    Pros +

    • The people working in The Ivy are very nice. The boutique hotel has four large, lovely rooms which are uniquely decorated. Good quality wood and marble are featured throughout. The large bathrooms have a big tub with bath salts. Very comfortable bed.
    • great room decor. Funky modern retro. Great Balcony
    • The room was beautiful. The details and amenities in the bathroom were superb. We really enjoyed the daily breakfast as well.

    Cons -

    • Hot water is not available some times("overuse by restaurant"). Rooms are dimly lit at night-can't read a book at the table or shave in the bathroom. Concierge staff couldn't recommend restaurants("I use google"). Took 3 days to get a working tv remote.
    • Very Very Difficult to get into the building to check in. Its actually a Women's Club called Verity. You have to know what door to come in and be buzzed in. No normal room service and breakfast was a continental breakfast which was well presented
    • For the cost of the rooms, we expected significantly more. Some of the staff were rude. No valet either. There is no on-site parking. The staff recommends you park a few blocks down at the paid parking lot. The area is not particularly safe.

Beautifully appointed room, very helpful concierge. Great food and meal service.

No elevator, no mini-fridge in room, no ice machine. Late checkin (4 pm) and early checkout (11 am).

Location, size of room, finishings very high end, quiet but right downtown.

The room was spacious and really lovely. Being able to have breakfast on the balcony over the courtyard was lovely but just know it’s directly across from an office that looks back.

I think the hotel facilities being women-only should have been more prominently advertised on booking.com. In the property details would be appropriate or as a caption in the photos of those facilities. I note we were messaged this by the hotel after booking (and as a reminder after it was too late to cancel). That said, we did book this hotel partly to be able to use the gym facilities during our stay so that was disappointing.

The location was great for us. We took the train from Windsor (via Detroit) to Union Station and took in a concert at Massey Hall, all within a short distance of one another. My wife loved the big shower and the bathtub. The continental breakfast was fabulous!.

We were not fans of the down pillows or the down comforter. We would have preferred sturdier pillows and a blanket alternative instead of the heavy comforter.

The rooms were spacious and the location was really good, close to public transport and bath salts were a nice touch

While the rooms were lovely for the cost the breakfast was really basic, some pastries, yoghurt and coffee/tea/juice. The staff were also a mixed bag in terms of experience not sure it’s worth the price tag

Everything was very good apart from breakfast, which was a bit disappointing. Fruit was past it’s best, orange juice was from carton and muffin was dry.

Great staff and a wonderful room. Decent location for downtown Toronto

The breakfast was delicious. The pastries were fresh baked and divine.

The pool was down for maintenance. I wish they had told us before.

    The room was very nice

It was a maze to get to and from the room. The elevator had to be operated by the staff. It felt very confined. The belcony was right across from office building where they could look directly in our room.

Loved the room, the pool and staff was very helpful. Unique facility, huge beautiful room and bathroom, loved the complimentary bath salts, excellent breakfast service delivered outside my door. Great coffee, water and tea self service outside my room.

I love the spa like atmosphere. It’s very relaxing and the staff were friendly.

The surrounding area isn’t the best. It felt very sketchy.

    6AlanPosted on: 10-8-2023

Quirky and individual decor, large rooms and very enjoyable breakfast, delivered to the door.

Accepting it is a converted building, but the number of steps throughout the building, especially at the entrance, was a big issue for moving heavy suitcases.....probably okay if only with hand luggage. No mention of this on line.

Great location, very private once you are in. We had an excellent room.

Breakfast is limited and our order came through 1 day, after that back to standard

The room and staff were absolutely top-notch! Always willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.

One of our nights, the restaurant employees were quite noisy when closing the restaurant, around 11:30. The hotel staff apologized profusely for it. Fortunately the noise lasted only about 1/2 hour.
