Pros +
- Was very private. Our cabin was small but updated and was great!
- Nicest cabin sweet ever in that price range. Super private. It would be nicer if the bathroom had fans for privacy sine the cabins are kinda confined but so so comfortable. Will def stay again.
- Privacy and kitchenette, close to stores and beach
Cons -
- Getting onto highway 1 was kinda hard but totally worth it
- Bad heater didn¿t work correctly
- The noise was awful. The walls were paper thin. The door leaked air and noise camee in. I could hear the highway noise, my neighbor's baby crying and my neighbor snoring. The heater banged when on.

Great location. It's close to the highway so it is easy to get out to Big Sur.
The place needs a remodeling. We had hoped for a bath, but it was more just a motel. There's a pool but no hot tub. It Valentine's weekend, but it was just not a romantic place. I feel it's overpriced because of the location.

Environment
Staff was wonderful.
Clean, comfortable, and beautiful surroundings. The staff here was very kind and friendly, and if our budget allowed we would readily have chosen to stay for longer! No water provided in the rooms but we were able to ask the front desk staff for some and they refilled our water bottles.
Quite pricey for a relatively small room, but we did choose to stay in a more expensive area (Carmel/Big Sur generally has pricier accommodations).
The location near the river
Walls were paper thin and unfortunately spent 3 nights with loud and rowdy neighbors. Staff did not handle the inconvenience
Great location. Beautiful grounds with mature cypress trees. The walking path was gorgeous with many varieties of flowers and very well kept, we enjoyed walking it with our dog several times a day. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed the hot coffee/tea and cookies that were in the lobby each day. Walking distance from The Barnyard center that has many stores and dining options. We got a wonderful massages in the center and went to the Lafayette Bakery which is an authentic French Patisserie with so many choices. We ate there each morning and took a bunch to go on our way out of town for home. Housekeeping was very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and had nice linens.
We stayed in one of the vintage cottages. It was the 2nd one on the left past the office (I think it was #32) near the ice machine and maintenance sheds, laundry room. There are to many bright lights in that area and our room was lit up in the evening which made it hard to sleep. It needs some black out drapes because the mini blinds do not help with the issue. People came late at night to get ice and woke us up with their talking and filling up ice containers. The cottage badly needs to be updated. When we arrived the room was really stuffy and hot due to the old wall heater that has a pilot light that never goes off making the room uncomfortable in the summer. Shower/bathroom were not appealing at all. We felt this particular room was overpriced for what we got. We will stay again BUT in an updated room only.
Close to Point Lobos, and away from downtown crowds. Only place with power during Christmas storms of 2025! We arrived on 12/26 to see Carmel in the dark except for our end of town. Very dog friendly new and clean
Shower pressure was low
Gorgeous little property, pet friendly, & super friendly staff! Amy at the front desk was great! Very convenient having Safeway walking distance across the street. Breakfast places, & a fun Irish pub, with great food, & live music!
The older cottages aren’t meant for tall ppl. They’re cute, & comfortable but if you’re 6ft or taller, you physically can’t fit in the shower or toilet! The newer cottages are SO NICE, we didn’t want to leave!!
We loved how dog friendly this place is, as well as the town! We loved this unique property. Next time we want to stay in one of the older cottages, they are too cute!
I was very satisfied with my stay. The room was clean and well decorated. Staff was friendly and provided all information without me having to ask. There were extra towels and bed and bedding were very comfortable and very clean. Basic necessities were all available. The location was close to main attractions by car. I would definitely stay again.
Staff was pleasantly friendly and polite. Appreciated his support during the check in process and explaining the small details that matter.
The room was completely outdated. It wasn’t what I expected it to be. Needs revamping and modernization.
It was glamping and everything was well kept. It was comfortable inside.
How close everyone was and lack of lights outside
Breakfast not served, coffee available, and cookies. Personnel were very helpful and responsive.
Everything was satisfactory.
That it gave you a sense of security. As well as the grounds were being maintained and worked on.
I am disabled and having my service dog was a big plus. There’s no charge as always for service dogs. There were other dogs on the property as well. The grounds were clean and doggy bags were provided for those that didn’t bring theirs.
Helped get the room we required.Extra towels and pillows when needed.
Very cute, cozy and quiet!
we liked our room cabin 56 . definitely felt homey . it was pretty quiet and peaceful great choice for romance package.
I think the room could be more modernize. I wish they would of had extra stuff on han at the front desk etc Tylenol bottles of water etc.
