breakfasts are very good and the service is fast allowing us to meet our daily tours on time. They even provided us with a tray the night before when we have to leave before breakfast starts.

The room was extremely hot on our arrival day. We had to open the window. The fan circulates hot air all night. We couldn't sleep. We had to leave a note for the cleaning staff to leave the drapes closed during the day to keep the room cooler.

The hotel was very clean. Great location. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our holiday. The Monkey Puzzle Pub was only one block away and very good.

It wasn't clear enough that there isn't AC in the room. The breakfast is pretty slim, and you have to wait for the main course as it is started as you get there.

the room was big for 3 people...breakfast was good...staff was friendly....property was clean...location to attractions was good. close to a hospital (if needed)...several bus stops close...

we walked to Hyde Park (recommendation of hotel staff)...neighborhood we walked through (close to hotel) did not seem safe. free internet was slow...frustrating...could not work from there.

Expensive, they charge almost for everything additional to already expensive room charge. Breakfast, to hold luggage after 2pm are additional charges.

everything was wonderful there was nothing. I didn’t like about the property. The property is an older building, but well maintained.

Very Good Position, near the Paddington tube station (6 minutes to London Soho).The Hyde Park zone is very calm and clean, perfect for an Holiday in London. Staff Girls were very Kind, smiling people and available for everything. We Will definitely return!!

Nothing in particular

The room was very nice, and I got upgraded. It does get very hot during the night, which isn't a fault of the hotel, but they do provide you with a fan. The fan is very noisy, but at least it cools you down. The staff were very polite and quick to satisfy your needs, and they kept me topped up with tea and biscuits and anything else I needed for my room. Their service during breakfast was great, and they made the experience enjoyable despite their not being much choices. The location of the hotel itself is very easy to find and is near to a lot of places to go as well as a lot of transport options, being only 10 minutes away from the station, underground and many bus stops. If you are like me and prefer walking to destinations to save money, it is also easy to walk to many shops and cafes and restaurants.

In my room, my main light didn't work, but there were still 3 other lamps I could have on, so it didn't affect me too much and actually made it quite cosy. The continental breakfast was at first very disappointing, as there is only very small croissants and small pain au chocolats as well as some yogurt and fruit, so there isn't much selection. On the second day I knew what to expect, and so it was more enjoyable, however I still left feeling like there could have been more. During the day of my first full day, I feel like the staff didn't communicate on who was checking on what room, as I had 1 of them knock on my door and ask if I wanted housekeeping, to which I told them when I'd be out. Then, not even 2 minutes later, another housekeeper knocked on my door and asked if I wanted housekeeping, and I let her know when I would be out like I did previously, and she was very attentive and asked me if there was anything I needed, so I asked if I was able to have some more milk, which she kindly brought to me along with a fresh towel and some more biscuits, but I did feel that only one member of staff should have visited in order to cause the least amount of disruption, and I think one of them got confused as to whether I wanted housekeeping or not, and then that confused me as I didn't know if they were coming to clean my room and if I should head out for it or not. Other than this, the staff are very polite and quick to satisfy your needs, and mistakes happen, as I know from working in the hospitality industry. Other than the things I have listed, I cannot fault this hotel in any other way, and while I enjoyed my stay, I feel it is a one time experience, and that I'd prefer to stay somewhere else next time. However, I acknowledge that the staff are doing their best and I am someone who prefers little interaction when I stay somewhere, so these are just my opinions and someone else may appreciate it more.

All staff were very nice and helpful. Very clean rooms, excellent location and less than 10 min walk from Paddington station.

No A/C, room was in the back of the hotel and although it was very quiet it was extremely hot and the portable fan they provide did not help.

On this visit, nothing to dislike

This place felt like home for five days. The location is very nice, quiet, and safe. It's a short walking distance to Paddington Station. The room feels very spacious thanks to high ceilings. The room and the bathroom were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I also loved the breakfast, there was not many choices but still reliable and tasty. The staff was very helping and nice. I would love to stay here when I come back to London.

There was a power outlet next to bed but it was hidden since the bed itself covers it, and since I couldn't move the bed, the outlet was pretty useless.A mini fridge would be nice.

Close to the tube so close to all of London. Charming, comfortable rooms and continental breakfast staffed with lovely people.

The location is excellent and the beds are comfy.

There was hardly any warm water in the shower and there were a few hairs hiding around the bathroom.

The staff were polite & friendly. Reception is open 24 hours. Front door is kept locked & opened using a valid room key. Excellent location in a lovely row of hotels around 5 minutes from Paddington station.

The continental breakfast was included in the price, however, cooked breakfast wasn’t included if booked through a 3rd party such as Booking.com.The shower was over a bath which was very high & quite difficult to climb into. The television in the room was tiny.
