Grange Buckingham Hotel

The location.

Many items were broken - the TV, the window (no air conditioning either), bad shower pressure. Elevator also broke during the stay.

It's really close to the British museum and 2 blocks from Holborn tube station. It's in a fairly nice neighbourhood.

The hotel is not 4 star, more like 3 star. The building is shabby and the service is very limited. Breakfast is in the hotel next door. They overbook rooms - we almost didn't get one and I overheard the same issue the next day when picking up my bag.

No hotel was very good

The staff was fantastic, triple room was large and very clean. It is an older hotel so don't expect it to be shiny and modern but the hot water lasted forever, the bed was comfy, and the wi-fi worked fine. Also, the location was fabulous.

Not a problem for me, but the tv is small and has very few channels

Great location, large room with a fridge and microwave.

The mattress on the bed was rather hard.

Proximitey

Being put in the basement. It is clear they use the less than favourable rooms for the discount. It was was extremely stuffy and no circulation. I will never go back there.

Location was excellent near the British Museum and shopping, transportation, and theatre. The staff we encountered were all friendly and most helpful.

For the price we paid to find that the room did not have air conditioning in a hot July was disappointing. Also the curtains were inadequate to allow for opening the windows to allow for a breeze. Also they were ripped. Also, no breakfast.

They put me in a room in the basement under the the lobby/eating lounge, I was woke up by chairs scooting in and out and dishes clanging!!!!

The area is convenient - close to public transport, museums, Oxford Street, peaceful green squares, good pubs and restaurants. The university and its students add to the atmosphere. My friend and I were given adjoining rooms which we appreciated.

I would have liked to stay longer.

Great location, clean and beds were comfortable

The location was good for a train or bus. The tea/coffee in the room and the mini fridge was cold. The water was hot!

The bed was so hard. The water was hot but there was absolutely no pressure.

Excellent hotel close to the British Museum. Large room with a hot radiator at day time, something essential in cold, rainy and windy weather. The room was very elegant and seemed to be new. No spots, no scratches, nothing to alter its beauty. Kitchenette and good fridge. Bathtub and shower. Very professional and kind receptionists, especially Ivan.

Breakfast was served in a neighbouring hotel, so you had to rush through the cold to get some warm food. There were also some hiccups with the maintenance of the room during our stay.

Spacious room. Heating was ok. It was clean. We are satisfied with our stay.

Breakfast was at the other building. We are lucky it wasn't rainy during our stay. The lobby was a suitable to spend time.

Spacious and well decorated rooms. Well-equipped kitchen and good sized bathroom with a bath. Great location close to major public transportation and areas of interest.

The elevator wasn’t working and we were given a room on the third floor. This made it difficult for my elderly parents to enjoy their stay as they couldn’t leave the room more than once a day. Prior notification and the option to cancel the booking should have been given.

Clean, good service, comfty bed , good location and quied

The location was excellent.The atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant.The room was spacious and clean.

I don’t understand how this hotel has a 4-star rating; the facilities and furnishings are clearly outdated.Although the room had a bathtub, it was impossible to use because there was no water stopper and the hotel was unable to provide one. Showering was possible, but I specifically needed a bath to relax after the stress of traveling. It is misleading to advertise a bathtub that cannot actually be used.The elevator had been out of order for days. A staff member had to carry my 25-kilo suitcase up the stairs, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable.Just one street away, I found a much better hotel for the same price.You should definitely not stay here expecting a true 4-star hotel experience.

I think for a four star hotel the facilities are very poor , lift not working was a nightmare- both in our sixties having to walk upto the third floor. Very outdated

Totally outdated

The room was nice and as described. The little kitchen was amazing

There were some dusty surfaces and one of the curtains appeared to have been broken. Letting in a lot of light from outside which made sleep a bit difficult. But bed was comfortable and room looked amazing otherwise.

Would have preferred a memory foam mattress instead of a sprung
