Monument by Excel Apartments

The Hotel didn't let me in. The code sent to access the building didn't work. They are scammers.

The property was the perfect size for the both of us for our 3 day stay. It had everything we needed including a washer/dryer which was needed due to it raining heavily on one of the days. Keyless entry was ideal too so no worries about losing a property key.

The shower took some figuring out to use for it to run warm water. The windows seemed single paned and being situated close to the pub it was a bit noisy until they closed and was more mid week than weekend.

The apartment was very nice and up to date. The bed was comfortable and large bathroom with tube/shower combination. Had a dishwasher and washer/dryer in one that worked well. Easy check-in/check-out process with keypad. The location of the apartment was great. The staff would get back to you quickly when emailing with questions. I would choose this place again when coming to London.

Great place. Close to everything I wanted. Nice people to deal with. I would go again.

Charming pedestrian lane. Quiet. Safe. Near Monument tube with many tube lines right there. We like being in the City of London. Will return.

Next time I’ll ask for help using appliances. Must be tricks: new dryer wouldn’t start, but just made clunking noise. Couldn’t get stove burner to the large size, element stuck in small heat ring.

The location was great for exploring all parts of the city with the 2 underground stations nearby and the pub downstairs made it feel like a true local stay. The communications with all staff members was very precise and quick. I would definitely book here again!

IT was on a cute quiet street despite being in a busy financial district. I complained about the construction noise and they moved me to another apartment that was a lot nicer!

There was construction in the courtyard that impacted my stay. There was no notice before the check in that there was noise and it was sawing in morning and afternoon. Woke me up.

We enjoyed having extra space vs. a small hotel room. The kitchenette allowed us to store and heat up food, and the living area with a TV was great for relaxing. Location was very convenient to the Tube with easy access to London Bridge, Borough Market, and Tower of London.

The bed was quite small for two people. In American sizing, it was a full at most. The pub across the street could be loud at times, though we noticed it most in the morning when they were dragging in new kegs.

Amazing amount of space and great location. Close to transport and groceries stores and restaurants.

The apartment did not have air conditioning as listed.

Very comfortable and complete lodging option in London surrounded by the bustle of a working city. Loved the access to Monument station, the washer/dryer and the apartment layout. Everything we needed for a truly comfortable stay in London with access to the heart of the city!

Location-walking distance to the tower bridge and tubes. Clean, spacious, has kitchenwares for cooking.

It’s not soundproof. You can hear the noise from the pub downstairs.

Good location to sites. However, it’s right next to a Pub and customers lingered outside until about 10pm. Noise level was higher than expected. Good thing we had ear plugs.

Location was very close to Monument station for easy access to the tube and walking distance to Tower of London and London bridge. Well equipped, clean apartment. Information was clear on how to enter and exit the apartment.

There is a pub just outside the apartment window. Patrons were outside enjoying the fine weather, but they were very loud as if they were in the apartment. Luckily the pub closed not too late.

The property was a great location on the map, close to Bank and Monument tube stations. Easy to get around!! But….

Unfortunately, apartment 103 which I was allocated was directly opposite a busy pub restaurant. None of the curtains closed properly so light and noise was blaring in each night until the pub closed. I rang after a sleepless few nights asking the manager if I could please switch to a quieter apartment, he said he would get back to me and I never heard from him again. I was there for a total of 8 nights which was an extremely long stint of sleep disruption. Over the course of 8 nights, my rubbish bins weren’t emptied once, the bed linen wasn’t changed, nor the bath towels or toilet paper. I had to buy my own toilet paper in the end. In 8 nights stay I would expect at least one clean and linen change for the price paid.

Good location. Very nice place. Very clean and modern.

Excellent location, professional check-in/out, multiple room facilities (safe, big fridge, dishwasher, big smart TV - even a laundry washing mashine is available should one need it. Everything quite new and in proper working condition).

The bed is quite... minimal for two normal-sized persons, a slightly larger one would have been better. Comfy mattress, though. Also, the windows sound insulation should be improved for avoiding involuntar participation to nearby pub's events. Anyway, they settled down by 21.30, so no harm done. Until then we felt in the middle of things so we went there for a pint of beer. And it was nice.

I was in the ground floor on the alley. The pub crowd socialized directly outside our window.

The small apartment was exactly what we needed, comfortable bed, good wifi The location was perfect for visiting by foot almost all the attractions ( for us, but we really love to walk ) but when we got very tired we used the subway and we had 2 metro stations near us : Monument and Bank station. I loved the fact that we had a lot of pubs near, markets and coffee shops. A nice touch was the umbrella in the room ( was a little broken but useful) We asked for a plug adapter, and they helped us very fast.They also offer help with the luggage for the days you check in and outI also loved the fact we stayed on Lovat Lane, and you will see groups of turist coming to visit the street.

The only thing that actually really bugged me was the fact that the checkout was at 10!!!At 10:05, the cleaning ladies rang our door 3 times... i know it was their job, and they were really nice and understanding ( they gave us time to continue to get dressed to leave)The check out should be at 11 at least, considering the price and the fact that the check in is at 3 The shower only had a high shower head fixed in the wall ......Also, the entire stay i tried to make the apartment warmer, but the ac did not work
