Pros +
- Friendly staff and clean rooms
- Good location
- This hotel's location was fantastic, in a safe neighborhood, close to a Tube station and next to a street with lots of restaurants. The room was clean, charming and comfortable.
Cons -
- Was a bit warm with no aircondition
- Showerhead is really bad. Tiny needle-like jets make it impossible to take a decent shower. Room is very small; pulling out the chair from the desk to sit down is a challenge.
- The shower was a bit dangerous as the mat provided didn't stick well to the tub even though I pressed the suction cups firmly into place. My husband and I both slipped whilst exiting the shower and that could have turned out very badly.

Towels and bed was changed everyday, i give it a 10 out 10 for that, but the kettle and the cup, when i got to the hotel was dirty. Beside that the hotel does not have an elevator and to reach the room there was 3 floor of stiars, it would have be nice to know in advance.
Reaching the room was a bit hard due to stairs.
Location, cleanliness, friendly staff.
Should restock milk, coffee things every morning.
It was a really nice stay, very cute and close to everything. The staff was super accommodating and very sweet!
This hotel was perfectly located by Hyde Park. The staff were so helpful. We arrived at 9am and they got us a room early. Everything was perfect.
The staff was the BEST! Very Very helpful
Shower was REALLY small and the room was small but certainly workable.
great location, very clean
room was a bit cold during the night, please provide an extra blanket or a way to control temperature in the room
Excellent location, friendly service staff, very clean.
We stayed one night after flying in before heading out to Cornwall. The staff was very friendly, and check-in was very easy. Parking was a bit challenging, and is available about a 6-7 minute walk away. We did drop luggage off, and then parked. It is in a nice area with the Underground nearby and a nice selection of restaurants. There is not a lift, so be prepared to carry luggage flights of stairs!
London is expensive for rooms. This room, however was very small, with truly little room to maneuver with luggage. I'm not sure the value is there for the price, but good location.
Great location and very clean
This was the third of three single rooms my family booked at the hotel (the other two were on a separate reservation and a separate review). The two on the other reservation were small as to be expected but had a fair amount of elbow room and storage space. This room on the very top floor (room #1) was TEENY, with a half-size wardrobe, a bathroom and shower you could hardly turn around it and barely any space in the room. I realize that London hotel rooms are small but this room should have been sold with the acknowledgement that it was a VERY small room and at a lower price. The shower was lukewarm and had low pressure. We reported it to the front desk and asked to have it checked and they only said to let it run for a while as it would take longer for the hot water to reach the top floor. It ran for 20 minutes and still never got hot. Guest in this room had to use the shower in one of our other rooms, two flights down.
Location: Close to two tube stations (Bayswater and Queensway), close to Paddington (approx. 15 minute walk or two stops via the Tube). Walking distance to Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens. Nice area with many excellent cafes, pubs and coffee shops nearby. Room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. Housekeeping service available daily. Generally quiet - room faced the street but there was no street noise. Only some loudish guests in the room next door one night, otherwise didn't hear noise from other guests. Shower head was broken and also the drain was clogged but both were fixed (a whole new shower head was installed) upon reporting the issue to the front desk. Fan provided in each room. Bed was comfortable (athough pillows were not).
We had two rooms on this reservation. The hair dryers in both rooms had issues and didn't work very well so I recommend bringing your own if having a good working dryer is important. Only one bath towel (although a good size) provided per person. A second bath towel would have been nice. No washcloth (flannel) was provided. As we knew in advance, there is no elevator. We were okay with it but obviously an elevator would be a huge improvement to the overall experience. Rooms varied in amenities and size. One room was slightly larger than the other and had a luggage rack. The other was a bit smaller and did not have a luggage rack. Pillows were flat and somewhat hard. Coffee & Tea supplies and restocking were inconsistent. One room had 6 decafs and 2 regular coffees. The other room had the opposite. One room had tea bags, the other had none. Sugar packets weren't replaced; sometimes the milk was replaced and sometimes not. We found ourselves having to get the supplies we needed from the front desk at the Phoenix Hotel.
Relatively quiet location in West London. Staff were helpful when I asked for more instant coffee packets since I didn't need house keeping during my stay. They also proactively upgraded me to a double room when I checked in. Located near several different tube and bus lines, which was helpful to get out to livelier neighborhoods around London.
I felt a bit weird about the shower since carpet isn't normally what I step onto (even if indirectly through a bath mat). Sound proofing was non-existent between my room and that on the floor above me. Unsurprisingly, the room was small but enough to sleep in.
Nice neighborhood
They didn’t provide main entrance key access and you have to bother 24/7 staff to open the door for you by confirming your room number and name
Location.
So first you have to check in at Phoenix hotel . I even messaged prior to confirm and they told me Kensington which is a lie.The bed is horrible! Like I couldn’t sleep the first night ! I requested extra pillows to pile on top to sleep the second night.Everytime you come back to the hotel you must ring the buzzer and give your name and hotel room. It’s really annoying and feels so awkward. Like this is not a five star joint.
Location, cleanliness.
Room was tiny and on the top floor with no lift, which I was not informed of. Not fun dragging my luggage up 4 flights of stairs.
Location, very helpful staff, nice bathroom.
Bed was not the most comfortable. No air conditioning, which I know is common in England, the the weather is changing and it was quite warm in London. Thankfully, a fan was provided.
Location
As the entrance is on another street number without reception, you must ring if you want to get in and identify yourself so they let you in and use your card to open room door. Peak of summer, super warm and only a fan. Acoustic isolation not good and you can hear people in other rooms.
Location was great . Nice quiet street with restaurants close by and train stations. Very clean room.
As two 70 year old women going up and down stairs was a challenge. Windows could of opened up a little more. Going three doors down for check in and what not was somewhat annoying. Staff at desk always seemed put out when we asked for help as in bringing luggage down.
