- Staff were excellent, thank you so much.
- Location and staff. Staff were so friendly and the ambience was really great, from the neighborhood to the main floor sitting room complete with honesty bar and overall quaint design of the building.
- Location and chic decor.
Cons -
- We were in room # 1, it was lovely but as it was basement level below lobby, we were kept awake until 0330ish by people constantly walking above us. Not sure if guests, staff or both. Otherwise, great hotel.
- Our room was small. In the bathroom, it was not possible to completely unroll the bathmat. There was nowhere in our room for two people to sit and relax, which made the main floor sitting room a necessity.
- The breakfast room was small. My advice would be to ask guests about their intended breakfast time the day before.

The decoration, the location, the staff. Everything !
I absolutely loved the style, décor, and facilities of the room — the hotel has real personality and charm throughout. The location is perfect for exploring the Notting Hill neighbourhood, with so much right on your doorstep. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the toiletries were beautiful, and both the shower and bath were excellent — everything felt thoughtful and high quality.
The lift was out of order so there were a few stairs to contend with
Would never recommend someone to stay there.
I was forced to leave the hotel at approximately 10:30pm due to an overwhelming smell of fumes in my room, which made it impossible to stay. When I raised this issue with the front desk and requested an alternative room, I was told that the hotel was fully booked and no other accommodation could be offered (even after I offered to pay the difference for a more expensive room).Given the circumstances, and trying to be understanding, I explained that I had no option but to leave and find another hotel late that night. The front desk assured me at the time that I would not be charged for the stay.I then had to secure alternative accommodation at short notice, which caused considerable stress. I believed the matter had been resolved until I noticed that I have since been charged by the Portobello Hotel regardless.Charging me after explicitly confirming that I would not be charged, particularly when the issue was caused by an uninhabitable room, is extremely disappointing and, in my view, shows very poor faith
We stayed in the Best Room and it truly was the best experience. The staff on site were all extremely kind and attentive, and they really make you feel at home. The property was perfectly located just steps from the famous Portobello Road. Everything was perfect. Thank you for making our stay so special, we will be returning next time we are in London!
We love the portbello — it’s right around the corner from where we used to live and every time we visit London it’s the only place we look to stay. Incredibly comfortable, clean, and the staff there make the stay exceptional. Great attention to detail and a uniquely high-tough experience.

Service top notch,it was so quiet, beautiful area, two minute walk to Portabella road market, ten minutes walk to tube station , lovely food.reception very helpful.
we liked everything,
Decoration, comfy bed, very charming receptionist
Cleaners cloth left in the bathroom. Curtain pole broken
Friendly welcome and lovely decor . Gorgeous attic room with great bath
The milk was cold so the coffee machine coffee was Luke warm. We should have specified hot milk. Also there was no Lou brush - don’t know why one not provided. Small points and only saying for improvements.
Great location, staff were very friendly and accommodating
The lift was not working and climbing 81 stairs to our room was not great. I realise it was out of their control but it took away from our stay.
It was a charming boutique like property with unique rooms and a cozy sitting area when you walk in
The elevator wasn’t working.
The quirky boutique vibe was exactly what we were expecting. Bed was lush. There was a bus stop close by for very easy transport. Wandering the streets and Portobello Markets made this a fave spot to crash.
We had the "good" room booked, and it was. But the only downfall was that the bathroom was small. Very small.
The room was lovely - it had a fantastic view of the garden. Location was suberb. Felt really cosy and personal. The decor of this boutique hotel is beautiful. If you are looking to stay somewhere very English and a little bit different this is the place.
We didn't get a turn down service but that was fine. Could have requested but we were very happy.
Reception staff member Gabriella (I think) was exceptional lovely & welcoming. Chatty and helpful. Staff were quick to bring ironing board and iron needed. Easy to arrange breakfast within our rooms the next morning, decoration lovely and kept to time period. Very pretty building, clean. Good choice of minibar snacks & foods etc. quiet. Slept very well.
Nowhere to work or sit at. Room was tiny. Could step to toilet from the bed.Not enough space to put your suitcases and also have slave to get ready/dressed. Mirror was n dark hallway so couldn’t see yourself. nowhere to sit to eat at or work from. Expensive for what it is. I paid for continental breakfast which didn’t arrive - and we ended up having to pay extra for a cooked breakfast, feel cost of continental should be deducted if you you chooseTo upgrade.
Great hotel in the middle of Notting Hill. It was close to the Portobello Markets and other shopping areas. It's a 10 minute walk to the tube station so it's easy to get around from the hotel. The room was small, but it had a super comfortable bed and some interesting wall art.
Check in- breakfast was great - the staff brought tea and drinks in the afternoon when we came back from a tour.Everyone was attentive -
Can't think of a thing that was bad-
It was quirky and homey. I felt like I lived in the area with a residential home turned into a hotel. My room was beautiful and cosy with a stunning view over the nearby park. I thought I’d miss not having a tv in the room but not once did I miss it. The inclusion of a coffee machine, tea and biscuits was great. My stay felt very “London”.
The bed, whilst big and cosy was a little lumpy and soft
The look and style of the Hotel and the friendly and helpful staff. The Hotel was close to Portobello Market and Pubs.
