- This is absolutely not a 4 star establishment. They don't clean the apartments everyday, they don't change the sheets during your stay - i was pretty disappointed.i would only stay here at a lesser price.
- The location near to underground and mini market and resto
- One of, if not the nicest places we've stayed in London. Genuinely lovely apartments, well kept, clean, tidy and fantastic views for the same prices as a run-down flat elsewhere. We now check for availability every time we travel.
Cons -
- i took a shower in cold water. it got colder after i started.. my friend called the desk but nobody picked it up. so she came all the way down to the front and told that.. but she only said. 'we have to call the person' waited for a while but no one came.

The location and the room is perfect for group business trip in central of London.
The lift could have been better.
Great rooms, clean, great location
Plenty of space, stocked with everything you need. Great location with easy access to the Tube and walkable to Tower Bridge.
The apartment itself was very nice if basic. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apt with a kitchen and sitting area. The place was clean and quiet. Very easy access to London transit (Aldgate East tube), and a decent grocery store very nearby.
The sofa was very uncomfortable and cheep. We had to add bed pillows to be able to sit up. The TV is far from the sofa, and at a bad angle but we coped. We were surprised to be given only 2 dishwasher pods and no extra toilet paper although we had booked 8 nights. That felt cheep and unwelcoming.
If I were a 20 something living in London this place would be a dream Flat. Fantastic kitchen with washing machine. Cozy space
The whole building was under construction so we woke up at 9am to 3 construction workers looking into our bedroom window. So there’s that. The WiFi didn’t t work but luckily the kind front desk worker set us up with a new wifi set up. The Whitechapel neighborhood is really full of college aged kids but is in the middle of a lot of Turkish restaurants to try.
We had the most horrible experience with the staff. We spent a lot of money to get the best room but there was construction right outside our window. Loud drilling noises. People walking outside our bedroom window as early as 8:30AM. Heavy drilling noises on our wall. You just could hear anyone speak, let alone the headache from the continuous drilling for 8 hours. After taking a recording and showing the staff our problem, they did nothing. The front desk is horrible and you cannot talk to anyone beyond them.
Everything. The very unhelpful staff!! They knew the construction was bad, they knew it was right outside our window. Construction workers walking right outside our balcony window, which we paid extra for. We also paid extra for free cancellation and would have cancelled had we known there was drilling on our bedroom walls all day starting at 8:30AM. We had come from the US and wanted a place to rest from jet-lag and we couldn’t sleep due to the horrendous noise . But worse than that was the cold stiff staff. They heard the noise and just said we can’t help it. Off the $4000 we paid, they gave us $200 for our discomfort. This wasn’t a simple discomfort it was a nightmare.
We were very disappointed!
The apartment is different from the pictures. The furniture is old. The sofa is so old that it’s uncomfortable to sit on. Since there are renovation works going on in the building, we woke up every morning to the sound of drilling. The renovation noise ruined our vacation.
Conveniently located about a 15 minute walk from the train station. Bus stop is very close to the building and we got around to all the tourist spots with ease as the tube was only a few minutes walk away too. It is a nice stroll to the Spitalfields markets, and a short bus ride away from the Tower of London. Very safe as the reception area was staffed and the key was needed to access the building door after 6pm. The apartment was lovely and clean, had everything we needed in it.
The only downside was the construction going on outside during the day, however it didnt affect us at night. We had no problem with it as we were out during the day however it is good to keep in mind.
Its strategic location, complete facilities. And they have lift/elevator which really important if you bring big and heavy luggage
There was some renovation on the building during our stay. Sometimes it can be a bit noisy
very spacious, clean and comfortable apartment, we were a group of 4 adults and 2 children and we had lots of room in a two bed/two bath apartment. Very convenient, less than 5 mins walk from Aldgate East tube station and 20 min walk from Liverpool St tube/train station, within walking distance of Tower Bridge/Tower of London etc (approx 20 mins). Close to supermarket (Tesco Express), cafes and restaurants.
