Montcalm Mayfair Townhouse

Location itself was convenient to transportation and shopping.

This is a bait-and-switch. Lobby/room photos online look like main hotel (31 Great Cumberland Place) not Shaftsbury Suites, which is a dumpy building one block down. My room was next to entry/lobby; noisy all night; management unwilling to change; awful.

I really like this hotel and stay regularly. It’s in a lovely old townhouse. Newly refurbished to a very high standard.

Not many rooms have baths.

This was my fourth stay at Montcalm Townhouse; Ideally located for my business in London. Always very kind and serviceminded staff - 24/7 hour service, and even asking for those small extra things. Water station available in the lobby so you can get different kind of drinking water at all times and bring to your room in big bottles.

I have to specifically ask for rooms with a view every time in order not to get a room in the basement. I know it often happens in London but it would be great if Montcalm Townhouse had a way of tracking that request from previous stays with them.

Newly renovated with cool style. I got one of the biggest rooms they have and was at great value and excellent location on a quiet street

the room was refurbished and lovely. The staff very firendly and helpful. Every day bottles of fresh water were brought into the room ... the townhouse is just steps from the oxford street... so fantastic locationBreakfast very good ... not in the same building but just steps away. all was perfect!!

The staff moved me to a better room once I brought the issues of the old room to their attention

The bed had hairs all over it, as did the shower. I have also requested an invoice about 5 times from the hotel and have not received any response whatsoever.

Newly refurbed a small boutique property of 13 rooms in an old townhouse.

Heated towel rail didn’t work.

Location. Renovation, extremely attentive staff

Basement rooms were not specified, size of the rooms info was t accurate on booking, no lifts, many floors up, breakfast in a different building- all these points supposed to be clarified

Hello,I booked one triple room and one double room for 5 adults. But at check-in, I was given two double rooms instead. This means the 5th person had to sleep on a small chair without comfort, even though I paid extra for the triple room.No one answered my call at night when I asked for an extra bed. Since the triple room was not provided, I kindly request a refund of the price difference between the triple and double room.

I've stayed at other hotels in the MONTCALM chain and have no complaints. In fact, my first time in London was at the Montecalm chain, but this was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.The price was sky-high, and the room had no soundproofing. I could hear footsteps and people talking constantly. And finally, it wasn't my lucky day. They gave me a room right below the breakfast area. Around 6 a.m. or earlier, the commotion began, perhaps because of the staff preparing breakfast, when breakfast was served! It was an unbearable noise of falling things and footsteps. I got up immediately and booked another hotel. I was going to extend my stay for two more days, but I decided to leave.
