This was a better than average location to walk to the main town square. Not perfect but a good location. The interior was modern and mostly functional with air conditioning.

Housekeeping staff. Hotel overall was nice.
Pretty much everything. The staff, greeter, and the maid service plus the bartender at the roof top pool. They were all very kind and the place very clean.

Location and price, and the staff was great.
The large room, the substantial furniture and comfortable bed, with two pillow choices, soft & hard, the overall layout and design of the lobby. However, I need to explain why the overall was poor, as in my complaint below. NO DRINKING WATER.

The location of the hotel was great, just a short walk to the main square. Also, the staff were very kind and helpful, and the pool was refreshing after exploring in the hot sun.

Well located. Friendly staff.
Excellent price, clean facility, friendly staff, fast reliable wifi. Didn't eat at their restaurant so I have no idea about the food quality. Would recommend it to friends & family.

It's in a very nice area with many of the French mansions still operating. The streets are tree lined and there are many activities taking place there. Numerous restaurants there too.
Everything was amazing. I've stayed here before and will always come back. Staff is great and always eager to help. My Spanish is very rusty but they were very good at communicating. Many eating places close by.
I booked a room king but they give me a 2 doble bed room in the last corner of the hotel and that was because they have romantic promotions is like they have no more king rooms for the romantic promotions that they have on and I have to sacrifice my king

Where to stay in Merida
Learn about the top neighbourhoods of Merida
The largest city in the Yucatan Peninsula, Merida is also one of the oldest in Mexico. It was founded in 1542 by the Spanish, and stones from earlier Maya temples were used in the ornate cathedral and other buildings in the historic district. There are many fine galleries scattered around the colonial-era city's atmospheric streets, including the Museum of the City of Merida. About five miles southwest of the center of the city is Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport.

Top Tips
- Book Mérida hotels 3–6 months ahead for peak season (November–March), when rates often climb 20–30%. Early booking is especially important during local festivals, such as Carnaval in February. Confirm cancellation policies for flexibility.
- Expect a mandatory 16% VAT (IVA) and a variable service charge on hotel bills. Ask for the full breakdown in MX$ before completing your booking to avoid surprises.
- Prioritize stays in Centro Histórico or along Paseo de Montejo for immediate walkability. Both areas offer over 150 dining options and major sights within a 1 km radius. Request a map or accessible routes at check-in if needed.
- Mid-range hotels typically provide Wi-Fi speeds of 20-50 Mbps, enough for email and light video calls. For requirements such as video conferencing, ask the front desk if dedicated business lounges or meeting rooms are available.
- Carry small-denomination pesos (20–40 MX$, about $1–$2 USD) to tip bell staff or housekeepers, and for street vendors or local taxis, as digital payments can be limited outside major venues.
- Though Mérida’s tap water meets federal standards, high sulfate levels (280-320 mg/L) may affect sensitive stomachs. Most hotels offer complimentary bottled water—request extras if you have gastrointestinal concerns.
- Hotel pool hours usually end by 21:00–22:00 due to city noise rules and maintenance. For late-evening recreation, check if the property offers alternative amenities, such as lounges or rooftop bars.
- Rooftop pools provide better airflow for afternoon swims, especially from April to October when daytime highs regularly exceed 33°C (91°F). Confirm elevator or ramp access for rooftop amenities if needed.
- On-site laundry service is often priced per garment. Nearby lavanderías (laundromats) typically charge 25-35 MX$ per kilo, saving on large loads. Ask the hotel front desk for trusted local options.
- Look for hotels with included breakfast featuring Yucatecan dishes like huevos motuleños or panuchos. Sampling these early lets you explore the city’s food scene at lunch and reduces meal costs by at least 80–120 MX$ daily (about $5–$7.50 USD; verify if fluctuating).
