    Pros +

    • Good location. Easy and free parking. Quiet
    • The history and the solid structure. Very quiet as walls and floors were solid.
    • The host, Robert, is wonderful. Breakfast is unique. The building is historic, filled with antique treasures and in the historic downtown area.

    Cons -

    • Bit run down, needs some TLC. Room was missing basic items, ie coffee cups, side table by bed, few outlets
    • It is very old so some furnishings were very worn. a shade in our room was broken and would not raise.
    • Very tired room: peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, wall outlets with multiple floors extenders that shouldn¿t pass a junior fire inspection, a totally non responsive manager who didn¿t answer email, voicemail, or texts. We walked away from a prepaid night

Building has lots of character. Not perfect, but I wish I look that good when I'm that old. Staff was the perfect host. Short walk to bars and restaurants.

This hotel is charming and the breakfast was much better than expected, with a hot option.

This old hotel is past its prime. The bed was not very comfortable. The hot water faucet was broken, requiring a trick to turn on and off. The curtains were shabby and torn, but it was charming in a run-down kind of way, and the price was reasonable.

    HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE.

FACILITY WAS DIRTY.FIXTURES WERE NOT KEPT UP.MATTRESS WAS PAST IT'S LIFE EXPECTANCY.TWO PEOPLE ROLLED TO CENTER.THERE WAS AN EXTENDED POWER FAILURE.NO EMERGENCY LIGHTING IN HALLS OR ON STAIRS. OWNER/STAFFER WAS RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN

NOTHING!!!!!!TERRIBLELY RUDE STAFF. WE DIDN'T STAY THERE.

No guest parking area. Very rude and unprofessional owner or manager to me and the lady with me when we went inside to check in. Because of the attitude and the rudeness we left and went and stayed somewhere else. Not happy at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is located in the downtown and close to the Museum and river walk, and Casino. Parking is free just across the street. The hotel is a beauty with culture. The owner cooked the breakfast for us, fresh and tasty. Will try the big master room next time!

The innkeeper was amazing - so nice, so attentive.

However, the room was a bit dirty - dust along baseboards, spiderwebs on frame in bathroom, wallpaper falling off walls and sometimes held up with multi-colored thumbtacks. Rugs and furniture were worn. Towels were pink. The heater was ridiculously loud.

Atmostfer, food, room, helpful staff. He was somewhat condescending because we didn't understand how to program & use our cell phone to look at anemities of the hotel.

It was a very beautiful place. Rooms were big and beds were very comfortable. Great location, close to everything we were wanting to do while in Dubuque.

Staff was a bit odd. Things he said often came out rude sounding, but you could tell he wasn't trying to be rude just not very good with word choice. He was very nice overall.

The wonderful and unique building. It has been maintained in a historic fashion and offers a real look at the architecture of the late 19th century It is surrounded by other historic structures as well.

    Not really.

Beautiful Victorian Character in lobby and hall ways

It was not kept up well. Our room had an old sheet hung in the bathroom window as a curtain, not only was it just sheet, but it was stained and ripped up, not appealing. The carpet in our bed room was ripped and stained.
