The rate was adequate

Our door was difficult to open, different rates for different sizes of beds should be all the same. Improvement with hot breakfast should be done.

The room was a bit small.

Great location. Warm staff was very helpful! Appreciated the healthy breakfast, Internet and free parking. Right across one of the bridges into Ottawa. By straddling the Quebec/Ottawa border, you got a sense of that both the English and the Quebecois.

We liked everything.

The room was clean and cozy. There was a good variety of food for breakfast in a clean room manned by a young lady who was constantly refreshing the dishes and keeping things clean and tidy. The fellow who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.

I have to think hard... It usually took about 8-10 tries before the door to our room would open. The bathroom door didn't always shut properly but these were not big issues for us.

Priced well and breakfast is really good. Check out at 12. Room had beautiful city view and comfortable beds and sitting area. Highly recommend and will visit again.

Breakfast was acceptable.

On our arrival, we were told that there was no air conditioner. As the windows cannot be opened, they provided a small fan for the room. Also, the bed was not a King sized bed as advertised. Furthermore, the mattress was lumpy, we kept falling in the middle of the bed and the bed frame was noisy each time we turned (maybe something was broken). This was our 2nd time at l'Auberge de la gare. For our 1st stay, we booked directly with the Auberge and were saified, but this time we went through Booking.com. Could it be that when we book through Booking.com, the facility gives us the cheapest room they have?

Facilities are getting old, like door handle that has a problem. Staff was helpful, not a real problem!

The room was very spacious. Very nice black out curtains. Lovely heater in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was nice with good options.

Even though the bathroom was large, the shower was extremely small.

I attended an event in Ottawa. The hotel is close to the venue even though it is located in Quebec.The area is quiet. The hotel room has a big spa bathtub and I liked it so much. The plan I booked included BF service and it helped me to save time not going outside to get it.

During night time, the noise of AC was on going. It was quite annoying. All provided towels are clean but I felt smell of cigarettes'? or some smoky smell.
