Carmel Green Lantern Inn

The grounds were well maintained and the location is convenient for getting to the beach or the downtown shops.

The toilet in our room didn’t work properly. Upon arrival I noticed a plunger in the bathroom and thought that was odd. Most hotels don’t have that. Well it was there for a reason. Numerous attempts by staff failed to fix it. We left early because of it.

Our room looked nothing like the ones advertised online. It was dark and dingy.

They said the price included with breakfast, but it was just cookies and croissant They said free parking but it was street parking. The expectation of the room was a little different from the impact of the pictures in the site

The Green Lantern Inn is definitely "Old Carmel"; my husband stayed there when he was a student in college 50 years ago. The grounds and public spaces are attractive and the staff is helpful. The breakfast is delicious and included in the price.

The rooms are shabby chic and if that is not your style this is not the place for you.

Room was small

Room was spacious. The fans were turned on when we arrived. The room was a bit too warm, but with the door and windows open, it took an hour or so to cool to comfortable level. That helped so much as there was no Air conditioning. Microwave was in the room! Loved it and used it three times. Receptionist, Augustina, made us feel at home and couldn’t have been nicer. Great room! Great stay! Very comfortable! Thanks to all!

The bed was supposed to be a queen…it was a double. It also was very lumpy and uncomfortable.

No breakfast, uncomfortable bed.

The location and cuteness of it was great, plus not difficult with parking

The property itself is well maintained and very pretty. Great location near the ocean. Our room had an ocean view which was lovely. The room size was also very nice.

They had clearly remodeled the bathroom, and while it was nice decor, they had very awkwardly created a 18 x 12“ sink, much too small to use. There was not a single place to put anything in the bathroom, and the shower glass was something you would bump into when you walked into the room. Despite a nice attempt, it was a totally unfunctional bathroom. A bit strange given that the rest of the place was quite lovely.

Beautiful grounds and very comfortable large hotel room. The hotel is located very close to the wonderful beach in Carmel, and a short walk from all the shops and restaurants. The only downside for me was the walkways in between the buildings were not flat. There were lots of ups and downs and cracks in the sidewalks. There was not a lot of light at night so it was difficult to safely maneuver back to my room.

Very small issue…The room we were in had a low angled beam but we were still able to navigate around the room.

It is so beautiful and relaxing there. Room was nice and clean. Staff was so nice and helpful. I would stay again.

Parking is first come first serve. It gets tight when parking is full. There were some lights on all night, shining through shutters. Room was small than the pictures seemed to make it out to be. We had a baby which made it harder.
