I just about like everything
The room was good but the hotel charged fees upon arrival & that is wrong. Don't allow added fees that I did not agree to when I reserved my room. Their doing that tells me that Hyatt has no integrity? This leads to a distrust of large corporations.

Top Tips
- Rates at Tybee Island hotels typically rise 30-50% during peak summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and holiday weekends, with many rooms selling out 6-12 weeks ahead. To secure your preferred hotel and avoid increases, book at least 2-3 months before arrival.
- Expect a 25-35 minute drive (18-20 miles) from Savannah International Airport (SAV) to Tybee Island. There is no direct rail or city shuttle, so use local taxi or rideshare services and confirm current fares before travel.
- From May to October, Tybee Island enforces 'turtle-friendly' lighting to protect nesting sea turtles. If staying beachfront, ask your hotel about compliant exterior lighting and consider closing blackout curtains after dusk.
- Lifeguards are posted at Main Beach from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. To ensure supervised swimming, confirm lifeguard schedules in advance because other beaches may be unguarded.
- Municipal and public beach parking on Tybee Island often fills within 10-20 minutes on summer weekends. Confirm with your hotel if parking is included or assigned before arrival to avoid delays or extra costs.
- For a quieter stay, request a room on a higher floor or away from the Strand and Pier, where bars and live music typically run late into the night. Many beachfront hotels can accommodate specific room-location requests when booked early.
- During hurricane season (June 1 to November 30), choose hotels with refundable rates or purchase trip insurance that covers weather events. Evacuation orders may require sudden itinerary changes, especially between August and October.
- Many Tybee Island hotels are low-rise with exterior steps and limited elevator access. If you need a ground-floor or accessible room (step-free access, visual alarms), request this in advance to ensure availability.
