Location and value
No window, off the elevator you had to go up and down to the room.
Liked the staff and quietness on the weekend but no breakfast included and no window in my room.
Window in the room and include breakfast as you do on weekdays
Beautiful rooms and great venue. The opulence of stairs will have you take many photos here. The bathrooms are large and well equipped. They provide you with nice robes and slippers. The bar is filled with goodies.
The mattresses are horrible. They need an upgrade. You sink into the bed like a v shape. They are so soft and provide no support. The restaurant is closed on the weekend.
Well located close to railway station, fit the need
Prepaid, confusion with payment (had the receipt fortunately), room cold because of draught from the window.
Found it bizarre (at first) that our room had no widows other than a small skylight, however the room was very comfortable.
Didn’t find the hidden treasure cupboard (wet bar) until we were leaving when I was searching for an outlet close to a mirror .. not necessarily a bad thing after a night in the city and feeling happy I may have been tempted to get happier?!The noise of the trains could have been unsettling to some but I found it therapeutic!!
Beautiful property, staff friendly, luxurious room (tiny bit small for the price)
Shame the Churchill bar wasn’t open on the Saturday
The room and everywhere in the hotel were very clean and decorated well.
I had no idea my room didn’t have a window, I really don’t like this it makes me feel claustrophobic and makes it gloomy trying to do my make-up. I also didn’t realise breakfast wasn’t an option, or that you could hear the tube allll night. I don’t feel like i slept. Such a shame as I was looking forward to uninterrupted sleep without my toddler. With this knowledge I would have booked elsewhere.
Stayed here a few times and it didn't disappoint. The front desk service is fantastic (thank you, Luigi), and the foyer and corridors are spotless and well maintained. We were in the Latrigg room, which is slightly smaller than others we've had at the City of London Club, but still just right for one or two nights. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished and was clean and comfy. I loved the little walk in wardrobe area just before the bathroom. Bathroom was spotless, shower was powerful and hot. I just like that they think of everything here, from make-up remover towels to the varied teabag selection, from the shoe-shine pad to the luxurious bathrobes.
Nothing, it was all great.
The rooms are beautifully finished and so is the hotel, my room had no window which was a bit strange but ok, extras like dental kits shaving kits a nice mini bar and a coffee machine, place was spotless clean
We arrive on a Saturday, and there is no breakfast or lunch served at weekends, such a pity no bar open either and the bar area looks nice, just was disappointing because the place was so nice
Very lovely Gentleman, who welcomed me upon arrival; beautiful lobby, small, but very charming and comfortable room: close to transport. All in all, I had a very short stay, but I would book it again, If I am around anytime soon.
Fantastic staff. Best ive experienced in London. Beautiful decor, amenities and room appointment
The City of london club and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations, from the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The room was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch.The location was perfect, within walking distance to Bank and Liverpool Street station, restaurants and the Spitalfields market.
Leaving
Fantastic building full of the character. Room decor very plush. Didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning!
No access to a bar is disappointing (we stayed on a Saturday evening). Also no breakfast provided - given we have stayed several times previously and always had breakfast this too was disappointing. We were told that the breakfast offering had been withdrawn recently.
Excellent location (close to Liverpool station) and exquisite interior design. Bathroom is top notch. This is a distinguished City Club. Bar, restaurant and cafe have a fabulous ambiance.
Some rooms don't have a window (which I did not noticed when booking). Also, restaurant, bar etc are closed on weekends. There is hardly any life in the building, except for the lonely receptionist.
Location and good quality.
Windowless room and each time a (presumably) central line train passed there was a prolonged rumbling in the room. Complimentary earplugs provided and good air conditioning so property is doing the best they can with the situation.
Location was greatWell presented building in good orderStaff helpful and courteousRoom quite small but ok. Nice shower room
Breakfast not served at weekends, but lots of local optionsBit of a smell of drains on the top floor and in our bedroom - maybe a foul sewer vent in a wrong location
Clean,friendly helpful staff,well appointed bedroom.
The bed was too short for me-I was too tall to fit comfortably into the bed because of the wooden bed end
There are no meals served at the weekend but I was aware of that and I had planned to arrive early evening on Saturday anyway. The room was spotlessly clean (nice decorative detailing with the integrated wardrobe and bathroom door panelling). Fabulous terrace for a relaxing smoke. Lovely service from the gentleman at the front desk who brought up additional complementary water.
No window in the room. Not a problem for me in January, would miss being woken by the sunrise in summer.
Great location friendly staff in a fantastic property. Really nice modern bedrooms with en suite. Single rooms are great
Nothing the family loved it!
