Pros +
- Absolutely loved this hotel. Perfect location (2 stations in 3 mins away), beautiful church in front of the hotel. Lots of supermarkets in 3 mins away and almighty Kensington Park. The staff is helpful and readily friendly. Whenever I needed something they would always help me. Clean, big room. Enough space for clothing. The room has all the essentials for showering and also coffee/tea/milk. Thank you!
- The location is fantastic, and is conveniently located very close to a bus stop, and an easy walk to Paddington. Although my single room was small, it was more than enough room for what I needed, and was clean and comfortable. The bed was nice and comfortable, and there were plenty of electrical outlets that were easily accessible. Staff were fantastic, and check-in and check out were quick and easy. For the price, it can’t be beat, and I would absolutely stay here again!
- extremely convenient location at an okay rate
Cons -
- I had a bit of difficulty finding my room when I arrived, as there were no signs indicating which rooms were located in which alcove, etc. Also, travelers should know that there are a few steps leading to most of the rooms—wasn’t an issue for me, but made hauling my suitcase in and out a bit tricky. Also, the walls are VERY thin, so on more than one occasion, I heard people in adjacent rooms conversing, watching TV, or even snoring through the night. Make sure to pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper! Also, the addition of a small chair in the room would be fantastic—the only seating options in my room were a very short and small stool, or to sit on the bed.
- the room was quite tiny and the noise traveled like nothing i’ve ever seen before. anyone speaking on the hall sounded like they were in the room with me
- The hotel is actually great and the price is affordable.

The location is walking distance to Kensington park and to Paddington train station and we were able to walk going to see Buckingham Palace via Kensington Park. The staff members are so helpful and kind. And the breakfast selection is great and yummy. Sanjay, Binayak & Sachin are so great in what they do. They are attentive to the needs of the customers and see to it that the foods are in abundance. Yoko from the front office answered our questions patiently and all the staff on duty at the reception desk are also very helpful. Will surely recommend Commodore Hotel to friends and family. Our experience in London is memorable because of the kindness of the British people. Much gratitude from the USA. One helpful tip: From the Heathrow airport you can take the Elizabeth train line going to Paddington train station and pay only 7 pounds per person instead of 150 pounds for the 3 trips my husband and I took. We took the Elizabeth line ( 35 minutes journey with stops, the express train is 15 minutes nonstop but 25 pounds per person fare). We are so grateful for the excellent service provided by the staff. And the people of London are so nice and helpful. With much respect, Brent and Alma from Ohio, USA
The hotel is actually great and the price is affordable.
The location was awesome! Close to the bus station, close to nice breakfast places and close to the subway as well.
The bathroom was so tiny, that you had to "hide" behind the toilet in order to close the door. This was kinda annoying.
The staff members were nice and the location was great! The hotel was near Kensington Park and I ran there each morning. Down the street, there are pubs and shops.
The bathroom sink was broken so when turned on, water splattered everywhere. I was told to sign a waiver to use the gym and I had to ask for it to be unlocked each day. It wasn’t 24 hours so I never used it.
Even though we broke something like a vase and we informed them when asked, they didn’t charge us. The staff were generally good and polite. They could improve the listing about the apartment. It is in the basement.
Even though they wrote in the description about being in the basement or in the 5th floor, I didn’t see it but they could have a different price and listing for the basement one. Also the pictures were from the one on the fifth floor. Also, even though they are being marketed as a hotel, we didn’t have cleaning services but once in the 6 days, the heating in one of the rooms was not proper and we were freezing if we had the door closed. Also, we had to throw the trash out ourselves and clean the dishes. Update the listing to show the pictures from the basement not only from the fifth floor because that was a reason to choose it instead of others. It’s worth mentioning that they mention in the description this but based in the pictures I didn’t see it, but the pictures were different. So it was my mistake too.
# Location:Absolutely fantastic location. Right at the edge of Hyde Park, inside Central London. You can literally walk all the way to Westminster. There were a lot of Halal restaurants nearby. Paddington Station is ~10-15mins away which has all the lines you will need. Also, there are bus stops in case you need it. All in all, you won't need to worry about transportation and food. # Hotel Services:Not bad, but not great either. They have complimentary coffee and snacks at the lobby. Room service was OK. The bed was comfortable.
- Some staffs need to be more polite.- Too Narrow corridors and lift! The lift can barely fit 2 people with luggage.- The room needs more storage space.- They will charge your card in case you cause damages. So, you need to be extra careful.- The bath amenities were too small sized like 20ml-ish. They need to be bigger! The room service did not refill them on their own, we needed to request for refilling.- The Gym is not accessible by default. You need to ask the front-desk and they will unlock it. However, there is no washroom inside and if you go out, you will be locked out. Also, the gym is very basic mostly cardio equipment. - The hotel does not have a dedicated car parking.
The receptionist was really helpful and polite
No restaurant, no bar poor room teas selection
Location
Every morning there is a awful smell in toilets and all the noises that came from both corridor and upstairs are irritating. Noise isolatipn was bad.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location was excellent and convenient, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. The atmosphere of the hotel was calm and welcoming. The staff were exceptional — very polite, professional, and always willing to help. Their hospitality and friendly attitude made my stay even better.
There was nothing major that I disliked. However, improving the check-in time and updating some facilities would make the overall experience even better.
Location, Staff
The noise coming from tube (thanks to hotel management they changed our room)
This was in a great location and visually a lovely hotel. Some lovely furnishings and lobby. The room and bed were comfortable
While the room was of a decent size, the bathroom was lacking. The shower itself in particular. We were in a basement room so not sure if other rooms and floors have different options.sThe bathroom was lovely and clean and had great facilities but unfortunately the shower was smaller than in a caravan. In future I would maybe be specific when booking that I require a shower with room to move.
Location, cleanliness, service availability
Nothing in particular
It’s clean and cosy. The staff are friendly.
NO LIFT. The flat was on the fourth floor, and our nightmare was the 93 steps we had to climb every time we went in or out.
Location, room size
Bad smell in the room
Location was decent , nice walk into Hyde park to reach the palace ..Staff were helpful and friendly
Room was very small , no area to lay out a couple suitcases …also the room was very cold (we stayed end of November )
Location is ok
The room is a complete disappointment. The bed was old so it was too big inside. They even didn’t think to put two commodes.
My room was just the right size, excellent water pressure in the shower, equipped with a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities and a window that could be opened. Loved it. It was perfect for our stay.
The property was in a very convenient location to both the tube and walking attractions. Compared to other properties in London, that we have stayed at, the room was spacious and well equipped. Outstanding water pressure.
Our one complaint would be that as our room was in the basement we had a view of the air conditioning units, but that’s the first world problem
