About
Set in the former Midland Bank building in the City of London, just steps from Bank Station, The Ned hosts 250 bedrooms, ten restaurants and a range of men’s and women’s grooming services. The Grade I-listed building was designed by Sir Edwin 'Ned' Lutyens in 1924. Each bedroom at The Ned features elements of design back to the 1920's and 1930’s and includes vintage pieces, patterned furnishings and rainforest showers. The former Grand Banking Hall is host to restaurants which serve a wide range of cuisines, from Britain to Northern Italy, North America to Asia. Six private hire rooms and two terraces are at guests’ disposal. They all have a reception area. Ned’s Club Spa offers a variety of treatments – from manicures and pedicures, to massages and hair services. The private member's spaces, Ned's Club Gym and Ned's Club Spa pool may be accessed through purchasing day passes, subject to availability. The property is within a short walk from St. Paul’s Cathedral and within 15 minutes from Oxford Street and the West End, by tube. Bank Station also offers a direct DLR connection to London City Airport, which can be reached in 30 minutes.

Pros +
- Facilities, choice of restaurants and bars, but most of all was the live music
- Accessibility, all you needed was there in room and in hotel.
- Facilities and the concierge gentlemen were so lovely and helpful and welcoming.
Cons -
- That you couldn’t use gym facilities until checking in. I wanted to use earlier in day prior checking in. No option to pay extra for this. I would also prefer the gym pass being included in the price. Rather then a higher price for room. This due to how a customer is left feeling. Could not connect the tv to phone via chrome cast. Apple TV would be a great option for rooms.
- We love this hotel however this time round the First Gentlemen we met with on reception wasn’t the friendliest and last time we were asked if we wanted upgrade etc but this time no mention. We went to the room and wanted something better so went back down and upgraded and paid extra £250 just an option like last time would have been ideal. Also my room didn’t have a dressing table or chair near a mirror which was hard esp when applying makeup on
- Coffee at breakfast was awful, bed positioning was rubbish and difficult to access and lighting in particular poor with little options other than full

Its a beautiful property, so much character, opulent furnishings.Would highly recommend the parlour on a Saturday evening
Nothing - its awesome
The room was beautiful and I really appreciated all the little touches like having a steamer, hair straightener, charger and adaptor all included. The staff were all so friendly and attentive and I’m already looking forward to booking another stay.
Great city location, lovely room, very good rain forest shower and Cowshed products, excellent breakfast, especially the croissants
The hotel is British charm personified; you can imagine the past banking business going on around you. The scale of the ground floor is immense. Marble pillars raise your gaze to the ornate ceilings. On the day we stayed there wasn't a free space in the public areas. A jazz band was playing and the vibe was outstanding; it was back to the pre-covid days of packed pubs and clubs. We had a meal in the Electric Bar and the food was delicious. The other restaurants were booked up. The decor of the hotel was tasteful, British and classy. Bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The corridors were spotless and very country classic in decor. The oak floorboards in the bedroom was a lovely touch, they had a huge Persian rug that spread under the bed and covered most of the floor, which was a refreshing change to strange coloured carpets found in most hotels. We stayed for 1 night but you could pop in here every time you came to London and still see something new. The staff were lovely, especially the doorman who took us in and gave us a little history lesson on the place. Although only open in 2017, this hotel, building and location is already iconic. As someone who spent their early life working in financial services in the area, it was like stepping back in time, and I felt the energy and buzz of good old London City again. So lovely to see that there is so much life still going on around here. Christmassy, classy and a cherished memory made. Thank you Ned. I hope we'll be back. LOVED THIS PLACE.
I liked everything, but maybe a bit more information on where everything was when you check in would be nice. We had to use the toilets downstairs and then came across the old vault which is incredible.
Lovely building Lovely food
Staff are miserable and stuck up and moany Music on Boxing Day was a bit drearyRug was very worn in our room.
Our 6th time back at the Ned and most special yet as we got engaged on the rooftop thanks to the amazing staff
Nothing - it’s terrific
Extremely clean. Fantastic welcoming staff. Great full size cowshed products in the bathroom. Fresh breakfast. The Christmas tree was absolutely beautiful
Because we booked through booking.com access into the club wasn’t allowed unless we paid another £40pp extra
Vibrant athmosphere in the house and restaurants
Very busy and noisy restaurants As of 06.00 am you can hear the tube runningRooms are really very vintage..
The staff were eager to get rid of us at 10.30on a xmas evening that we had paid a lot of money for. Quite abrupt. Wasn’t helpful in electric restaurant in trying to find us a table and we wasn’t advised that we couldn’t use the spa after check out on day of leaving.
The facilities in room were very good, toiletries , chargers etc They pressed my dress at short notice. Comfortable beds.
Very comfortable room and the shower was amazing.Thought of everything you could possibly need.
No real lounge area for use of residents, the public areas are always packed and you can’t find anywhere to sit and relax other than your room.
Great atmosphere and great food
Room was cold on arrival and a bit dark
Location and entertainment
Two breakfasts were cold and had to be returned , and served on cold plates, not what I expected from the standard of hotel
Perfect for a short getaway — clean, quiet, and excellent service.
Clean and well finished
Staff uppity until they release you are a resident.Rooms designed by a man, dimly lit and no full length mirror
Beautiful room, smooth check-in. Shower pressure is incredible and the Cowshed products are all gorgeous. Love all of the little extras that make things more comfortable - hair iron, tampons, loofah etc.
A bit of a rabbit warren and we could find our way downstairs via stairs close to our room but access was blocked back up so had to keep taking different routes! More signage about lifts and access points would be really helpful. Also, the ficed pricing on breakfast (which is 'included') was all a bit confusing and felt a bit tacky for an establishment of this nature, just include breakfast and allow people to choose what they want without worrying about an overage, it's not going to hurt the Ned's pocket if a room orders an extra pastry basket.
1. Room very good.2. Location for my planned movements was excellent3. Breakfast was 10/10 in one location & 0/10 in another
1. Club membership was not explained
