Whispering Winds Motel

Location, location, location. It was close to the event we booked and to stores.

Our TV didn't work! Well, perhaps it did but we did not know how to work it and there were not any written instructions anywhere in the room. By the time we were ready to watch, it was very late and staff was asleep and unavailable.

There was no breakfast offered, but places to eat within a few miles. The sheets and towels looked clean.

Well the paint was peeling off the wall in places and bathroom sink was coming away from the wall. The tv didn't work. There was a big gap around the door to the outside. There were dead bugs in the floor corners. It didn't look much like the online pictures. Also someones doggy next door wasn't happy in the middle of the night. I feel like we should get money back!!!!

Cute little rooms with a little outside space with a couple chairs and table.

Room was very dark. Could use a little more remodeling.

Comfy bed, very clean room and bathroom, liked having a minibar (even though we didn’t use it).

The room was clean.

The toilet did not flush properly. You had to flush many times and that still didn't do the job. The bathroom window did not close all the way and outside temp was 41degs. That night. No curtain on bathroom window which was on ground floor. Television did not work.

The location was very peaceful yet close to town. The facility is an updated motel. Amenities were exactly what we needed. The room was clean and comfortable.

There was a panel in the closet that was detached. The entry door had a gap, which could be drafty in the winter. There is not curtain on the bathroom window which made me a little uneasy.

Was a good place for one night.

I could smell the weed , from the room next room.Could hear everything in the next room.The people in the next room had no courtesy for the people in the room next to them.The door/lock was not so great.

Very friendly and communicative office staff. Imran answered any questions I had. The room had a comfortable cabin-like feel, appropriate for the location. Very neat a clean. Instant hot water!

There was no control over a very large truck parked in the carport next to mine, which left half of its back hanging out, which made it challenging to get my car in and out of my carport space.

Comfortable bed. Welcoming host. Quiet environment.

I was disappointed that the pool was not available.

The facility is extremely old and desperately needs renovation.Looks already very cheap and poor starting just with barely visible and wear off sign of this motel..The unit #7 was extremely tight with no space,looks old that desperately needs new painting at least and more care, it was no even small table in the room. The wall a/c is old and partially broken,it was extremely lowd and ,we were unable to turn it off ,the bathroom looks also old and ugly,the water flow was very weak,outside was not clean and seems nobody take care of that property.. In front of the unit there were weeds that cover the view from our window.They never come to clean despite they promised to do. We glad we stay just couple nights there ,For the money we paid we were expected much better service and better facility.VERY Disappointed ? The only good thing was pretty much comfortable bed and clean linen

Convenient location.

We were required to pre-pay more than a month in advance. The property was not well maintained. The paint was peeling, the bathroom door did not close properly, there was hardly space for our luggage, there was inadequate light in the bedroom, the lighting fixture in the closet was not properly secured to the ceiling and dangled precipitously, there was no staff, air conditioning was difficult to control.

Convenient location carport easy to unload luggage into the room quiet and clean

Didn’t look like the pictures inside the room. Metal frame beds uncomfortable mattress with a sheet and light weight blanket. The outlet going into the bathroom didn’t work. Could not reach the air conditioner.

I love this place--have stayed here before and will stay here again. It offers very convenient access to Skaneateles while feeling a little "remote." Fridge and microwave in the room are helpful.

More room lighting would have been helpful. WiFi went in and out.

What was cozy enough and a good place to lay your head for the night. Bed was big and was comfy enough, on the stiffer side. Also was warm in the room. Surprisingly very clean and not dusty at all. Sheets were clean, so were the towels.

The shower could have been better. The cold and hot decals were reversed; the hot side of the handle was the cold water and vice versa. Some paint was peeling off the wall. Also, the water pressure wasn't great. Some beetles managed to get in the room, but it wasn't an issue and I got them out. Stink bugs, they get in pretty much any building in the colder months (especially old buildings). Otherwise everything was clean. WiFi was spotty so i decided not to use it.

Dirty floors

From the outside the motor inn is cute and a bit of a throwback. It is only about 5minutes down the road from the lovely village of Skaneateles and its namesake lake. The proprietress was very friendly and check in was easy.

The place is in need of some repair and updating. Upon entering, there was the awful smell of a deodorizer (what are they masking?), the toilet seat was falling off, there were cords attached everywhere and not easily accessed, the bed was hard with a thin blanket, and worst of all the main road is right there and noisy….trucks and cars almost all night long…even ear plugs didn't help.

The motel is nestled among trees. It is quiet and peaceful.

It is very different to find when driving down the street as the Whispering Wind Motel sign is completely faded away. It needs repainting.

Location was the reason we picked this motel, close to the concert venue at Beak & Skiff.

Never saw a front desk person, arrived and I believe the housekeeping woman (very nice) was the person who had us sign our receipt as she was 'helping out'. Checked out, no one at the desk. We were in the middle of a heat wave and the pool was empty and not available. The only outlet that worked in the room had the fridge, light and AC plugged in. Nothing next to the beds worked to plug in our phone chargers and the one outlet in the bathroom only worked if the light was turned on. Shower was awkwardly small. The room worked for one overnight stay, but will probably never stay there again.

The Bates Motel would have been better

It was dirty. The ice bucket was left full of water - I went to empty it and spilled some - when I whiped it up with a wash cloth it was black. Only 1 light on the bathroom - not above the shower - with a curtain so short it didn’t reach the floor Cobwebs in all the corners - glass shutters on the door with no curtain and an outside light shining in all night. This was awful and we feel the Bates motel would have been nicer. Awful. Never again. Disgusting. Fitted shit did not fit 4 corners of the bed - a no smoking room yet the fitted sheet had a cigarette burn in it ?!?! This was awful and disgusting
