Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars is a Grade II listed hotel resided on the former grounds of King Henry VIII’s Bridewell Palace that was built around 1515 as his short term residence. Over the years the grounds witnessed a variety of purposes, including a public school, prison and a warehouse just to name few. Air conditioning did not work well and hence we had a couple of sleepless nights.
The rooms are really big, and our son had space to run around in even with the cot being there. Very good value if you get this through a secret deal. The AC was effective. It's family friendly, and right outside a tube station.
My partner said she felt the towels could have been newer, and one of the soap gel tubes was only half full. The room could do with another light.

Our room was dark and gloomy facing the inside of the hotel. Would much prefer to have an outside view.

Honestly there was nothing we didn’t like about this hotel. We stay one night and everything was great start to finish.

Over price on food and drink
The location is fantastic to get to/from the airport to anywhere in the city, it is quiet, rooms are generous, beds incredibly comfy. Dinner at the City Lounge was delicious too. The gym is new and well equipped.
It's a bit older and not a classic 5-star but worth the value; I would not stay here for a romantic get-away but it's ideal for a busy city trip.
The hotel is extremely conveniently located opposite Blackfriars Station so very close to the Tate Modern, Globe Theatre and St Paul's. There are shops and cafes nearby. The room was spacious, quiet and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable (medium soft mattress) and there was an excellent shower. The hotel was able to accommodate my request for an early check-in and also store my luggage for a few hours after checking out at midday.
The restaurant was expensive so I ate elsewhere. There is a kettle in the room but only teabags and instant coffee - not even a biscuit! Disappointing for a 5 star.

I like the consistency of the Hyatt Regency Blackfriars in being a very good hotel. I would visit again.
Breakfast option too expensive. Also the fact that there are two entrances at the Hotel and usually taxi drivers do not know that they need to pick up visitors from Kingcote Street. More notices would be great.
Excellent reception, staff remembered to wish my husband a happy birthday and we were greeted with cake and balloons in our room, a lovely touch!
