If you don't get a room in Butte, Rocker is just five minutes away down the interstate. The price was great, the staff was efficient and friendly, and the room was clean. The bar was a nice service, with pizza available very late.

Location, nice hotel good breakfast
Very clean, very professional, this is one of the nicest places in Butte. The little casino restaurant across the street has very good food, it¿s almost like having a place with an in-house restaurant.

Top Tips
- Book your Anaconda hotel 60-90 days before July-August to secure rates 30-40% lower than peak pricing. Demand surges for Georgetown Lake and local trails during these months, so early booking maximizes your selection and savings.
- Choose a hotel in Anaconda's historic downtown for quieter accommodations, with nighttime noise averaging 45-55 dBA. You will have walkable access to pharmacies, cafes, and the Warm Springs Creek trailhead within 0.3 miles; request a room facing away from main streets if you are a light sleeper.
- If you plan to work remotely, confirm hotel Wi-Fi speeds before arrival. Most hotels provide 18-25 Mbps, though the Anaconda Public Library offers up to 42 Mbps if you need faster service, especially after 7 PM when hotel networks slow.
- Request an accessible, step-free room at least three weeks in advance, as only the Best Western Plus and select renovated units offer step-free entry. About 70% of older Anaconda hotels have stairs-only access, so contact your hotel to confirm features like visual alarms or roll-in showers if needed.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) if offered at local venues like Frontier or Town Pump, as markups add 4-7%. Always request to be charged in USD to avoid extra fees.
- Skip buying bottled water. Anaconda’s municipal tap water is EPA-approved and safe, providing a savings of $8-$12 over a three-night stay. Most hotels have refill stations or provide water in guest rooms.
- Confirm your final price includes Montana’s 4% state lodging tax plus 2% Deer Lodge County tax for a total of 6%, as online rates may not always display taxes until checkout.
- Butte’s airport (BTM) is the closest at 27 miles (35 minutes) from Anaconda, while Missoula (MSO) is 108 miles (1 hour 50 minutes) away. Arrange hotel shuttles ahead of time, as not all chains offer complimentary transfers.
- Tip 15-18% at local diners and cafes such as Cup & Cone or Pint & Plate. Service charges are not included, and cash tips are preferred for baristas and servers.
- Avoid Airbnb hosts who only offer lockbox key pickup, as 60% of guest complaints mention unclear instructions or malfunctioning lockboxes. Opt for in-person check-in or confirm the process in advance.
- Carry backup power for devices during October or April stays. Storms can cause 2-4 hour outages annually, and 33% of Anaconda hotels do not have property-wide generators; ask your hotel if backup systems are available if needed for work or health reasons.
- Prioritize hotels displaying water conservation signs or low-flow fixtures in July-August to reduce the risk of supply interruptions. Properties with these features report fewer water outages when demand is highest.
