Pros +
- Staff were excellent. I made a mistake when booking and it was solved immediately with such a lovely attitude. Breakfast was well worth the few pounds extra. The whole place was immaculate. Good location.
- The location was beautiful, on a garden and right near the tube.
- Great breakfast to be in the UK. Close to underground station and restaurants nearby.
Cons -
- The lift was so slow, it made me a little wary. Air conditioning in the room was quite noisy.
- I was there with my daughter for a special occasion. The staff is what makes all the difference during a special city visit, and this staff was always quite distant and not particularly helpful or welcoming. The breakfast was unfortunately quite poor for a hotel in this price range, served buffet style, no table service even for coffee and tea, overripe fruit..
- Even though the hotel was very clean and nice we got a room on the -1 floor with no real “windows” which it didn’t say anything about in the booking. The people in the room next to us had a party in the room until 3am and it was very loud.

We liked everything for our short stay the location couldn’t have been better a short walk from Earls Court tube station making it very central to get anywhere in London
The bathroom was small, but we were aware of this before we went so it wasn’t a problem
Really nice well priced hotel in Kensington.
Could be more mirrors in the room. Only mirror is in the bathroom and there is no plugs in the bathroom.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel, and felt very relaxed. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the hotel is very convenient for walking or the Piccadilly line. A great location for exploring London. Great breakfast, we will stay at this hotel again.
Our bedroom was a little smaller than hoped for, but very cosy. This is London.
Great location . Friendly staff. Lovely restaurant and good breakfast
I’ve stated before in the Ellen and had a bigger room . This time the room was a bit smaller but was fine for what I needed
Attentive staff, beautifully decorated room, comfortable beds, luxury products in the bathroom. Good breakfast options. Overall a comfortable stay.
The rooms are very small, with minimal storage space and few amenities for a 5-star hotel. There was no mirror at the dressing table/desk. The air conditioning was also very poor and the room was incredibly warm, so we had to open the window for a stay in the middle of January. Although the stay was comfortable, I would not class this hotel as a 5-star, it sits more at the 4-star level.
location great, reception staff were lovely and polite. the room was smaller than pictured. we were told we were given a free upgrade, so I would hate to see the size of the room we were supposed to be in! no alternative milks coffee machine only did espresso. room was clean although small and the building was beautiful.
the breakfast was shocking to be honest. asked for milk free eggs and initially he said no... another staff member intervened and said they'd sort. it arrived dripping in oil and repeated on me all day. very basic okay if you have no dietary requirements but £18 per person for London isn't awful.
The first room was so tiny we had to roll over each other to get in and out of bed . There was no room to put anything and the shower room was minute. The coffee machine was not adequate for making tea . The flush on the loo stuck so it kept on flushing and a green safety light shone in my face all night. In the morning I took these problems to the receptionist who immediately offered to swap our room and showed me the one available. It was much better . We could both get around the bed, the shower was an adequate size, and the green safety light was around the corner so it didn’t shine in my eyes. They also provided us with a kettle and plenty of drinking water and teabags. So I think the service was exceptional. What puzzles me is that if they had provided us with an adequate room first off they would have had a lovely review from me without the preamble of complaints. All the bedding and towels were exceptionally clean and lovely and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was nicely presented and substantial but I do like having coffee brought to my table so as not to spill it, and we had to fetch this ourselves. The hotel was in a quiet area with a London garden in front so we weren’t disturbed by traffic at all.
Absolutely loved my stay at the Ellen Kensington. The location is perfect. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. A special shout-out to the manger Vinsi and also to the night team, Gazi and Rio who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome during the evening. Highly recommended
Location was great and staff were friendly
No heating on all rear rooms. Rooms very small and many appliances not working. Should also not have to pay for water.
Great location friendly staff nice decor .
Very small room and my first room was cold but they moved us quickly to the smaller warmer room
The location was excellent. Rooms were a little on the small side but exceptionally clean and comfortable. Beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in.Staff were very helpful and courteous.
Rooms were a little compact
LocationClose to subway and major rail links and airportGood breakfastComfy bed
Room very smallLacked wardrobe space for 2 peopleNo full length mirrorHotel lift very slow and small...quicker to walk down 3 flights
Was clean convenient and staff were friendly and helpful
First night room was very noisy but was moved with no fuss at all
Clean modern and great location! Helpful staff
Cozy room with a great bed and pillows, friendly and responsive staff :)
The bathroom was a little to tiny and the television location from the bed is to weird.
The location is excellent, short walk to Earls Court station but off the main road in a quiet neighborhood, opposite a fenced garden. Festive Christmas lights outside and in the lobby were welcoming. Staff team were friendly, courteous and super helpful (assisted with returning my online package). Breakfast was excellent and the interior decor is elegant. We stayed in the Crown Suite which is two rooms for 4 adults, interconnected with a small hallway, which suited is very well and is not an easy configuration to find.
Very minor items only: the 2nd room is little bit tight for two adults (somewhat offset by its magnificent bathroom). Suggest please plug in the outside Christmas lights somewhere else - we unplugged them!
It was modern and clean
The room and bathroom were very small. Only 10sqm. Very disappointed with the room size for the price paid.
