We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The first night was on the 3rd floor and the room was really good. The second night was on the second floor and the shower wasn't clean and the fixtures were all loose. What a difference a floor would make.
The rooms were clean, well kept, and quiet, any slight problem was corrected immediately, and the breakfast was well stocked.

The heater in the room worked well! The night I stayed, the weather was cold, windy, and snowy. The nighttime temperature was below zero (-4 F). Thank heavens for the great heating system.
Really like their fridge! It has a freezer section nearly the size you see in an apartment! Great for summer travel. The rooms are clean, pillows smell good and hot water!
I have always enjoyed the Motel 6 simplicity. Tom Bodett's commercial is correct. The room was clean, the water was hot, the pillows smelled good, plenty of parking, and the price was affordable.

Top Tips
- Request a room on the side opposite I-70 to reduce road noise, and confirm this preference at check-in for a quieter stay. Upper-floor rooms often experience less noise from the parking area and highway; check if the hotel offers elevator or step-free access if needed.
- Check Colorado DOT road status the day you travel, as winter storms and high-wind blowing snow on the eastern plains can cause I-70 delays or closures, sometimes adding 30-120 minutes to your trip. Pack extra water and warm clothing in colder months.
- Contact hotels directly to confirm truck or oversized vehicle parking before booking, as lot sizes vary and municipal regulations may prohibit overnight street parking. This is especially important for RVs or moving vans frequently using I-70 routes.
- Verify the Wi-Fi upload speed with the hotel if you require at least 25 Mbps for remote work, as rural properties may only offer asymmetric or congested connections. Plan for a mobile hotspot and external antenna if stable connectivity is essential.
- Ask hotels if they provide backup power if you need consistent electricity for medical devices or refrigeration. Storms can cause outages; check policies on guest relocation if an outage lasts longer than 24 hours.
- Request a fully itemized nightly rate, including room, state and city/county taxes, and potential OTA fees, before booking. Taxes and fees in Colorado can add more than 10% to your base rate.
- Consult the Kit Carson County event calendar before booking summer dates, as local agricultural fairs or rodeos can fill Burlington hotels 2-4 weeks ahead. Booking earlier increases your chances of finding available rooms and better rates.
