Pros +
- Our room location was on the 2nd floor facing the street. It is walking distance from St Pancras International Station. There is food and drink options in this area. The hotel in not on a main road, but there is a pub next door.
- We didn't stay at mabledon court we moved to sister hotel Cavendish due to a fire, it was further away but at least an alternative was made at short notice , rooms were warm clean spacious stocked with tea coffee biscuits, towels and wash creams, buffet breakfast continental, simple but well stocked, staff were attentive and kept it freshly topped up
- Location and staff very helpful.
Cons -
- We had 32 steps to climb (or 48 if going to the kitchen), as the elevator does not work. The free wi-fi also doesn't work. There is no A/C so the window had to be open, with the loud football crowd at the pub next door drinking until very late, then someone was rattling crates bottles at 3 am, but that is not something the hotel can control. The room is very small, compared to the others we stayed in London, and UK. So we could only access our suitcases by putting them on the bed.
- At Cavendish, bit further away, 2xsingle beds push together they moved leaving a gap and quilt was too small didn't reach sides once in bed, breakfast room was small and busy continental not beans and bacon as on pictures
- The wallpaper n condition of walls is shabby. No lift

The wallpaper n condition of walls is shabby. No lift
It was quite plain to me that the fire in the hotel was an arson attack luckily I survived the attack even though the fire ignited in the basement outside of my ground floor room and eventually spread into the dining room which was located directly underneath my room number G3
Location . Price.
Very small room.Poor breakfast.
It was close to St Pancras & Eurostar
The Hotel, I think, was in the process of being refurbished?!?! Dust and rubbish everywhere, and up all flights of stairs. The room - although refurbished was not completely finished, was dirty - not cleaned/hoovered. The bed was cooped up in the corner - you had to climb over the person on the outer edge of the bed - it was similar to sleeping onboard a boat - quite claustrophobic. The shower and floor in the shower cubicle had not been cleaned - hairs, dirt & dust. The water pressure in the shower was non-existent. The breakfast room was very make-shift - had not been refurbished - and the food was either packet/tinned food - except for fresh croissants.
Proximity to rail stationsPolite helpful staff
No cooked breakfast
Staff said breakfast fruit was available from 7am, but when we went down for breakfast at 7am another staff member says there is nothing until 07:30, too late for us to wait.. so nothing available at all.
lack of breakfast at 7aminconsistent staff - very unhelpful and bordering rude, more interested in chatting to his friend. would not use again Tiny room barely big enough for two
It was Nextdoor to the pub we were meeting friends
It’s being refurbished and there was decorating materials all over the place, very dusty and dirty. Lift not working and we were on the 4th floor. I can’t understand why they are still open with all the work going on.
Room was comfortable and staff was accommodating and friendly.
It's hard to rate things when construction is going on. It was handled well and the staff and construction people were very friendly and worked around things.
Location was great! Staff were really friendly. For a short stay this is a great wee spot.
They are currently renovating but only in the corridors. Will be great when it’s finished but it is a bit ‘undone’ in some parts.
It is really close to the train station and the room was clean
It would be advisable for them to carry out some renovations in the corridor. Also, downstairs in the dining area, they don’t seem to maintain proper order …there are boxes, rags, and various items scattered around
Nothing was good at this hotel. Just the fact that the room was recently refurbished made it bearable.
on arrival at check in I was left outside for 30minutes. not a nice start! The bed is too short and the bathroom shower and basin unacceptably small.the hotel common areas are under renovation and this was not stated beforehand, so really poor in terms of cleanliness.the breakfast is less than basic.no change of bed linen for 5 nights stay.the safe did not work with code.
Great location and friendly stuff. Not expansive so its great for short stays.
Room was too tiny and breakfast could've been better.
Location
Ongoing works internally. No temperature control in room, very hot cramped room. Poor breakfast vs advertising great breakfast.
The breakfast and the facilities of transport
The room is a little too small
Have stayed at this particular hotel many times over the passing years and for the most part i would rate my overall stay as being very good. The new rooms are excellent and comfy and i don't have an problem re booking this hotel whenever i might be in london in future.
There are no negatives coming from me at all.
Location is nice, price too - that is why we kept coming back (it was our third time now). We were there 3 and 1,5 years ago. Now with the renovated rooms we thought it would be even better. But...
When we were there 1,5 years ago, the lift was not working. Coming back after 18 months - the lift still not working although I received a very nice email from the hotel that the rooms had been renovated and that there was a lift... Well, wrong information. It could be better just to add or modify the sentence (lift is there but due to renovation still not working)...Also your excellent full English breakfast ( that was also one of the reasons we kept coming back...) had been gone. What a shame! Now the breakfast is nothing special - the same and ordinary continental one...
The hotel being under renovation, it's hard to judge. The staff at the (new and nice) reception really does a very good job, and it's worth mentioning. Housekeeping and breakfast suffer from the situation and hence are not at their best... Breakfast has also changed from English to Continental (from our past experience) and it's a step backward, we think. We liked being served at the table by the charming lady in charge, now locked in her kitchen...Room's renovation is worth noticing. The bathroom was a major surprise (it could offer at least one shelf above the toilet maybe). The room (203) is small, but offered enough comfort for us two (flat screen tv, fridge) and a comfortable bed.We hope to return... ...and hopefully try one the rooms at the end of the hall, they looked slightly bigger :-) and we'd love to see the hotel fully renovated.
Polite staff and excellent location
Currently under renovation
