What Guests Loved

Pros +
- You can't beat the location of this hotel to the National Park. It was perfect and saved us so much time. We also liked the Grand Oasis store and sandboard rentals right below the hotel. We loved the veiws of the mountains and dunes from our lttle patio.
- The location
- The location was perfect for my needs very close to the sand dunes.
Cons -
- There is nothing we didn't like! The only thing I'd tell other guests is that it's definitely a lodge in the middle of the mountains. It has everything you could need for a nature trip but if you're expecting 5-star luxury, it's not that.
- When we checked in we were told we would be staying in a trailer, not the lodge rooms. It was an old trailer on a pad with minimal provisions The shower was the size of a sink. It was very expensive. What a rip off and it was dirty. The bed smelled
- The only complaints are the A/C is finicky, sometimes it would run as needed, and during the night it barely ran. The maintenance staff was very noisy in the morning. With the loud talking and the noisy cartwheels being pushed. I ended up leaving.

It would be nice if the hotel had vending options after the office closes since there are no food/drink options nearby outside of summer.
I was able to check in early at 2:30 pm and the staff were very friendly. The view of the Sand Dunes from our room was fantastic. We enjoyed the hummingbird activity at the feeders off the patio.
Price was higher than quoted.
