    • The Hotel is absolutely stunning. Depending on where you wanna stay in London of course, for us it was perfect. DLR in walking distance, quick connection to the city. The owner was around, personally taking care of everything and interacting with the guests - a real gentleman who knows to interpret hospitality in his very own way. Breakfast exceptional, oriental but still everything you would expect from a continental and British perspective. You have to love this place. Sauna and Hamam were great too. Everything extremely clean, staff always on. Really an unforgettable stay, we will definitely come back.

    Cons -

    • nothing to dislike, not a single thing
    • The room was very small for a couple felt quite clostaphobic just about enough room to get around the bed
    • A bit noisy from outside but that’s London!Gym isn’t the best but has enough to get the job done

The themed rooms and quirkiness of the hotel, lovely staff, very clean and very comfortable

We really liked our stay in this hotel, it honestly has a soul. Decorations were really nice, didn’t feel dusty or not cared for, even though there were many. Breakfast was really good and staff were nice. The room had everything we needed.

I could spot some minor things in the room that need to be repaired (one of the light fixtures missing, chair was caved in), nevertheless it wasn’t bothersome and overall room was really nice. I would also consider some shades with more coverage for the window, as it was quite light at the nighttime.

Lovely decoration throughout the hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast

Room felt a bit dated, not as advertised on photos

    Bric a brac everywhere. Does...

Bric a brac everywhere. Does not look like the photos, hugely uncomfortable in its strangeness. If they removed it all it would be such a beautiful hotel as advertised. It is a pity.I think many reviews complimenting the owner are fake.Could not imagine a less romantic room, we ended up leaving without staying the night. Very disappointed.

Staff very friendly and location to station.

Not much in the surrounding area close by.

Great concept to theme the rooms around different authors, loved all of the beautiful plants everywhere, delicious breakfast.

Room was okay, but small with a too small double bed. Biggest issue, however, was the vent noise from the adjoining building and the fact that the light blinds don't block out the light, making it very difficult to sleep. Also found it strange to be asked for ID in a UK hotel, this is not normally the case, nor is taking a cash deposit, which although refunded, did mean I was £100 down for the day of our visit because it was Sunday. Not keen on all of the clowns, sorry!

A very original concept with the themed bedrooms.Collector's paradise with an array of beautiful or unusual mixture of objects on display all around.Excellent breakfast buffet, Nice roof garden bar.

The restaurant is not displaying the menus very effectively and probably does not attract attention for potential diners.

Very clean room, lovely quirky hotel. Powerful shower

It was very warm despite turning the ac to the lowest setting.

Room was lovely and we were upgraded too. A short walk from the DLR stop. Lovely Italian restaurant nearby to get dinner.

We did have to wait to be checked in. Although the room was lovely the rest of the hotel did feel quite cluttered with the ephemera.

    10DanPosted on: 2-2-2026

From arrival to the moment we left you felt like a guest at someone's house. The rooms are clean and well presented with a dedicated story of an historic figure. The hotel displays small figurines that have you wandering the communal areas in wonderment. The breakfast was fantastic and we booked an evening meal in the restaurant which was also of the same standard.

The fact we only had one night. We will definitely return and spend more time using the full facilities.

Hotel location, Breakfast was wonderful, porcelain figurines, paintings, books, a piano. The Hotel is unique and inimitable.

I liked the unique design and decor, really accommodating staff and nice breakfast

Maybe slightly later tvs but overall nothing I’d say!

Breakfast was exceptional, hotel was beautifully designed

Our double room was lovely but it was very small. You also need earplugs as both DLR and vehicles on Commercial Road cause disturbance

    10IanPosted on: 1-25-2026

Lots of art on the walls and many objects on display - quirky and interesting. Rooms all associated with famous people, with an information plaque just outside the door. The breakfast room was lovely with a good selection of food for a buffet style breakfast

Our room was on the small side but ok. The coffee was a bit pricey

    10StephenevansPosted on: 1-24-2026

A stunning hotel with a very Kitsch flavour. Staff were very very good and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Around every corner there is something new and interesting to discover.

    No issues.
