Customer service was A+
staff service, politeness, and the location. Alexis, the valet person was excellent. He is likeable, personable and very accommodating. Local shops and restaurants were also very good. The proximity to the bridge and other side was also great.
Overall it was a good experience by staying at this hotel. Also the fitness room was very clean and comfortable environment.

The staff at the bars were absolutely delightful. They provided great tips on restaurants and beaches.
Staff were always friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to assist. The food and chefs at CSpice were incredible - Pauleta was so nice and accommodating every morning. Recreational activities were spectacular pool side, which was always clean
THE LOCATION, AMAZING!!! Beach A1! Great time at the hotel  when I wasn¿t dealing with the drama of the hotel charging me  (& 2 other guests in my party) over $1,000. hotel employe was amazing w/helping and should be a supervisor! She followed up! #THXKYONA

Lovely beachside hotel.
Location and beach
The Beach, food, rooms, amenities and the Free breakfast was incredible. We've stayed several times and plan on staying again in January. Staff is first class, remember you and especially hotel employee of the beach bar. We love her and look forward to seeing her.

Proximity to downtown, restaurants and activities.
Location, staff and service was above expectation. However this was in contrast against generally poor hospitality and service as on the island as a whole. Street noise is a given and a trade off considering its central location.

This place is awesome. I was a bit weary about reviews that said that people aren?t friendly and that isn?t the case. Caribbean people are misunderstood. You have to be nice to the staff first for them to pay you back in the same kindness.
For an all-inclusive hotel, the food was excellent. And the alcoholic drink selection was amazing, the bar tenders knew how to make every drink I could think of. The room was very clean and comfortable. Note: all electrical outlets use European outlets.

I love the location. It's walkable to downtown. Staff is so friendly. The room has storage for each person but the bed is odd the way it was set up in the room. Only the window 2 beds have access to sun light. Share spaces are ok clean.

Cleanliness
Nothing at all. Our room was right across from the elevator . There was a stand next to our room door for people to place their cups and plates. This was disgustingly gross . The room was out dated and had a lot of dust every where . Our sheets were dirty

BE WARNED: If you choose to stay here, you could end up with a room with its bathroom across the hallway and through two locked doors. In our brief stay, that happened to us and two other couples?with no notice AND no alternative! It?s bait and switch.

Top Tips
- Book non-all-inclusive hotels 6 to 8 weeks in advance for 15-30% savings. Rates for mid-range hotels often rise 15-30% within 4 weeks of stay, especially from April through August. Many major hotel brands offer price guarantees for direct bookings and provide free cancellation on most rooms until 24 hours before check-in.
- Add a 10% service charge and 6% government tax to quoted hotel rates. This is standard in Curaçao, and published prices usually exclude these mandatory fees, increasing the total cost by 16.6%. Confirm if these charges are shown on your booking confirmation to avoid surprises at check-out.
- Choose Jan Thiel or Lagun for walkable beach access and a variety of local dining options. Jan Thiel features 800 meters of swimmable coastline and 12 restaurants within a 5-minute walk. Major hotels in these areas also offer amenities like onsite pools, spas, and kid-friendly activities.
- Avoid Willemstad's Punda district for beach activities, as its waterfront is port-adjacent with limited public access and beaches require a 15-20 minute drive. To explore culture, enjoy Punda’s historic architecture and vibrant street markets, but plan separate transportation for beach days.
- Use ATMs at Queen Beatrix International Airport to avoid dynamic currency conversion (DCC) fees. On-island ATMs often prompt DCC with 5-8% markups, while airport ATMs default to the local currency (ANG). Most international chains accept major credit cards, but local markets and taxis may not.
- Tap water in Curaçao is desalinated and meets international quality standards, making it safe to drink island-wide. If you are sensitive to water sources, ask hotel staff if filtered water or coolers are available in common areas or rooms.
- Expect 40-60 Mbps Wi-Fi at business-class hotels, but avoid peak usage between 8 PM and 10 PM, when speeds can drop by up to 35%. Guests needing higher speeds for video calls or streaming should request access to a business lounge if available.
- Tip 10% at restaurants if service is not already included; many upscale venues list a '10% service' charge on the menu, making an additional tip unnecessary. Verify with your server, and note that tipping housekeeping and hotel porters $1-2 USD per service is customary.
- Rent a car if staying outside Willemstad, as public transit can take 2.5 times longer. For example, the drive from Jan Thiel to Christoffel National Park takes 18 minutes, while public transit requires 2 transfers and 45 minutes. Confirm if your hotel offers secure parking or a shuttle option if you do not wish to drive.
- Prioritize ANEM-certified accommodations for sustainability. ANEM (National Environmental Fund) certification applies to 12 properties that audit water recycling, energy efficiency, and reef-safe practices. Ask at the front desk about participation in local eco-programs such as towel re-use or reef-safe sunscreen availability.
- Request step-free rooms in writing, as only 38% of 4-star or higher hotels have them. Of 24 properties rated 4-star or better, 9 have verified step-free access. For additional accessibility features like visual alarms or bathroom handrails, contact the hotel before arrival to confirm availability.
- Avoid event weeks like Carnival (February-March) and BNA Jazz (July) unless booking 5 or more months in advance. Carnival causes 40-50% rate increases and 90% occupancy. For a quieter stay, choose shoulder season dates and consider booking directly with larger chains to access flexible cancellation policies.
