    Pros +

    • Friendly staff but a bit confused at times. Quiet room though we heard the water running from the upstairs room.

    • The staff are fantastic, especially Juan and Olu! The family room was perfect for our family of four. Loved the decorations and thoughtful details like the fans in the room.

    Cons -

    • We really didn't like the room with courtyard view. This sounds pretty nice but actually it's not a pleasant view at all and the lights on the courtyard were on the whole night. We didn't really feel cosy and safe in this outdoor room. We preferred a normal room in a hallway... But okay, we didn't know beforehand. That wasn't really clear. Also breakfast wasn't in the hotel, which was a bit inconvenient since we had to leave early enough for our train connection. I found it overall quite expensive for what we got.
    • Room much smaller than it should be for the listed price for night.
    • Our shower was clogged up the whole stay, and the sink to a lesser extend. The desk staff tried to fix it but couldn't find a plumber. They offered us to move to another room after four of us had already unpacked, but we declined because we liked everything else about the room and because we had a tight schedule and didn't want to have to pack/unpack again during such a short stay.

Quietness, garden, cute houses, shower, location, friendly staff, plenty of tea in the room - never stayed in a better place in London

No hair dryer, extra bed was not that comfortable, the door was not tightly shut and one could see the light from the corridor all night, the floor was making noise. The room was not as shown in the photos.

Great location, clean and modern. The breakfast in the college hall was a highlight.

No elevator - if the room is on a higher floor it is quite a workout.

    The location was good

The room was very noisy. It is advertised to have soundproof walls which is not the case . It is promised to have a garden view but it had street view we couldn’t sleep due to the sound from the street from cars and garbage trucks instead of the garden views, nothing it the garden was visible . Breakfast was student halls breakfast with not many options of good quality

Lovely room, well appointed, nice big shower, comfortable bed and very clean.Vera on reception was very helpful. Breakfast was across the road in the banqueting Hall , everything was fresh and well laid out.

If you have mobility problems, ask for a lower ground floor room. The stairs are steep and winding, and due to the age of the property, there are no lifts.

The location was OK, being about a 10 minute walk from Kings Cross. The room was clean and modern.

One of the worst hotels I'd stayed in in London. The staff didn't seem to be interested - check-in was a brief "Good evening", a signature request, and a key given - no other details. The room was in a courtyard behind the main building - the room wasn't soundproofed enough so I could hear the people moving about outside and in the room above me until 1am. The bed was really uncomfortable as well, which added to a poor night's sleep. Breakfast was really poor - either a light continental breakfast or a hot breakfast available at some place round the corner from the hotel that wasn't signposted. Staff didn't really seem that interested to tell me where it was. Wandered around the area for 5 minutes and gave up in the end. Coffee in the room was awful as well.

Horrible experience. No aircon in oppressive conditions. Unsupportive/uncommunicative staff.

    Good location Very clean

No Lyft Difficult for senior adults to take luggage up and down stairs

    9NadezhdaPosted on: 1-15-2026

Clean, all you need was in the room

The shower only had an overhead shower, there was no flexible hose. I needed a shower cap, which I couldn’t find.

Beautiful hotel, I've stayed in many times. Comfortable room, quiet location. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Nothing for me personally - people might find the steep stairs (no lift) an issue, something to be aware of.

Convenient location near to King's Cross and St Pancras. The staff were very friendly and were really welcoming. The room was very clean and stocked with a kettle/tea bags/biscuits etc. Everything felt quite safe and secure.

We were staying in a "Mews" room, which are additional rooms in an extension to the back of the property. The room was mostly glass windows along 2 walls. The curtains on these could not really be closed properly around the door etc. Passing other rooms we could see into them very easily. These windows were also not very well isolated from noise. We could hear some girls talking somewhere in the space outside until very late at night, we could hear the sink and footsteps in the room above as well. So, quite noisy overall.

The checkout with the lady. Fast and effective.

This hotel does not match its advertising. We booked a double room with courtyard view and received a room facing a wall. The “garden” shown in the photos is not part of the hotel, but a garden across the street. This is misleading. When we asked for the room we paid for, it was refused. We were instead offered an “upgrade” for £50 per night, and then accused of trying to get a free upgrade — which was completely false. The toilet flush was broken. We were moved to another room, again not a real double room, just two single beds pushed together. The main problem was the male receptionist, whose behaviour was dismissive, confrontational, and unprofessional. I travel once a month since years, I never experienced something similar. Other staff members were polite and at least tried to help (lady in the reception and the male receptionist during the night).Breakfast is in a separate building (not disclosed beforehand), there was no hair dryer, and overall the hotel offers poor value for the price.Photos attached so future guests can judge for themselves.
