    Very Good

    Based on 1,152 reviews

    Pros +

    • The location, the beautiful setting, the design of the building, and the staff.
    • Atmosphere of the "campus" overall. Liked the meals. Seemed a bit understaffed like the hotel is struggling a bit.
    • staff and location

    Cons -

    • No updates since my last say 10+ years ago when the place was "dated". 1 of 3 elevators working. Ice machines broken every floor. Buckets in the halls collecting leaks. The hotel is set to be shut down in a couple months, put it out of its misery!
    • there were extremely noisy guests above us and several on our floor. Children running around the halls. Loud noises coming from the rooms. I had to call to let the front desk know. The staff member moved us to another floor but it was very inconvenient
    • Did not like the room to be honest. A bit musty, slow-drain plumbing, not a good shower...could easily flood as it was a handicapped room. Had to lay towels on the floor around the shower to keep the water from just rolling out into the restroom.

    staff and location

    dated, unclean

The beds and pillows were wonderful. Very spacious bathroom. Nice full length mirror. Extremely quiet hotel. Gorgeous surroundings to the building. There is a large grass area where children could run around. It is not a 'play area.'

The room had dark lamp shades with low wattage bulbs = an especially dark room in the early morning and opening the curtains did no good. The back door entry to building was not secure. Anyone could walk in. The elevator desperately needs renivation.

Hotel has a lot of potential. Not sure it resources to maintain standards. The signs of this were I did enjoy my salmon dinner, and I thought the staff worked hard. Would probably be suitable for some large party.

    Cleanliness, atmosphere, the grounds

No, but restaurant staff and room service staff were just so-so. All other staff were excellent.

Friendly check in, friendly staff, cleanliness

    The beautiful grounds

When we walked into our room we noticed that the toilet had dirt on the seat. Also, the television didn't work.

    8Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 5-9-2023

I love the scenery. Very peaceful. The staff very attentive.

Upon entering my room it had an odor of a locker room. I used lysol to freshen the room, that didn't work. The bed was lumpy as it looked like the blanket and sheets were not pulled tight. Window was dirty.

The ease of check in, cleanliness, and overall customer service was fantastic!

My family visited this location before so we were happy to go back because we had a fond memory of our first trip but this trip was not what we hoped it would be. I don't know if I would go a third time. The bar staff was really friendly.

Front desk staff wasn't as warm and welcoming as I remembered. They did their jobs but they just weren't too welcoming. The breakfast wasn't good which is disappointing since it's a $15 buffet. My second experience may be my last.

    8HelenPosted on: 9-20-2022

AC always shut off at night so they had to reset it every morning. The pool needs a good cleaning and a little face lift.

    Clean room

The staff was incredibly rude and yelled at us for asking where coffee was at breakfast. It appears they reserve their etiquette for certain clientele. Stands to reason that if you paid to be there that should extend to you as well. Appalling behavior.

The facility and most of the staff were wonderful.

Failure by hotel staff responding to a verbal assult on my wife by a male Emory t-shirted hotel guest in the gym becaused she did not jump to open the door for hime. The front desk sent a maintenance worker who did nothing. No follow up by front desk.

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 3-28-2022

The restaurant onsite was very convenient and good.

The king size bed had small pillows on it. Why would you not put king size pillows on it.

    8Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 10-20-2021

Very nice and well kept grounds. Old look to the hotel. Clean rooms

    10ShawnPosted on: 7-30-2021

We enjoyed our experience. The rooms were clean and spacious. The property is unique and very pretty but needed some freshening up.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 6-27-2021

    Historic, clean and comfortable

Room was a bit warm we could not get the temp lower

    7StephenPosted on: 5-31-2021

Beautiful grounds. Perfect for traveling with pets and children.

Housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 am and again at 10 am, same person, and then stood outside our door talking until we checked out at noon. Television was small and outdated. Directv didn't work in the rain.
