    Pros +

    • The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They also let us store our luggage prior to check-in and also after check-out. The location was also fantastic and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to do/see.
    • Location is good. Staff is very supportive. Luggage storage is available for free or a locker even if you check out early.
    • Location is fantastic, the beds are very comfy, the rooms are nice and private, staff are friendly and accommodating. They had everything you needed and much more.

    Cons -

    • The sockets near the beds are a little loose
    • I thought the dining area smelled unclean - like it hasn’t had a deep clean for a while - stale fried food smell. The carpets throughout were also grubby.
    • Some guests had poor regard for the quiet time in the evening. Additionally, all the doors in the building are very heavy, and many people let them slam closed in the evening, not realizing that the noise and impact disturb people. Perhaps the hostel could put up signs or advise people upon check in to close doors gently during quiet hours.

Very secure, clean bedding, fantastic location, quiet and peaceful. Lovely hot showers and clean toilets. It was nice to hear the cathedral bells from our room. Friendly and helpful staff. We loved the option to have a whole room at such a great price. Kids get breakfast for 95p!

It was very clean and comfortable for a hostel. I felt very safe in a women's shared dormitory. The 24 hour front desk meant that help was always available and late check-in was an option. The location, near St Paul's and Blackfriar stations, allowed quick access to other London landmarks.

The location is very good, very central place to all the touristic attractions. Clean sheets.

The rooms are extremely poorly soundproofed. During our stay, a school group was also staying at the hostel, which was unexpected. From as early as 7 a.m., children were running and shouting in the hallways. They also played hide-and-seek in the shared bathroom, leaving it in a very unhygienic condition: urine on the toilet seats, toilet paper scattered on the floor, and unflushed feces both inside and outside the toilets.Even after the children had left the next day, one of the toilet seats was again soiled with feces for at least four hours, despite our complaint to the reception. Additionally, due to the poor soundproofing, the nearby church bell can be heard ringing for about five minutes every hour, which was very disruptive.

    Location, Fresh soft, warm bedding.

Beds where a little squeaky for a room of 8 people. Depending on who's in the room would probably determine your nights sleep.

The rooms where very big and so was the hostel itself. Located not even 1min away from St paul cathedral!

Only 1 shower for a whole corridor... with i believe 4 rooms of 6 beds...

Location was good, clean bathrooms, comfy beds.

There was mold on some of our sheets, and it was humid in our room, so that might be why, but the staff accommodated us by giving us new sheets and offering breakfast.

    Very good location

Dirty, the room smell really bad and when I asked to buy shampoo and conditioner, they sold me a bag telling me it had conditioner but it was actually body lotion

It a great cost-benefit stay with a great location

You could hear footsteps from the other rooms altought they had earpulgs at the entrance. Also there is no facilty to cook or microwave, just a common area with tables and dishes

The property is in a wonderful location and the staff is professional and kind. The building, rooms, and facilities are in need of some love from lots of wear and tear but they are kept clean regardless!

I’m not one to share a negative review but I wanted to share our experience in case it helps anyone decide to book or not book— We booked a private room and were put on a small floor with a very large elementary school group trip, so dozens of young children were running through the halls, screaming, and slamming doors most hours we were there. We had a hard time getting through the hallways where kids were sitting or had left belongings out. It was unbelievably loud throughout the mornings and evenings, but thankfully they quieted down each night around 9:30pm, but doors slammed and shook the building late into the night. The staff did let us know at check-in that this would be the case and to let them know if it was too loud during quiet hours (11pm-7am only). Church bells also ring through the night, and while beautiful, it can definitely affect your experience as well. Just possibilities to be mindful of.

Our stay at YHA London St. Paul's was nothing short of terrific. It delivered on all advertisements and allowed my friend and I to stay at fantastic location within the city, close restaurants, stores, and public transport. Though we didn't indulge in the breakfast on offer, we did go through the eatery to get to and back from our room, it looked very nice; completely and utterly serviceable at minimum. Staff was more than pleasant to deal with. As is custom at these kinds of hostels but still incredibly welcomed, we were able to leave our bags in a designated space for them as we arrived a couple of hours before check-in was available. The room was nicely and cleanly kept. Places with such traffic of guests that also try to offer affordable accommodation, are doubly challenged to keep things as clean as one would hope for. This place achieves it. All in all, would repeat and would recommend. A great place to stay in the heart of the city if you happen to be visiting London.

Nothing that I can easily come up with. Paid for what I got. Cleanliness was at more than an acceptable standard. The room functioned in every facet without a hiccup. No complaints to be had, whatsoever. Expectations were met.

I loved that it was centrally located and had friendly staff.

The hostel was very old school. Usually hostel nowadays have much better beds, bathrooms, and facilities overall.

The receptionists are friendly and helpful, especially the female front desk manager, she is super professional and helpful. The breakfast is good, during our 6-days stay,we had breakfast every morning. It is just so easy to get up and eat everything ready including tea or coffe. Our roommates are really nice, we all tried to make less noise and less lights on, respected each other in the sharing space. Location is awesome, 5-minutes walk to subway, buses nearby. Highly recommended!

Some Facility is bit old like washing basin tabs, but works well enough.
