    Cons -

    • We checked in and within 25minutes we went to reception to advise that the hotel was absolutely disgusting in terms of cleanliness with broken items on the room and we said that we would leave immediately and would like a refund and we were advised to contact booking.com for a refund
    • The room had patches of filler and lamps which looked like they were hanging off the walls. The room was very hot and the fan didn’t work. Probably a good thing as it was full of dirty and dust. The furniture was worn/damaged. The bathroom sink was incredibly small making it impossible to wash/brush teeth.
    • broken lift Had to walk up up to the 3rd floor with 2 heavy bags no help offered I have health issues and I started to have an asthma attack half way up I’m now suffering from bad back and I’m in pain it was very dirty thick dust on the wardrobe The room wasn’t very good with people with allergies either I’m very very disappointed it was dirty. There is black hairs everywhere there was black mould half of the stuff was broken in the bathroom. Stains in the toilet, I was very disappointed and the room was very cold. Waste of money for what we had

Location of the hotel was great!

The communal areas and rooms were very dated and unkept. The rooms had a lot of damage, in the bathroom the floor tiles were all broken, the sockets had loose wiring, the floorboards were uneven, the beds were really uncomfortable and you only get one small towel each. The floors were sticky and dirty. The communal areas had all dirty laundry outside for a long time. The lift was out of order and you had to carry your cases up small narrow staircases which was breaking! The reception bloke didn’t really speak English and standing outside were a load of foreign blokes smoking which wasnt nice for me or my teenage daughter to witness. It was more like a hostel than a hotel - I will not be returning again.

    Bad

Probably one of the dirtiest hotels i've been to ,not to mention that their lift doesn't work and you have to take like 15 sets of stairs to get to your room, the windows are very old and degraded lots of wind blowing through, the noise from the people and cars outside keeps you awake all night, not to mention that the tube is right next to the hotel and it's very loud...the room i stayed in was very very small, you don't even have enough space to change....

    Well located

Very noisy / inside and also from the street / some things within the room were broken - for example the window

We just stayed for one night. It was a convenient location with clean bedding and towels and a private bathroom. I was alone with my 6yo and felt safe at night in the hotel and surrounding area, which was an important aspect of our stay.

Could use a bit of an update, but in our case was not that important, as we just needed an affordable place to stay for one night.

    Very poor

The lift can't be used , i feel like climb the mountain everyday up and down , the space in the room also very very small , really uncomfortable to stay !

Excellent location opposite Paddington station. The rooms are good compared to a lot of other hotels in the neighbourhood.

We had to move rooms because the window wouldn't shut - we had this same problem in the past and they really should have repaired it after all these month. The lift behaved erratically, or not at all. Walking up 4/5 flights of stairs is no fun when you are disabled or have heavy bags.

    5JaninePosted on: 2-15-2026

    The location comfy bed

The stairs there was 9 sets of stairs to climb with 93 steps before getting to our room made us not want to go back and for the hotel the lift was out of order

Convenient close to main station, room was clean.

People smoking at the door way. Unpleasant for non smokers.

    Location

    Dirty carpet,less space

    7JessPosted on: 2-9-2026

Quick and easy to get too.

Staff weren’t that welcoming, very old building but to be expected. The rooms do need work, as I had a giant hole in my bathroom door and the curtains weren’t great.

Really good value hotel opposite Paddington station. Good shower, comfy bed, free toiletries, tea and coffee, and nice staff. Can’t fault it for the price.

    Clean room and comfy beds.

Noise from adjacent rooms . Lift out of use.

    The location is good.

    Very old facility Boring views

    5IgorPosted on: 2-2-2026

The location. It was the cheapest facility in a good location where a single room could be procured.

It wasn't very clean. For example the radiator looked extra dirty and dusty, the closet was falling apart, in a single room I got TWO BEDS (and separated). Also it was 3rd floor with no elevators. And not even a straight-up 3rd floor but more of a labyrinth.

    5TownsendPosted on: 2-1-2026

The location was great and the room was quite clean

We were right at the top of the hotel. The lift was broken, not ideal

    The location was very good.

Light coming into the room.Draft through the window.Dodgy sink tap.Wear and tear around the hotel.
