Pros +
- Peaceful romantic and great food and drinks
- Wonderful grounds and the room was beautiful. They even were able to accommodate us staying an additional night. You don't get better than this place!
- The bed was very comfortable and the service of the employees was great.
Cons -
- The fact that even though the valet just parks your car less than 25 yards from where you drop your bags there is an overnight parking fee even if you self park of $60 per night -never ever mentioned -just fleecing guests —INSANITY and GREED !!
- At night someone was pushing a car with dishes so it was a bit noisy.
- No ice machine on our floor! True, but hardly a problem... All good.

Not a thing
It was beautiful and the facilities were fabulous especially the kids pool.
We were kept awake by the people walking around in the room above us,which happened two nights consecutively.I was surprised that a hotel of this standing did not have proper sound proofing.
Check-in was a mess, and I had to wait; then they forgot I was waiting. Changed my room after checking me in and having me in that room for 4 hours, then stopped working, stuck on the other side of the property. Location is great, but the service and staff have a lot to learn.
Staff, service.
Lovely grounds surrounded by golf course and bridle trails.Large rooms, some with views. Generally low-rise architecture except on slopes.Nice bathroom (though in-floor heat would be better)
Incomprehensible site layout with no intuitive path from guest room to facilities. Cumbersome path from Reception to rooms via golf carts without luggage compartments. When you call for transportation, instead of picking you up from your building, the operator tells you to go to a designated Golf Cart Stop, whose location isn’t easily evident. Maps are at every Golf Cart Stop, but none of them say You Are Here or show the directions of travel. Footpaths have sparse signage.I actually designed and own a 5-star resort in Asia, Plantation Bay, a Real Resort with a Real Spa. If the management of Ojai Valley Inn would like to see how we solved similar transport requirements and issues, please study our website. I think it wouldn’t take much effort to implement our solutions.
The grounds are stunning! Room was very clean and beautiful, bathroom roomy and elegant.
We had asked for early check-in, and arrived at 3 PM. The room was not yet ready, so we sat and waited in the lobby. At 4.10 PM, we still had not received the text about our room being ready. When I asked the reception, the receptionist went into the back office to check. Within a couple of minutes the text came through, which makes me believe that someone had just simply forgotten about it. We find Ojai Valley Inn slightly over-priced, comparing to other luxury hotels both domestic and international.
Beautiful groundsBeautiful sceneryEasily walkableAmazingly friendly people

The rooms were nice and the golf course was fun
The restaurant options were somewhat limited. Also, I think the pricing was a little too high for the value.
Staff was unorganized with luggage, transportation and valet accommodations
The breakfast was excellent as was the view from the Oak Room. The gardens and grounds are so pretty and the gym is exceptional. I also liked the pilates class we took which was included in our stay. All staff were gracious and the room was so comfortable and beautifully decorated.
The dinner we had was good but not great but the service was excellent. Other than that I loved the place and would seek to return at every opportunity. I really didn't want to leave.
the decoration was beautiful and the bed really comfortable.
The bathtub did fill up even after repair. really bad tub.
One of the most gorgeous properties I have ever stayed. Loved the expansive property.
When checking in, we had to wait for a while due to a large group checking in. The front desk attendant was awesome to help with the chaos due to the group checking in. When checking out, we asked for an hour extension due to check in taking a long time, and I wanted to visit the fitness gym after sleeping in and enjoying my coffee. The front desk attendant compromised and allowed us to check out at 11:30. Would have been nice to stay more than one night at this property.

Disappointment
This was supposed to be a nice place. It’s priced that way.Our towel was stained and dirty. We found a hair in our napkin at their high end restaurant. Then, the other napkin was dirty. The room had one tiny window, so the room was very dark. The room smelled upon walking inside, musty. The high end restaurant was not amazing. It was just good. And the furniture (chairs) were not very comfortable. The heater in the bedroom kept blowing cold air. We will not be returning. Not worth the price whatsoever. Very average.
Rooms were clean. Housekeeping gave extra care with cord straps and pixies. Restaurant staff was above and beyond at Olivella.
The Communication gap between the front desk and valet left a lot to be desired. First time we had to be in Ventura harbor early am we waited for 30 mins for our car. It wasn’t called, then they couldn’t find it bc it was not attached to the room correctly. The second time we called down 20 mins ahead of time when I was checking out and asked them to retrieve the car and it still hadn’t been called yet. It took another 15. The valet guys are all working hard. It’s a breakdown in communications between the front desk and the valet team.
The bed and pillows were amazing. Best night's sleep I have had in years! The bathroom was excellent. The property is very tranquil even though we are not golfers.I would have liked to have seen a better fish selection on the restaurant menu, and the gift shop prices were crazy high. ($500. for a sweater!)
