Pros +
- The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, and we loved wandering the community on foot. We stayed here to use the mineral springs which were nice and refreshing.
- It had so much potential but the owners did not offer any info not were they friendly. They were rude on more than 1 occasion over our stay & seemed only a little friendly when we were spending money in the gift shop.
- Everything about this property is magical! The food was delicious! The atmosphere was perfect for relaxation. The spa was delightful and we had the deepest most rejuvenating sleep!
Cons -
- The entire hotel had a bit too 'much' (not a bare spot without knick-knacks) and the room was quite small. The bed wasn't the greatest. HOWEVER, we were expecting most of this - its a historic 'hotel' (more appropriately considered a true bnb or lodge).
- Run down, super small room for the price & no tv in rooms. Also was given attitude when we asked for clean towels. Was told it “was not Holiday Inn”. Food was not to our taste either. We had a large group for dinner and all meals were paid that night on one check, but we were charged for dinner on our receipt after check out. It was the only time we ate dinner there.
- Patio and outdoor cushions were dirty, strong sulfur smell in the building, no restaurant

Ambience, a step back in time. Bed was comfortable, hot breakfast
Patio and outdoor cushions were dirty, strong sulfur smell in the building, no restaurant
It’s a cute style B&B with lots of charm. The staff was nice. The spa was very relaxing and calming.
The dinner wasn’t great for the price but it added to the experience
We were traveling through and did not expect to find such a unique experience. Marc was very friendly and helpful. He and Kally have greated a unique experience which combines a nostalgic feeling inn with relaxing spa opportunities. We would have loved to stay for the breakfast, but we had a time crunch.
Because the building is quite historic it does need some tender love and care on the outside, but other than that it was great.
This is truly a hidden gem. A Hot Springs resort from another era, crumbling around the edges, but that’s half its charm. The spa services were very personalized, and the facilities could use some updating, the mineral waters truly were restorative. If you like out of the way finds, this is the spot for you!
Overly decorated rooms had me clawing through lace to reach the shower.
The food was great. We even had dinner. Owner is a marvelous cook. I had some things I never had before. Bravo
Shower not enough pressure. It was ok.
I went here for a solo vacation. It's a perfect spot to completely get away from everything. If you're wanting to go somewhere off the beaten path this is it. The spa was very relaxing. The mineral bath was very nice, my skin felt great!!!!The staff was very nice. I will definitely go again.
I enjoyed everything.
We had a great stay, breakfast was very good.
The bathroom was very small, but this was in my room.
The historic features are amazing. The spa amenities are worth the price
Would have liked some choices for breakfast
This is a beautiful old building. It has a lot of charm and a lot of interesting tchotchkes. The couple seemed nice, although a couple of answers were rather brusque, not southern. (They are not from the south.)The hot breakfast was delicious and definitely added value to the stay.
The prices for these places are ridiculous! I have paid less for a hotel in Manhattan that was more roomy. I literally had a bathroom in the bedroom. You could sit on the toilet beside the bed. You could sit down on the bed to brush your teeth at the teeny tiny sink. The hotel was recently purchased by a new couple and hopefully they will be updating the property soon.
location was good
it smelled really bad of musty. horrible. the bedrooms extremely small. bathroom was even worse. your knees hit the door when sitting on the toilet.
The entire visit exceeded out expectations! We loved the Spa treatments, breakfast, the room, the staff and the location!!! We shall be returning again!!!
This hotel is amazing - it is really an old world vibe. The owners are super nice and go out of their way. There was live music when I stayed and you could get dinner as well. A hot breakfast was included in the price when I stayed.I slept very well here and also LOVED the sulphur bath (you can’t get that anywhere else I have ever been and it was not expensive!). The surrounding area is quiet but very beautiful and I am excited to get back here soon.
There are many antiques throughout the hotel and each have a story. The owners are very eager to make your stay the best possible. Dinner was extremely tasty and you get a lot for a decent price. I highly recommend the Wagyu burger!!!!
Our visit was in February and it was cold. The window ac units need a little more insulation around them. The room was drafty (expected for the time of year and the age of the hotel) and you could treat the window sill like a tiny refrigerator. I, personally, enjoyed the cooler temps as I am a human furnace these days.
The breakfast should have more selection for those who don't like what the main breakfast is that day. Everything was perfect though. Highly recommend a mineral bath or any of the spa items. Not bad on price either.
Honestly, I think the price could've been better. $270 for two nights, no t.v. in the bedroom?
I loved the amethyst bed. I came for the sulpher bath but decided the therapeutic benefits of the amethyst was more to my liking and needs. Go to the Armour with an open mind. Food was great. Owners were exceptional. If you are looking for a sleek and modern experience, go elsewhere. If you seek peaceful, relaxing, and the comfort of history, go to the Armour. You won't be disappointed.
Some of this property's character could be enhanced with gentle modern upgrades, but I believe history is important, the new owners want to make this happen and they are truly capable of it. A new coffee maker in the common area is in order.
Neat hotel/spa with a ton of history! This is the only hotel left with a spa to soak in the waters. It’s located in what’s left of a historical spa town known for its healing waters even before settlers arrived. The waters were used by both sides during the Civil War. The breakfast is amazing!
The rooms are a bit small and dated, with few outlets, like many vintage hotels. Currently there’s no massage available but planned again soon, so call beforehand. There’s only one restaurant in town (although a fun, family owned Mexican place).
I loved the big sunny room with Christmas decor for breakfast, with access to fruit and treats always out. I liked having so many kinds of Stash tea at a table with hot water right outside the door at all times. Mostly I loved the homey feeling of nostalgia and history…like being at your grandma’s where everyone is welcome, it’s informal, quiet and relaxing, really comfy bed!
