The Clerk & Well Pub and Rooms

The large rooms at the cost that we are spending in London is really good and how friendly and warm the staff are. Along with offering discounts at the pub downstairs that was unexpected.

Great hospitality. We arrived early but still were able to check in. We even got a drink in the pub on arrival. Thank you!Water and snacks provided in the room.We ate in the pub in the evening and had a beautiful meal. There was also a 10% discount on the food. The location was ideal with direct connection by tube to both Paddington and Liverpool Street stations and within walking distance of several Museums and sights to visit.

No lift and steep stairs but that wasn't an issue for us.

The room was very comfortable with a lovely en suite. The staff on arrival were friendly and helpful and offered us a complimentary drink in the bar. Ideal location, close to Farringdon underground station/a short walk to Oxford street and covent garden. Lots of nice places to eat and drink nearby also. An all round great place to stay!

Location, very quiet, comfy bed, big bathroom, mixed feelings about walking up 3 steep flights of stairs,very nice pub below, convenient to tube station

No view (hence the quiet), tiny room (fine for 1 person), no breakfast (but options nearby), steep stairs are not for everyone

Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Good location. Well appointed rooms, nicely decorated although starting to show signs of wear.

It was a shame the pub was closed we had been hoping to eat there for ease. Just one robe for two person booking.

Cute, quiet, clean, comfy, huge bathroom. Room service was impeccable. Staff was responsive and helpful when needed, even though the pub was closed for the holiday. Tube and bus stations close. Easy walking to St Paul's and British Museum. Would definitely stay here again.

Was a bummer the pub was closed, but with the holiday I get it. I'll come back another time! The Netflix account wasn't logged in, but it wasn't a huge deal for me.

The check-in was easy and the staff were very friendly. The room was large and comfortable, nicely furnished and well equipped.

My room was at the front of the pub on the first floor, directly above the bar, so there was a fair bit of noise from the bar beneath and also from the road which was busy throughout the night. Perhaps I should have realised this when booking a room above a pub!

We stayed for 5 nights. The room on the top floor was very comfortable with plenty space and being in the back of the building it was quieter than when we stayed in the front. Bed was comfy. The bathroom was tiny but the shower was good. Tv was massive. Daughter was in a next door room and her room was smaller than ours and would have been a bit tight for two people with luggage but the bathroom was huge and the tv was small. Location is very good with buses to Oxford St as well as being very walkable too. Nice and close to great places like St Barthololmew the Great and Smithfield as well as St Pauls and walks across the river. We walked to Borough Market easily from here. Also being on the Elizabeth Line its a super easy ride out to the airport!

The steep stairs. We knew about them so were prepared but they would be hard for some with bad knees or heavy luggage.

Good location, lovely and helpful staff, room was cleaned daily with towels refreshed, etc. food was great (and you get 10% discount for food and drinks in the bar when staying in the rooms.. big bonus).

This is just for us (and this can’t be helped) we were on the very top floor. No lift and steep stairs.

Staff were extremely helpful in taking our luggage to and from our top floor room. The meal in the pub restaurant was excellent. We will undoubtedly return

Quite a few stairs

The room was big and very comfortable. The bed was extremely cozy and it was surprisingly quiet. We loved the tea and coffee and water in the room, and all the amenities in the bathroom.

We had expected breakfast being delivered to the room but we appreciated the teas and coffee, and water that was provided. We were just confused by the description on Booking.com.

Beautiful decor, friendly and accommodating staff and all the little touches in the room like ear plugs in the bedside table; a mini fridge with fresh water; complimentary drink on arrival and free Netflix.

Didn’t bother me at all but the stairs are quite steep so anyone elderly or with a disability would have struggled.

Traditional Inn, welcoming staff and our room was very clean and comfortable. We had plenty of complimentary water, teas, coffees and biscuits and snacks.We had a delicious meal and staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Well located, cosy rooms, well equipped. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good pub downstairs with good food.

The interior design was so cool and cozy. The room size was generous and I like how they provide free snacks and some amenities.

Everything.....friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Great bathroom and shower. Really good location very near Chancery Lane underground. We were in room 9 at the top of the building and it was very quiet. Had a great night's sleep
