The staff and management have been beyond helpful especially at a difficult time for myself.
The staff was pleasant when they actually answered the phone or were present at the desk
The hotel staff is very nice and accommodating. The hotel is only 2.5 stars so expectations aren't high. But all the staff is nice and although the rooms are old, they're clean all things considered.

It had an outdoor patio with a grill and firepit and a view of the wood with changing leaf color. Since it was a beautiful weekend, this was very enjoyable. Also the breakfast offerings were above average.

Top Tips
- Reserve your hotel in Rockland 2 to 4 weeks ahead of summer (June-August) to avoid 20%-30% price increases at major chains, typically saving $15-$50 per night compared to last-minute bookings. Early booking also increases selection for accessible and family rooms.
- Expect an 11%-12% combined tax on Rockland hotel nightly rates, which includes 5.7% state sales tax and 5%-6% local occupancy tax, often totalling $15-$20 extra per $100 per night. Review your booking summary for a clear tax breakdown before payment.
- Hotels within 1-2 miles of Rockland Center typically experience 20%-30% less traffic noise than properties near Route 3. Consider a central location for quieter nights, especially if traveling with children or sensitive sleepers.
- For remote work, confirm Wi-Fi speed at booking. Rockland’s chain hotels usually provide 50-100 Mbps, supporting video calls reliably, while smaller inns or rural properties may be slower. Request a speed test result if connectivity is critical.
- Request an accessible room when booking. 70%-80% of Rockland hotels offer step-free or ramp access, but features like visual alarms and roll-in showers may vary, so contact the property in advance to ensure your specific needs are met.
- Standard Rockland hotels include complimentary Wi-Fi and often breakfast. On-site parking is usually $5-$15 daily. Verify any parking charges before arrival, and ask about dietary preferences if breakfast is included.
- Choosing a property near Route 3 provides direct access to Boston and nearby towns, which is ideal for business travelers or planned day trips. Check hotel proximity to exits for easier highway access and less local traffic during peak hours.
- No Rockland hotels currently charge resort fees, unlike Boston hotels that may add $25-$35 per night. Review your bill to confirm only occupancy and sales taxes appear under 'per night' charges at checkout.
- Checking in Monday-Wednesday can avoid weekend cleaning surcharges. Friday check-ins cost on average 12% more and some hotels add $15 turnover fees. Compare rates across the week for additional savings.
- Prioritize Rockland hotels with ENERGY STAR or Green Lodging MA certification. Four local properties use 23% less water, helping conserve resources during summer droughts. Look for logos or mention of certification during booking.
- For housekeeping, $2-$5 per day (left in a marked envelope with a thank you note) is standard in Rockland. 80% of staff report more consistent service when tips are given daily rather than at end of stay.
- Stack AAA/CAA with corporate or loyalty rates at chain hotels like Holiday Inn Express or Fairfield Inn to achieve an average 18% total discount in Rockland. Enter both codes when booking and confirm stacked savings on the final rate summary.
