    Pros +

    • Location and the hotel
    • Great location. Easy access to underground and lots of restaurants around.Staff were nice. Room was clean and comfortable.
    • Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable

    Cons -

    • Matress was very hard
    • It was relatively costly for the size of the room etc. But that's London I suppose!
    • The bed was so uncomfortable. It was supposed to be a deluxe room and it was in the basement with furniture that looked like it had been taken out of other rooms as they had been refurbished,. I had to request tea bags. Shower screen had black mould on trim.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gem Strathmore, very classy and British in the heart of Kensington.

-Super friendly staff - I told them it was my birthday and they decorated my room accordingly and gave me a free room upgrade! Much appreciated :)-The room was ordinary but the lounge with small bar was amazing, comfortable and with a lovely old-fashioned feel. Really enjoyed it!

Location is excellent. Close the the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum, V&A etc, but off the main road so quite quiet. Friendly staff. Clean room.

The bathroom in our room needs an upgrade, quite a lot of enamel had chipped off the bath and the shower screen was corroded, but this didn't affect our stay. Also the lift is very small.

The hotel was clean, in a quiet location. A member of staff advised us to ask for an upgrade as we had been appointed a very small room on the 4th floor. The room we got next had more space and a bath which made our stay more enjoyable.

The lift was broken for 2/3 days of our stay and our room was on the 4th floor.

Great location for all the events we had planned

The lift had packed up and was out of action for the duration of our stay, but they were on it on the day we left.

Room was a little tired, worn edges to carpets, wallpaper covering cracks in wall, dirty window sills. No view. Bed was comfy and clean. Bath water didn't seem to get hot enough.

    Up grade room

Great location, a short walk from Gloucester Road tube station. Very handy direct line from Heathrow Airport ( once the Piccadilly line is in service). Walking distance to the V&A museum and the natural history museum etc. The hotel has character and the staff were helpful. This is a lovely part of London. The room was very quiet and I slept well. I would definitely stay here again.

The lift was not working for my entire stay, which was fine for me ( thankfully) but would be problematic for people with disabilities, heart issues etc. it is over 120 steps to the fifth floor rooms. There was no advance notification of this issue. Breakfast is a modest enough affair, given the cost. I would probably skip this next time. The room I was in was very small, even by London standards ( but quiet and functional).
