Good location, good price, good breakfast
I'm extremely disappointed I didn't receive even a "minimal " credit for not staying the 2nd night I reserved. Simply put, I was able to return to my home early because repairs were finished early. I checked out early too. I paid for 2 nights.

Top Tips
- Book beachfront motels 6-8 weeks ahead for peak season (January-April) to avoid 35%-50% price surges. Last-minute bookings (under 2 weeks) during the snowbird influx often sell at 45% or higher premiums.
- Add 12.5% total tax to quoted nightly rates (6.5% state + 1% county + 5% discretionary bed tax). This Bradenton Beach tax adds $22-$47 to $180-$375 stays.
- Prioritize Gulf Drive north of 12th Street for walkability and lower flood risk. Properties here sit at 6-8 ft elevation, reducing FEMA flood zone exposure by 40% compared to areas further south.
- Confirm Wi-Fi speed of at least 50 Mbps for remote work. Many free motel Wi-Fi services average 28 Mbps download, which is below the 50 Mbps recommended for HD video calls.
- Use the free Anna Maria Island Trolley instead of a car rental. The trolley runs every 15-20 minutes along Gulf Drive, which can cut car rental needs by 60% and avoid $30 or more per night motel parking fees.
- Avoid ground-floor units during king tides (October-November, February-March) due to standing water. Seawater floods Gulf Drive low points, affecting 60% of ground-floor rentals during these periods.
- Carry cash for pier rentals and small vendors, as 40% do not accept cards. ATMs at Island Discount Pharmacy and Coquina Beach charge an average fee of $4.50.
- Request 'step-free entry' explicitly, as only 15% of motels have roll-in showers. Verify photos or call directly, since online filters may overstate availability of ADA-compliant units.
- Skip Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) when using credit cards, as some motels add a 3%-4% surcharge. Pay in USD to prevent 3%-7% hidden costs.
- Limit single-use plastic; potable water is safe and dispensed at three public stations. Bradenton Beach bans single-use plastic bags and discourages plastic bottles.
- Tip 15% at casual beachfront eateries; no tipping is expected at self-service stands. Full-service restaurants expect 15% for table service, while counter spots may include service.
- Verify if linens are included in short-term rentals, as 30% charge an extra fee. Some VRBO properties add $75-$120 cleaning or linen fees for stays under four nights.
