Hotel Millwright

Location was good. Historic buildings. Room was quiet.

Onsite restaurant and bar were seriously understaffed. Food was fantastic.?service was slow and subpar.

The mirror in the room! The hotel was very cool. Enjoyed all the equipment from the old building and decor as well.

Was kind of disappointed the restaurant was not open Sunday night. But we went to the Brauhaus that wasn't too far away and was a very cool place to hang out.

Very clean and the staff were excellent.

We loved this hotel. So much history! Everywhere you look the hotel had old industrial machines. It looked like a museum. This is the best hotel I've been to in a long while. I highly recommend this hotel!

We came a cross this little gem and never knew the story about the Amana Colonies. We sat at the bar for drink and ended up eating dinner there. Great conversation with another couple and the bar keeper. Loved the whole town concept decor of hotel.

Location was very nice! Happy they are dog friendly!

Choices were fine and tasted delicious.However, there was considerable noise from corridors and adjacent rooms often late at night.The hotel needs to add carpets to offset the polished concrete floors everywhere and naybe add some of their woven fabrics to tge walls.

There isn't one thing to not like. Fabulous facility with exceptional customer service. Clean, beautiful room and the food at the café utterly mouthwatering. We will be back!

That it is in Iowa and not Wisconsin so we could come more often!

Clean, workout room, great food, quaint, friendly people and atmosphere.

Location is excellent! It is within walking distance to local shops, wineries, restaurants, visitor center and museums.

The location in the Amana colonies is ideal for exploring by foot. And the facility is near the walking trail to Middle Amana. These are all huge plusses.

The check-in process could be more honest. We arrived a few minutes ahead of the 'STRICTLY ADHERRED TO 3 P.M. check-in hour. I wish we had been told that this is their corporate policy that no one gets in early rather than being told a fib about rooms not being ready. This simply wasn't true. And if this is going to be your practice, then I would suggest a first come, first serve policy rather than the last people to arrive were given room keys first while we were waiting and waiting and waiting. Lying to your guests is not a good practice.Also sad to me personally that the old woolen mills store no longer exists. Had I known, I would not have stayed here.

I like the layout and decor of the hotel. The rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. All the staff are very kind and helpful. Love the location in the Amana Colonies. Very close to a brewery and restaurants.

We arrived at 8 pm on Sunday night, so didn't get to experience much. We were set to golf the next morning and weather took a turn, so didn't spend much time around town or the hotel. I can tell you Millwright is just what I expected from a Mill. Our suite was a great size for four women. The living area was spacious, but could have used one more chair for four guests. The bedroom area was spacious and beds comfortable. The bathroom was great for all of us.

We moved a chair and we had a big spider. We proceeded to kill it and all of a sudden spider babies came out of the mother and we had them everywhere. We proceeded to kill as many as we could. My suggestion, in the fall I would double check the rooms for spiders or just automatically spray the rooms.

The walls are paper thin lots of neighbor noise, to the point we left at 4AM on the second night morning we were miserable. Sleeping was impossible.

The hotel and grounds were so great for us and our dog. The room size was generous, and I appreciated that the HVAC noise was low!

Only small thing was that coffee at breakfast was off - had an odd taste, but the food was great!

Location is great, walkable to everything. Lots of shops and restaurants on site.

The rooms aren't sound proof. We could hear the man from upstairs snoring.
