Nothing. All good
Very comfortable, clean, spacious enough and good amenities.Close to London Tube making it easy to get around. Helpful staff.
Given the price paid, would expect breakfast is included. A little delay on our taxi going out even though we had followed the instructions and advice provided by staff.
Great service and friendly staff. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well designed. Excellent breakfast. The pool was great too - tried it for the first time on this visit.
Nothing that I can think of.
Breakfast (although should have a quiet area as we didn’t want to hear people on phone calls)Bed comfyLocation
Bit pricey for room size and view
Location, relatively new hotel, modern facilities, excellent sound proofing and an above ground heated pool. Positive and friendly staff. We stayed here four years ago several times after our first was born for staycations so this was a return with our second in tow who is currently a newborn. We booked for two nights with a room with two double beds and later upgraded to another room with a bath. Reception, Cleaning and room service staff are delightful and helpful as ever, and the touches for children such as the treasure hunt, new year cookies, gifts and children’s menu are welcomed in a very child unfriendly city (speaking as a resident of 15 years). Room service breakfast and dinner (which we indulged twice) was delicious and extremely prompt - I’ve seen negative comments regarding this but we thought the food was on par with the Ivy brasserie next door. We also received a gorgeous cake the evening our arrival as the visit was to celebrate our wedding anniversary (but we were sick during Christmas), very special indeed, and thank you.
The hotel has inevitably suffered from some wear and tear that now needs addressing. Chips on steps to the pool pose risks; holes in sheets and very grubby windows which is a shame as the sunrise/sunsets from this hotel are gorgeous. In our first room the shower didn’t drain properly and practically flooded the floor (I alerted the front desk), after we upgraded to another lower room for the second night because we wanted a bath, we had a relatively working drain but they clearly need replacing. The staff who deal with greeting and luggage were somewhat curt and unhelpful, even at one point telling us to move on in the freezing cold after we’d checked out and were looking for a cab outside because some photo shoot was taking place (which we did without complaint) but it seems unnecessary as we were paying guests and just wanted to get home. It was also a Sunday and if you’re arranging a photoshoot in front of the hotel this seems illogical. Pool was fabulous as always however firstly, I do wish it was slightly warmer so babies could use it (and some adults we saw actually cried out it was too cold for them, which was hilarious!) and being prompted several times that we had to leave after 15 minutes (unnecessarily) on a Sunday morning at an empty pool that we were a few minutes past ‘children’s hours’ when all the people there were just sat on their phones the entire time is crass and just rude. We get it. We had one 4 year old. I’ve never fully understood these hours since frankly people with kids are the ones who use pools the most. Perhaps there should be adult hours only enforced. Families, particularly those with young children, are spending a lot of money during their stays. Shangri La in Hong Kong is a good source to model on if you want to capitalise on this.
Amazing location, views and room...
Staff were very friendly and helpful . Room was lovely. Thank you for the upgrade..Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was decent
My wife saw a mouse in the bar area. For the room price we expected breakfast included
Extremely clean and excellent location. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The bar area was cosy and relaxing. Again, the staff were amazing!
Breakfast was pricey for what was on offer. Limited choice. However, the quality of food was exceptional.
Everything and everyone was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. Close to underground tube. Very clean and every need was met quickly.
Liked everything about this hotel.
Great breakfast selection. Great location...walkable to nearby shopping and restaurants/food places. 5 minute walk to the nearest train station. Umbrellas provided was definitely a plus!
My daughter (29 yrs old) went alone for breakfast and they didn't provide the same courtesy as they did with me. The staff should treat all guests equally.
Everything about the hotel is 10/10, the staff are great, the housekeeping team are the best I’ve experienced. Every little detail is thought out and it shows, the view of the gherkin from our room was a bonus aswell.
There was a £150 per night deposit, paid at check in that I wasn’t aware of which is refundable at check out but can take 5-10 working days to reach you.
rooms and location
you can tell the finance team is now running it- restaurant which was one of the best Singaporian food in London is now super average and just 10% as good as it was- toiletries are cheap and overall just no longer the experience it once was- its the little things that add up and they have no doubt saved a few £ but its no longer high end and my favourite hotel in London has fallen quite far
Stylish, clean and spacious interiors with attention to details
The spa space was a slight let down, not enough loungers, the pool was very cold. Further, the sauna and steam room was located in each of the men and women’s changing rooms and not in a joint facility. This was surprising for a couples trip.
Loved the staff, decor and location. And smell!!
Nothing comes to mind
Food in second floor restaurant was superb and all the staff are too. Very good quality property
The mattress in my room was worn out with dips on either side and needed changing
Overall excellent!!
We spent a lot of money on room service and the quality of the food wasn’t as you would expect ! It didn’t match the quality of the rest of the hotel…. Food not pipping hot, food on the menus not available, pancakes and toast burnt ! No sauces for the English breakfast despite asking twice !!
Staff, Room, View, the dinner in the room, I had a good time, I was a bit ill so I was happy that I took a nicer room.
The room was a bit cold
The staff throughout the hotel were so amazing, kind, helpful and friendly The hotel was quietReally nice bathroom and lovely toiletries
The hotel was too far from the centreThe air conditioning never switched off, never got a full night's sleep so noisyNo fridge The way I had to pay £900 to cover our stayReally hard bed and pillows
