The Melville Hotel by Rokxy- Kings Cross

Great location

Bathroom was dirty, you can hear the underground passing every 2 minutes,heating didn’t work the first night, room was not even cleaned once, we stayed there for 4 nights.

Everything was great! The gentlemen were very nice and helpful. They let us leave our luggage before and after check-out. The room was exactly what we expected.

Lobby had potential to be like photos.

Not like photos at all. Dirty room, needed a proper clean and under bed was filthy. Heating was on high ALL night with no way to lower it. Very very uncomfortable because of heat.

We picked it for it’s closeness to St Pancras station and because it offered low price at time of booking. Staff member on duty was very polite and helpful. Good level of communication before and after our stay.

The room was fine, though needed a bit of upkeep. Was cables in a bunch coming through ceiling that could be concealed or tidied.

It was perfectly located for us as we had to catch an early morning Eurostar. It was literally a 5 minute walk away and easy to find

Could’ve used a shower mat and the shower door was a bit dodgy

Staff were very friendly & welcoming. I'm sure the fan was added after dropping off my case - staff very attentive to my perimenopause state I arrived in LOL.. Location was very good - dont follow google maps, just walk straight up, off euston road and hotel is adjacent to square. Would stay here again.

Slight wear & tear was evident in bedroom & bathroom. Bed was very springy, so took a bit of getting used to.

Closeness to Eurostar

Very uncomfortable bed (Mattress desperately needs changing) dusty, bathroom needs updating all Crome rusty, mouldy and doors and walls need cleaning!

The very friendly and helpful owner and managers. When I made a mistake with my booking and didn’t realise I needed to request a ground-floor room due to mobility issues, they quickly moved me from a third-floor room with stairs to a lower-ground-floor room. This meant I only had to climb one flight of stairs at the start of the day, when I was less tired. Oh, and the decor, wow, it was beautiful, it looks overpowering in the website photos, but really well done when you see it live.

I would have liked a fridge in the room, but it might just be the room I bought, since I got it super cheap for the area.

Furniture old. Lots of rust in bathroom. Rather loud (I could hear every step from the guys in the room above me). Shutter was damaged so it was rather bright inside room

Retro, I didn’t expect but funny. Need improvements , the room needed renovation but I can say was bigger with a lot of facilities, I can’t complain because was close to St Pancras very good for late flights or early flights. I like this version of easy check in and out. I have to say was very clean , well done to the cleaners! If the rooms will have updates will be a good value for visitors. I will book again because I like this idea with retro rooms and different styles. Well done!

Only the things what have be fixed

The doors are not sound proof at all and I could hear every small movement/noise outside my room. Unfortunately I had some very noisy neighbours in the room opposite me throughout the night so I did not sleep well/at all. Upgrading the doors to seal properly/be more soundproof would make a massive difference.

How close it was to st pancreas for Eurostar next morning Funky Hallway decor

Absolutely filthy. Incredibly uncomfortable mattress. No coffee or spoons.The noise from room above sounds like they could fall through the ceiling. Every footstep can be heard. Property being refurbished so nothing like in the photos was available. Should be closed whilst being done!!! The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The bedroom was covered in dust. Two of the 9 ceiling light bulbs worked and the lamp was broken. I mean I’m glad we were close to the station but that is literally it. Very sad start to our first 4 day break together. Just do not book… spend more and stay somewhere clean.

Yes rooms are not maintained and you are completely ignored as a guest, however perfect location, ok rooms and good value for money.We stayed for 4 nights in January and they were carrying out extensive room renovations so we couldn’t sleep/relax in the morning. Very loud, felt like construction site

Location was excellent to get to kings Cross Station. Staff were friendly, and room was clean.

Bathroom a little cramped, as was the bedroom. No lift, however as we were using backpacks, this wasn’t a problem for us.