The only very minor complaint I have was an unsavoury smell in the hallway (4th floor) but it didn't affect the room.
Location and kitchen space. Sadly, more than we disliked than we liked.
October 9 to 14, 2025. We chose your property based on its reputation and online presentation; however, several serious issues significantly affected our comfort, safety, and overall experience.Key Issues Experienced1. Unexplained Room Change & Elevator AccessUpon arrival, we were told that the elevator to our room on the 11th floor was out of service and were directed to use another elevator and walk up with our heavy luggage. Although the lift was later operational, our room was relocated to the 5th floor without explanation. We were looking forward to a high floor for a view of the city.2. Building-Wide Scaffolding & Loss of Privacy/ViewsThe building was entirely covered in scaffolding, with active construction underway. Workers were visible directly outside our windows, leaving us unable to open the drapes or windows. This eliminated ventilation, cool air, privacy, natural light, and the views that influenced our decision to book at Marlin Aldgate.3. Bathroom Limitations & Water Shutoff NoticeThe hairdryer could not be used in the bathroom as the outlet made no sense. I was told to use a converter, even though it was the property’s hairdryer, and that didn’t work, or use the hairdryer in the bedroom. Which would have been fine, except the bedroom had no outlets near a mirror, making it challenging and frustrating to style hair.No guidance was provided for towel heaters; therefore, we were unable to use this amenity. On our final night, we were notified that the water would be shut off at 9:00 a.m., requiring us to shower early and store water for toilet use.Misleading Room LayoutThe website showed that our room had two sofas, yet our unit had only one extremely uncomfortable couch, inadequate for four guests. Staff were unsure if other units had different furnishings.5. Maintenance & Safety ConcernsThe ensuite bathtub would not drain without manually lifting the drain with a spoon.
Disappointing experience ar Marlin Aldgate Tower Bridge Apartment
Dear Marlin Aldgate Apartments Team,I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with my recent stay at your apartment, which I checked into on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Despite paying approximately £2000, I experienced subpar conditions that significantly impacted my stay. The apartment was old and dirty, with issues such as a bathtub that didn't drain properly. Additionally, the bedroom door was faulty and kept getting jammed, causing me to get stuck in the room. I had to regularly apply back and forth pressure to get out of the bedroom, which was not only frustrating but also concerning. Furthermore, ongoing construction work near my room and sitting room windows resulted in excessive noise, disrupting my sleep and causing daily headaches due to lack of rest and stress. This was not what I expected or paid for.I reported these issues to the front desk officers multiple times, but unfortunately, no action was taken. I also contacted the Marlin line, but my concerns were not addressed.. I have documented evidence in the form of videos and pictures to support my claims. I look forward to your prompt response.
Location
We feel that the property management are not transparent as when we arrived to the property we were shocked by the significant noisy and continuous disturbances of the work and big building maintenance we were consciously closing the curtains and leaving the property early and return back late and when we complained to the manager they informed us that we will reimburse you 60 pounds it was a bad experience
Well equipped kitchen, with lots of markets close by. The neighborhood has a Wonderful diverse variety of restaurants too. Handy location to Aldgate East Tube Station. Clean & comfortable for a week stay.
The building was encased in scaffolding and construction noise was loud from 9 - 5 each weekday. We were not advised in advance about this.
The property was under construction. You could not see anything from the windows. They should provide room cleaning more often rather then once per week
The room was clean, great views. Beds were comfortable, the couch bed was made up and ready to go. Kitchen was great. It is within walking distance of two tube stations. Staff were helpful and easy to talk to.
There is construcion work going on at the moment with lads going up and down on platforms outside the windows so pull the curtains unless you want an audience. The fact that you cannot book late check in or check outs until the day of need is a bit awkward. To be honest they directed us to a left luggage place near Algate station, a souvenir shop which was excellent nice staff and cheaper than taking more time in the hotel. So the front desk staff were really helpful.
